The cabin is located on a rural road that is a five minute drive to downtown Onancock, which offers a coffee shop, several restaurants, bakery, shops, Saturday farmers’ market, and the harbor. Chincoteague and the famous ponies are 35 minutes north, and bougie Cape Charles is 40 minutes south. When you open the door to this 300’ gem, you will step back in time to a simpler way of life. This century-old building was moved to the site and has been brought back to life, preserving the original character, while adding the creature comforts we love of today. Soaring 12 foot ceilings provide a spacious air, and the original wood interior offer charm and patina that simply cannot be manufactured. In the past, it was a barber shop and then a poker joint. This place is a design nerd’s dream, a clever combination of old, new, and vintage pieces, handmade pottery and art, with close attention paid to each chosen piece. Lace curtains and blackout blinds cover all your light preferences for peaceful sleeping. The queen bed is a high end hybrid mattress with traditional coil base and memory foam top. A giant 55” TV is directly across from the bed for cozy streaming. The modern bathroom has a vintage wall sink found on site, and terrific water pressure from a rain shower head with instant, never ending Rinnai hot water. The kitchen has an ample antique sideboard as your sink, apartment size refrigerator, induction hot plate, coffee, microwave, and combo convection toaster oven/air fryer. The marble table seats two. A comfortable down-filled loveseat adds another lounge option. You will enjoy all the artistic touches around the room. Did I mention the front porch??? 4 nights at Little Rustic Cabin Near Onancock

I had a wonderful stay at this little cabin outside Onancock with my French Bulldog. It's a great pick for a solo trip or a couple's getaway. The decor is chic and genuinely tasteful. Comfortable bed and couch, great lighting, and the AC kept up easily during a heat wave that lasted the entire stay. The space is small but laid out well, easy for one person and a small dog to move around comfortably. Mona was a fantastic host: great communication, useful local tips, and friendly check-ins--never intrusive. The porch and yard were easy to use with my dog. The street doesn't have sidewalks, so walks right outside aren't ideal, though traffic is light. The grounds themselves gave her plenty of room to get exercise. Onancock is a cute, friendly small town. It was hot the whole time and I had a dog with me, so I didn't explore too much, but the town is very walkable for dogs, and Foggy Place Cafe was happy to let my dog come inside, which I appreciated. Kitchen has cookware, a hot plate, and a microwave, all great to have. Fridge and freezer worked well too. Pantry basics were limited, so plan to stop at a grocery store on your way in. I brought my own pour-over setup and didn't try the coffee maker, but it looked fine. Wifi was strong (easy to stream), the place was quiet, and sleeping was great. No real issues to report.

The Site was very well kept! The bathroom was actually very well kept and better than I expected. The cabin was cozy and comfortable. The owner turned the heater on, built us a fire before arrival, and ensured we would have everything and anything we needed during our stay. Overall, it was a wonderful stay! I would definitely come back and recommend this to our friends and family!!!!

We can't recommend the Farmhouse enough!!! A refreshing swimming lake and nature all to ourselves. Peaceful but with all the creature comforts of a soft bed, full kitchen, and WiFi :) The space is large enough that everyone could do what they wanted. We fed the goats, gathered some eggs, hiked the woods, paddled and swam in the lake, then we had drinks in the screened in patio. Bug free! We did not regret a second of our visit.

Oh my gosh, this cabin is everything. From the front porch to the kitchen and every little detail made the cabin feel like home. Great location to everything that makes the eastern shore special and Mona was incredibly helpful sharing recommendations on places to eat and things to do! My dog, Lola, and I celebrated her birthday here and it was the perfect getaway to disconnect. A beautiful cabin and a great getaway!

The house was so cute a cozy. It is a real house with electricity, internet, TV, dvd player, and Netflix, a full kitchen, and the bathroom is right beside the upstairs bedroom. The view from the bed in the morning was a beautiful huge tree in the field. Down the hill is a very large pond. I can see a float and canoes that would be great in the summer. There is a huge pavilion beside the lake with couches, a long table, chairs, a grill, and a refrigerator. There are two outside RV toilet stalls at the lake too. When I drove in I saw horses in a field and a little donkey running around, playing in a a pen. I stopped and watched. Close to the house they have goats in a pen and they wanted me to pat them. The owner, Maria, told me I could. She also has a pig and chickens. I enjoyed the solitude but this place would be wonderful for a family outing or corporate retreat. I forgot a few things, so Maria directed me to a nearby Walmart in Tappahannock. I highly recommend a stay at Maria's farm.
