We love staying at Bobs campsites along the Souhegan River. Group of 4 adults, an 11month old baby, and one pup enjoyed a late May weekend at campsite #1. Although it rained for a good portion, the huge tarp over the picnic table was incredibly helpful! We set up an ez-up but didn't end up using it as intended over the picnic table, but put it just off to the side acting as a baby corral while we cooked meals at the site. We also fit an SUV, truck camper, and tent on the site. Loved the sound of the rushing river, made even higher by all the rain. So peaceful it felt like we were alone in the woods, even with the horse pasture on the other side of the fence. Ticks were bad this time around but we checked ourselves often. As always, we love the grate over the firepit for cooking, as well as the option to purchase firewood on site!

One of our favorite campsites! Second time staying here and this time we camped with my 4.5month old baby who had a great time too. Love the incredible hospitality of Jane and family. Everything we needed was provided, just had to pack ice! One of our favorite outhouse views too, lol. The bed is wicked comfy, the wood stove inside the tent worked perfectly, water was provided with a sink in the covered, well-stocked kitchen area; and hiking trails right from the site. The foliage in October was spectacular! Highly recommend.

Camped here in September with 80degree days so we were still able to take advantage of the river. 3 adults, one infant, one dog, stayed in tents and a pop-up truck camper. Plenty of room for us. Site provides a tarp above the picnic table, but we also brought our own ez-up to put over the picnic table, although we hardly encountered any mosquitoes. Easy check-in and out with a great welcome info pdf Bob sends prior to arriving. The woodchips throughout the site make a comfortable floor, especially for tent sleeping.

Booked both sites 1 and 2 for a weekend stay in August and only ended up using site 1 for the river access since half our group wasn't able to make the camping trip. Site 1 has a nice layout with space for a few tents, two access points down to the river and two awesome log bridges from the field. Great loo and tarp over the picnic table. Plus two adirondack chairs and a bundle of wood to get you started. Easy contactless check-in and out. Bob is a great communicator and gives you detailed instructions for everything you could think of prior to check-in.

Stayed at site 2 for a weekend in August. Five adults, one baby, two dogs and we had a great time. It was humid and rainy, but we brought two thermacells and kept the river going and the mosquitoes were non-existent (except for a few right at dusk). The site was big enough for three tents plus a pickup truck with Go Fast Camper pop-up. We appreciated the giant tarp over the platform, loo, and picnic table because it did end up raining on our last day. The path down to the river is easy and we enjoyed floating in the water. We brought floats and could walk a ways up, then float back down a few times. The site was so secluded and peaceful. Site 1 and the hosts home are also on the property but they far enough away that you can't see them. The only noise we heard were a few planes landing at MHT. Wilson the dog came to say hi and we met Bob and Tini in passing. Easy check-in and out. Bob also provides extensive information prior to check-in about everything you could want to know for your camping trip. Highly recommend!

Thank you Shari for opening up your yurt to us! My husband and I stayed for a weekend in April to celebrate our 19th date-anniversary with our two pups and we all had the most relaxing time. Comfortable bed, fully stocked kitchen (with so many spices) and bathroom- even left toothbrushes for us which was perfect since my husband forgot his! Easy check-in and helpful instructions all throughout the yurt for every aspect. After falling asleep to the rain on our first night, we spent most of our time out on the deck reading and enjoying the view- the pups loves to sunbathe. The only thing I'll mention is that we had to move the little outdoor table to the corner of the deck to block a small space in between the yurt and the start of the deck railing because one of my dogs was able to escape through it, lol. We brought our own dog gate for the actual deck entrance to keep the pups corralled. Also brought our own dog bed but were happy to see one had been provided for us!

Stayed at Campsite A for a weekend in October (also booked Campsite B). Up on a small hill with lovely views. Easy to fit a large camper with room to turn around. Hosts provided a picnic table under an ez-up, lighter, bugspray, hand sanitizer, electric hookups, chimenea fireplace, and solar lights around the site. Clean port-o-potty and shower down the hill, shared with Campsite B. Verizon and AT&T cell service. Just be careful turning into the campsite property from VT-110 since it's 50mph speed limit and cars go very fast along it.

