Weekend Trip to Beech Hollow Hideout

I had a great time with my 4 year old son! Upon arriving we hiked up to see what gear was available, before bringing up any of our own , and I left about 80% of what I brought along in my vehicle (I tend to overpack). All I needed was our bag with a change of clothes and our small cooler with milk and eggs to make pancakes. With water, blankets, and all cooking essentials provided, you could almost walk up with nothing but yourself and whatever food you’d like to cook (there is ramen, pancake mix, syrup, tea, and a few other things up there left behind by previous guests. (Bring paper plates to use for food but also kindling for the fire) I loved using the wood stove, it makes you feel like you’re living in another time; and it’s just one more aspect of getting away from any semblance of city life. The temp outside at night was about 40 degrees. I had filled up the wood stove one last time around 8pm and it was almost too hot in the loft, but by 4am I was cold. I had to make another fire so we could get another couple hours of sleep. If you have dog allergies, this isn’t the place for you as rocket and Beue (two amazing hound like dogs) will be your guide, but they will also expect payment via sausages. Finally, a great host named William! He was friendly and made sure we had all we needed. On the morning of our last day he even took my boy on a four wheeler ride around the property and I think it unlocked a core memory. We will be back soon! Donovan and Arlo

We liked that the cabin had a fully functioning kitchen and bathroom. Loved the outdoor scenery and camp fire area. It would be a good place for friends with an RV to join you if they were totally using their camper and not trying to share the house space.

The Ole Place is a beautiful and quiet piece of property. We stayed in the cabin and it had everything we needed to base camp to be able to go hiking in Savage Gulf. The kids thoroughly enjoyed paddle boating around the lake and having a camp fire. Such a great place that we are fortunate that Randy shared his land with us.

William has it going on ! He makes amazing art, has cool goats, and dogs. The stay in the little cabin was awesome. The views from the cabin are amazing aswell. Theirs also a 1.5 mile hiking trail on the property. The out house was super nice. Everything on the property is hand built. Ask him if he has anything cool for sale, he has more than art! I’ll definitely be visiting again soon!

Pros: Parking at the cabin Self check in with code Clean & comfy Responsive host Heater kept us warm Coffee & cooking utensils included Faucet, sink, & soap in the cabin Firewood provided Dog friendly Easy check out Only one con: We were not told that the attached shower room was shared by the entire campground (there are tent/rv sites around the pond), so we left our things in there. One of the friendly campers brought our stuff to us. Also the shower never got hot, FYI, but the little heater in there was great. We so enjoyed our stay and wish it could have been longer.

1 night at Peaceful Haven Cabin

It was very peaceful at Helga's cabin. It's just a sweet, simple space to be quiet and enjoy some alone time with my dog. It was such a treat to be able to talk with Helga in the yard. I wish it had been warmer to sit on the porch and enjoy my coffee. Bad timing in weather (it was 20 degrees!), I would have loved to sit on the porch to drink my coffee. I also would have loved to have more time to chat with Helga. Hopefully there will be a next time!

My boyfriend and I loved staying at this cabin site. The pond across the way was very beautiful. It was raining a lot during our stay here so we didn’t get to try the boats, but they look like fun! Weekend Trip to Grandview Camp @ Lemon Lane Farm

Had a great time at the cabin. We came in the off season on a rainy weekend that turned pretty cold, but overall it was a great stay. The cabin was very easy to find, had plenty of firewood (absolute must, no insulation) and secluded enough from the main part of the property to really provide that peace and quiet we were looking for. It could use a little tlc, but again, we came in the off season so it's hard to take any points off for that. Would absolutely stay here again.

Weekend Trip to Hannsz Hideaway

This loft perfectly met our needs for a quick, comfortable stopover mid road trip! The appliances all seemed new, the bed was comfortable, the shower was hot, and our fur babies had plenty of space to move around. The host seemed experienced and thoughtful with little touches around the loft (ice in the freezer, shampoo in the shower, hot chocolate and mugs ready for a nice treat, tv on a swivel arm so you can watch from the bed, gate on the patio to keep your dog contained etc) and clear instructions for where to find everything and what to expect. The craftsmanship around the loft was also impressive (well built doors, countertops etc). We would definitely stay here again!

The cabin and land are a beautiful invitation to stillness and time with self~ just what I was looking for. The energy of love and community in the space is potent and reminded of “trail magic” with all the art and tokens of wisdom left behind by friends. William and Sharron are gracious hosts, available to help and respectful of privacy allowing you to feel both secure and secluded. They have the sweetest welcome pups too :) Thank you thank you. Fall Creek Falls Campground

The campground is crowded if you go during peak fall foliage times, but otherwise similar to other state campgrounds. Bathrooms are cleaned daily and the restaurant at the inn is great if you just don't feel like cooking. There are multiple overlooks with scenic views, and the suspension bridge is a must-do but I wouldn't recommend for dogs or kids. The camp store is well stocked so if you forget anything you'll easily find it there.
