We live on 10 acres of mixed forest and field. In the summer we have an active blacksmithing school and flower farm here. The idea of a sustainable, self reliant lifestyle has always been part of our life and passing it down to others is a joy for us. We sustainably manage our food and forest to be the best stewards we can for our environment and our neighbors. Our Cabin and structures were built primarily of materials that were recycled or milled on site. which makes them warm and inviting. The Cabin is located close to our shop which houses an active blacksmithing school in the summer months where the rest of the structures are separate and in an area tucked away on the edge of the woods. Jeffrey and Betsy work to make your stay as welcoming as possible. Please note there are no pets as the wildlife could be disturbed..both human and otherwise, thanks. We maintain a small orchard of fruit trees, a garden which feeds us year round and a small flower farm on the property. Avid skiers, bikers, paddlers and hikers, offering the property for others to enjoy was a conscious decision made when planning all of our infrastructure. The tipis are equipped with a queen-sized air mattress and bedding, a power box and lighting and a table and chair. You have access to picnic tables, a fire pit and a good selection of yard games like croquet and corn-hole to name a few. The acreage is surrounded on three sides by Ashley Creek and boasts a unique covered bridge and awe-inspiring grandmother Willow trees. Beautiful downtown Kalispell is an easy 10-minute walk. There you'll find local breweries with live music, a local ice cream shop, a variety of restaurants and shops. Parking is not right next to the tipis, but we have a wagon to help get your things from your vehicle to your tipi. Under the bridge is where you'll find our games, including croquet, badminton, Frisbee and Frisbee games, Bocce ball and Wiffle golf balls and clubs. We also have extra bedding and air mattresses in a secure chest. Remember that you'll be camping in a field. We've done our level best to keep the tipis clean and clear of pests, but it is a natural environment, so there is a non-zero chance that you'll run across some dirt, grass, thistles, or a multi-legged friend. You might even get an unwanted gift from a bird. The Mooseshroom is an awesome camping community that is just 7 miles from the west side of Glacier National Park. Community fire pits near the Commons are a short walk from whichever tent spot guests are assigned. The Commons also houses the bathrooms and inside/outside kitchen areas. There is plenty of seating, hammocks and picnic tables for guests to use as well. We also have two yurts available for booking on our property. The Mooseshroom is a licensed business that is limited to hosting 18 guests per night. Guests should expect a quiet, peaceful camping experience with plenty of room to enjoy their surroundings. ***This property is adjacent Highway 2 and there is a fair amount of road noise. This hard sided campsite hosts a Remodeled Dry cabin with Power and Queen-Double bunk bed, dining table with chairs and a covered porch. The Second Living Unit is a well kept 2018, Jayco travel trailer with slide-out that sleeps 4 comfortably (up to 6), and has full utilities (water/power/sewer) and includes A/C, 3 burner range, microwave, bathroom with standup shower (5 gallon RV water heater), outdoor shower, private master with RV Queen mattress. The rear living setup allows for a large living/dining/kitchen area. The futon folds down into a full bed, and the dinette drops into a double futon 4” pad for extra campers or sleeping separately. This private parcel shares a forest service boundary on one side, and is adjacent the road on the other, but the cabin and RV are set as close to the FS boundary as possible and there is a large, 1 acre clearing with plenty of additional parking areas. Enjoy the forest service access and nearby Jim Creek with public access just across the bridge. Check out the pair of nesting Common Loons at Peck Lake. Get out of the tent and enjoy a cozy night inside. Outdoor string lighting and an adjacent forest service campfire ring makes your evenings something to remember. Minutes to other local trailheads and public land and water way access. Notes: There is plenty of additional parking, but no additional RV hookups. Tent camping is not recommended at this site, nor is outdoor cooking since there is a high density of bears in the area, but campers are welcome to stay and there is room inside the dry cabin for your gear! If additional, covered storage is needed for 1 or 2 bikes, please contact the host for access to the small storage shed. Bring your bear spray. This little cabin was clean and quant, It felt like a time warp experience. Camping at the lake the way my grandpa would have loved it. Quiet, peaceful, no fuss, but lots of comfort. A nice clean cabin with comfortable bed. Clean porta potty. Great lounge chairs at the beach side. Best of all, we met the nicest little family, that was staying in cabin 2.

My husband and I really loved our stay at Anita’s! The cabin was clean and comfortable, and so cute. The amenities are very “glamping” style but super easy to access, kept clean, and a great set-up overall. We also visited Wild Horse Hot Springs just around the corner and it was incredible and so nice that it was nearby! Only pro tip - we stayed in summer and one step outside at night to use the bathroom resulted in about a dozen mosquito bites. Very typical for being outdoors, but bring bug spray or wear protective clothing in the evenings!

I loved the Airstream! It is a quirky old trailer, but it is comfy. The location is idylic. The shower and toilet facilities work great. For the shower, it is solar, so plan to shower laterin the day. Plenty of hot water at that time. Betsy is a fantastic host!

Teri is the most gracious host. This was my second trip to Teri’s place. The first time we tent camped and this time, we stayed in a yurt. She provides SO many things in the yurt. The beds were so comfortable, snuggling under the covers on chilly mornings was a favorite. We met and talked with people from all over in the common area by her shower house. We hated to leave and will definitely be back! It’s just a place you can’t help but want to come back to ❤️

Our family had a great time staying in a yurt! Plenty of space for the 5 of us and beds were comfortable. It was a hot week, but having the box fan was helpful. The air conditioned game room was a nice place to cool off in the evenings and the staff was very friendly. They even had postcard stamps for sale and outgoing mail for the kids to send postcards. Not a wilderness stay type experience, but oh so convenient being less than 10 minutes from the park entrance!

What a beautiful time at Wildiron Bigfork. Betsy is the sweetest host and genuinely cared about our experience and our time there. The outdoor kitchen was more than enough and had plenty of space to meal prep our meals for the park. Every other camper was very nice and respectful of the space and curfew!! Can’t wait to stay here again!

Weekend Trip to Cabins on Montana's Ocean

If you want to spend some epic time at Flathead lake without the crowds,this is the place! The property is set up like a beach resort,but mostly just for you. There are 3 cabins,and the lovely Christine and her family were around sometimes,but my daughter and I mostly had the beach to ourselves. Such pristine,perfect water to swim in,and the gorgeous Flathead stones everywhere constantly blew this rock hounding girl's mind. The cabin is so cute! It's very rustic as it is very old and cool. There's a fan but no AC,so on hot days it does get very hot inside. Totally worth it! No running water wasn't an issue. There's a water spicket right by the cabins,and I bathed in the lake. Highly recommend this little slice of heaven,and feel so privileged to have stayed there for 2 days.

We loved staying at the yurts! The west entrance to Glacier NP was just 10 mins away and there were plenty of places to stop and get food or gas along the way. There were people staying in the other yurts but it still felt very private. The bathrooms were clean and the lounge was a nice bonus to have a place to hangout and grab coffee. The ladies at the front desk were also so kind and helpful. Bonus: you get the clearest view of the stars from the campground!

First time using Hipcamp, and I was surprised at how seamless booking was, the accuracy of the reviews and how wonderful the hosts were! We stayed in the cabin and everything was absolutely amazing. I would 100% stay here again.
