We 1st started visiting Terlingua in 2004, we instantly fell in love and my parents then gave us our original piece as a wedding gift, it had been in the family since the 70s. We continue to learn more about the property with every trip, and eventually started buying more land ourselves. We camped and clamped on the property until 2019 when we built our small off grid cabin.

We loved this trip so much and it was so special for my bf and I. Only recommendations bring lots of fire wood and layers to stay toasty warm:)

Valley View Campsite @ Tres Arroyos
The campsite has a very nice view of the mountains and a nice rock fire ring. There was plenty of space for my cousins and I to set up our tents. We enjoyed exploring the ghost town of Terlingua, which is a short drive away from the campsite. I would definitely consider coming here again!

Tres Arroyos- High View Campsite
Gorgeous site in the desert hills
This is a gorgeous spot in the hills above the desert floor with spectacular sunrises! A well placed firepit and picnic table make this location fabulous! We loved it, but have a few very important notes for other campers considering it. 1) We had extremely high wind every day and every night we were there; 2) you cannot stake down your tent due to the rocky ground...so we tied our tent down to various rocks; 3) definitely need a powerful high clearance vehicle due to the dirt road with very steep inclines in places leading up to the site; 4) though fires are allowed by the owner, due to the high winds it wasn't safe to have them; 5) with the high winds it was VERY VERY dusty as well as difficult to cook, so we simplified our meals greatly; 6) though the owner allows pets, we were glad we decided not to bring ours...the desert native plants are rather spiny! That said, again, the site was SPECTACULARLY gorgeous, very well planned out, incredibly clean and well maintained. The wind was clearly out of the owner's control, and we heard from various sources that it was both highly unusual and very quite iften a regular occurrence, so take that as you will! Lol. I would highly recommend this spot to anyone prepared with the above knowledge, and would happily go again. :)
