Horse stables RV camp

I stayed for five days on this busy horse farm to have access to the Great Smoky Mountains. I was able to work remotely, and I enjoyed watching the horses spending their days in the paddocks and barn that surround the RV sites. The roads around the property provide breath-taking views of the mountains if you want to get out for a short walk. Smoky Mountains just a few minutes/miles drive away.

My stay at Caesar Oaks Campground was a quiet and peaceful week. The farm is meticulously kept, and sites are easy to access via the paved road in and open fields where they are sited generous distances from each other. Wayne checked in with me to be sure I had everything I needed, and let me know all the area sites to check out.

Great location midway between El Paso and Guadalupe Mountain National Park. Jeff was very accommodating, and I had my pick of locations for the week. Phone service can be spotty in west Texas, but Jeff let me use his wifi, including use of the restaurant for a virtual meeting. Nice quiet spot to spend the week.

This was such a cool place to discover! Johnnie was very responsive, and provided a lot of historical context prior to my arrival. The camp sites are among old WPA buildings, and you can explore the ruins of an old zoo beyond the site. Neat experience!

The description of this RV park was accurate, but the host was not as responsive or present as I expected. I reached out when I arrived on Sunday and heard back on Wednesday. The bathroom was not cleaned or resupplied the during the time that I was there - five days - although I seemed to be the only one using it.
Otherwise, the location was as expected - a run of ten RV spots side by side, just off the highway, with easy access to wineries nearby.

I stayed just one night on my way through the area, but was impressed by the upkeep of the location and hospitality of the hosts. Very clean site, and easily accessed, level RV parking. The hosts are RVers, and they've done it right!

Host was available on site when I arrived and took the time to show me the sites, giving me my choice of location. I stayed for just one night, and it had been a rainy day, so I mostly stayed in my RV. Would love to see more another time.

Foothills Farm Primitive Camping

My quiet stay behind a clean barn and barnyard, observed only by the horses in the pasture, was a quiet place to spend the week. Lots of hiking accessible nearby, and amenities (gas, groceries, hardware) are just down the road. Hosts were extremely responsive with last minute requests, and were on-site, but a distance from the RV spots behind the barn, the entire time.
