It’s a bit tricky to get to but it is quiet, beautiful star scapes and a very friendly host. If you like to camp off grid and keep things simple. This is the place to do it.

Very nice and secluded location. Follow the directions closely and it's pretty easy to find. A little buggy this time of year, so bring bug spray (mostly gnats/noseums, not really mosquitoes or flies). Beautiful night skies. Very quiet and generally very peaceful, lovely location to dry camp.

The drive up through town and onto the property was really gorgeous, especially with the snow capped mountains in the distance.
And only 17 minutes outside of town, so not to far to get away from all the summer traffic and enjoy the woods around you at the site, although still close enough to mosey back out in any direction to enjoy whatever, or wherever you’re interested in checking out while visiting.
Just be aware of the ground, and dirt, if it’s wet. Because it becomes VERY DIFFICULT to mitigate if you don’t have 4 wheel drive capabilities and or decent clearance. And the neighboring property with the adjacent house as you enter, is NOT the happiest of person to confront should you accidentally end up on his property. So make ABSOLUTE SURE you’re in the right place where you need to be. And just in case you get stuck in said mud, and are absolutely unable to get out lol Call this towing service out of Chama for assistance, +1 (575) 756-4929, A F*cking +!

Land was beautiful with good views. Marilyn is very communicative and was accommodating to our needs.
It wasn't as secluded as I had hoped. There are neighbors close by (at least during our stay) and they happened to be having a large gathering, which made for some loud evenings. Another neighbor kept driving by to check us out, maybe because they are not used to seeing people camping at the property and were curious. Overall it was great though and much more private than staying at a public campground.
