Loved the view. Kids loved the friendly horses. Fun exploring the wash/canyon on the property. Very clean porta potty
Past trip
in The River Life, TennesseeWe had our own beach and tent right on a loud beautiful rushing river! If was fun to watch the geese bump bump down the rapids into the quieter water. My girls could swim while we cooked and prepped for our day. We also had a flush toilet and shower on site with a little walking. We were pretty much by ourselves back in site 6/7. Def. Superior back there in the trees to sites 1-3 up near the bath house. We didn't struggle with mosquitoes thanks prob to the mountains and the moving water. Our drive was an hour or a little less to Dollywood or the Gatlinburg entrance to the national park. There were plenty of cheaper beautiful options still open to camp in the national park that we may consider some day to be right in Cades Cove for ease of exploring the western portion of the park. But for the Gatlinburg entrance, this was within a decently times drive and a great portion of our vacation was enjoying the site itself.
The weather said it was going to rain everyday but that's mountain weather. It rains a little every day but doesn't ruin the whole day. You will want to ask Kelly to help you pay attention to potential flooding because the river is always going up and down and that's always a possibility so keep your eyes open. What a practically perfect site!
Oh and she has yurt sites too you can check out if that's your thing.

Past trip
in Brightstone Lake, IndianaAnna V.has mixed feelings towards this listing.
It was a nice place for a road trip stop. I believe there were five gravel spots right next to each other and we had to put our tent on the gravel. Glad we were the Only ones there that night. The walk to the lake/pond was pretty and it was a nice spot to view some wildlife. But it was def. Too scummy to swim in no matter where and our girls were disappointed. We like lake swimming too. I wouldn't recommend for a long term camping getaway but fine for a quick stop. Not too far off the highway and near Lafayette.

Horse Drive
in Horse Drive, MichiganAnna V.has mixed feelings towards this listing.
(Dispersed site)
Its as described. A spot right off the driveway with the gas station and busy traffic going by. A cheap quick place to park for the night. Not really our usual quiet farm stops. FYI for anyone intrested, since there was no porta potty, we took this place cause it was right next to a gas station and we planned to use ther facilities in the morning. But they have bathrooms closed to the public. Cute goats came running over to say hi in the morning!

Celesta's Grove
in Celesta's Grove, OhioThis is why you wanna hipcamp!
Anna V.recommends this listing.

This is why you wanna try hipcamp! Not too expensive but a different experience than your average campground stop. Far off the road with a view of a pond and some nice shade. Amish country for sure and you have buggies and bikes going by. Head in to town in the evening around 6 for dinner or an after dinner ice cream and you'll enjoy eating with the locals at the outside ice cream and sandwich stand. Amish, Mennonite, the rest of us, all parked with our vans, buggies, wagons, bikes... Back at the site our little girls loved climbing the trees and swinging on the wooden swing. They also loved being surrounded by fire flies. As everyone said, the porta potty was super clean. There are 2 sites and they are both under the trees right next to each other. It would have been a bummer if anyone else was there. Javan had a nice stack of wood for us there. We had our 20 foot transit van and sometimes worry about getting stuck in muddy farms. This worked well. Great stay. I highly recommend!

in Overland Camping at The 1938 Barn, IndianaAnna V.recommends this listing.

Peaceful little nook, fun to see newborn ducklings at the barn. Very generous of Justin to let us all share this space for a great price. True to his listing...it can be wet and muddy in the woods the moment you leave the gravel drive. So check first before driving into the woods or you may get stuck like we almost did! Justin and family checked in on us and even brought us potatoes from the garden. Its buggy back there but...start a fire and enjoy!
Anna hasn't gone on any trips yet.