Stayed at Campsite B for an October weekend (also booked Campsite A). 4 campers and 3 dogs- Nelson let us have two vehicles down at site B which had a huge space for us to spread out. Host provided firepit with firewood (we chopped it up) and wheelbarrow to move it down to the site, two picnic tables, adirondack chairs, hammock on the river, tiki torches, hand sanitizer, solar lights, lighter, and generator that we didn't use but is helpful to have. Clean port-o-potty and shower, shared with Campsite A. When we stayed, all the leaves had fallen off the trees, and there was an adult softball tournament going on the entire weekend (7am-6pm) in the ballfields across the river from our site, so we didn't have any privacy during the day, and it was very loud. But had there been leaves on the trees I think the site would have felt more private and more quiet. There's also a security camera in the field that points at the driveway. Our last day there it was very windy at the campsite, so we had to stake everything down for extra protection. Spotty cell service with Verizon and AT&T unless you walk up the hill a little.

Loved our stay at Shady Grove. We were far enough away from the Southernmost Point site that we felt perfectly secluded. Easy directions and communications from Tina and family- we did not have cell service with Verizon, so we were very thankful Tina stopped by to tell us there was a tornado warning! Aside from that, we had perfect summer weather during our stay and we spent all our time in the river- there's one section that's deep enough to actually swim, otherwise perfect for sitting on rocks to cool off. Loved how there was an upper site and a lower site- we spent our days at the lower site by the river, but slept up top in the dry area; and loved that each site had its own picnic table and firepit. Highly recommend the $30 firewood deal- delivered right to our site. Clean pit toilet outhouse with amazing little hand washing station. Next time we'll opt for the hike to the summit which has a trail right from the campsite.

Forrest and Jean are such informative, welcoming hipcamp hosts, my sister, her pup, and I loved camping on their farm property! Easy directions to follow lead up right to the site, and the chain-link gate was simple to open and close. We tent camped on a very hot May weekend, but the site had a constant southern breeze that was all shaded, so we kept cool- and we waded in the brook next to the camp! Mostly thigh high depth- we average 5'5". We appreciated the amazingly clean and well stocked outhouse, picnic table and firepit, as well as the pay-as-you go firewood which was right on site. Although it was a contactless check-in, my sister and I did venture over to the hosts farmhouse to ask for a few local tips since we had no cell service to text (AT&T) but once we were in the town of Lebanon we had full service, among other amenities. There were lots of ticks, but that's the same as anywhere in the state lately- we just checked ourselves constantly. Also some poison ivy along the water, but it's few and far between.

Linda was a great host, she reached out soon as we booked, answered all our questions, and was just a text away if we needed anything during our stay (we had verizon and at&t service). Thankfully everything we needed was provided- we loved the outdoor kitchen set up to cook all our meals; we brought our own campstove, but there were two there to use, just bring propane. Linda also provided a little dish washing station, pots/pans, enamel mugs and plates, paper towels, lighters, folding chairs, some games, even an orange vest for our walks in the woods. Lovely fall foliage. The views were incredible, even from the outhouse! We visited in October 2020 and spent most of our time on the deck or exploring the many trails leading from the cabin. We had a subaru crosstrek and toyota tacoma easily make it up the short driveway with some maneuvering around the bumps. The beds were very comfy and the cabin was much larger than we expected. We loved the firepit overlooking the scenery and brought our own wood, but appreciated that we could just grab some downed branches from around the property. We didn't see any wildlife aside from a bald eagle overhead and nearby owls making noise at night. You can hear the road down below the cabin, but it wasn't bothersome as there were only a few passing cars. We also brought our own portable propane heater (mr. buddy) but we didn't end up using it, the cabin was warm during our stay. Very peaceful setting, we will be back!

James was a great host, very communicative and he has lots of plans to make this land into multiple campsites, I'm excited to see his finished product. The lot has 2 parking spaces, but they aren't side by side, so some coordinating is needed if you have two cars. However there are 3 more parking spaces over on lot 49 which is helpful. When we arrived another group of campers had already set up at the main site which included the firepit, fire extinguisher, trash can, and shovel/rake. James told us they would be there, so it didn't come as a surprise. The main site looked nice and there was plenty of room to make ourselves another camp somewhere else on the lot, we'd just have to find rocks to make a firepit. However, we had to walk directly through the other campers site to get to our potential site and we did not feel comfortable doing that, especially because we came with a lot of stuff, so it would have been multiple awkward trips. We did not end up camping here, but we did take advantage of the lake which was amazing. We parked right at the beach, otherwise it was like a 5min walk from the campsite. There's at least 4 parking spots at the beach- you drive past it as you get to the campsite. This neighborhood and lake belong to a private association, and we did get asked by one random guy who said he lived at the end of the road, where we were staying- just replied with guests of Lot 47. He said he didn't like non-residents coming to use the lake, so that was a bit off-putting, but thankfully he didn't stay long and we kept swimming. I would recommend this campsite if you book both of the camp listings, so there's no awkward situations; it would be really great for large groups!
