Tres Piedras This private camping spot is located in the beautiful mountains of Tres Piedras, New Mexico, offering a rustic escape near the Carson National Forest. Surrounded by dirt roads and easements, the area provides plenty of space for walking and exploring the high-elevation landscape. It is a fantastic location for stargazers, as the night skies are exceptionally dark and clear. The property is also within reach of several regional attractions, situated about 15 miles from the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge and close to the Earthships museum. While the site offers a quiet and remote feel, it is conveniently located near the Chili Line Depot restaurant for those looking for a meal nearby. The property is also within reach of several regional attractions, situated about 15 miles from the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge and close to the Earthships museum. Please note that this is a primitive camping experience; there is no running water or toilet on-site, and no RV hookups are available (though RVs are welcome to book as tent sites). Campfires are permitted in the designated fire place. Pets are welcome but should remain leashed to ensure their safety in the wild terrain. Nestled in a grove of mature pine trees you will see wildlife most days in the meadow. The views of the East Range are not to be missed. We have a brand new bathhouse (4 private bathrooms with showers) and laundry facility. For detailed info, please go to www.BasecampPagosa.com. NOTE: This RV Park is under renovation. The location is 2 miles from downtown Pagosa Springs. If you are looking for a super bougie RV Park.... THIS IS NOT IT. There are several projects under way but we are not done. Enjoy reading your book in a hammock located in the common space. Experience all that Pagosa has to offer at an extremely reasonable cost. WINTER: The water at each of the sites is drained for winter to prevent freezing. There is year round water accessible at the park, just not at each site.
