Great synchronicity led us to the wild 30 acres of marsh and woodland that is Turtle Marsh. In addition to making a home here, we dedicating the area as a sanctuary for the quiet enjoyment of nature, eco-spiritual practices and healing. We are now recognized by the World Wildlife Fund as a Certified Wildlife Habitat. We have trails on the property that are designed for contemplative walks, along with several benches where you can sit in quiet enjoyment, undisturbed by human intrusions. There are several trailheads for the Hills to Sea Trail within a mile of our property. The quintessential New England waterfront town of Belfast on Penobscot Bay, is less than 30 minutes away. One of our favorite spots for quiet hikes along the shore of the bay, is Sears Island. It is one of the largest undeveloped islands on the east coast, that is connected to the mainland by a causeway. The island is 50 minutes away and even on the busiest summer days, its's usually possible to find a quiet spot on the shore to sit and reflect. As we continue to deepen our relationship with this land, we are trying to follow the principles of Deep Ecology in all of our interactions. Our tentsites, while only a 5 minute walk from the road, have been sited to offer as much solitude as possible, with minimal disruption to the surroundings. For 2025 we are opening a new site. It is a little more secluded, 2-3 minutes further from the road in a very quiet wooded niche, at the edge of the marsh. It is also a little smaller tent (10' diameter) situated on a platform, and a little more "camping" than "glamping". We are pricing the stay there according. In spite of being nestled in the woods, no trees were cut to prepare these relatively accessible sites. We believe that they still offer a very tangible sense of wildness and solitude. Turn your time away into a transformative and healing experience, as you connect more deeply to the natural world. We hope that you will enjoy the experience of Turtle Marsh as much as we do.

Part of an early 19th century farming community which faded into history well over a hundred years ago. Since then, it has been used exclusively for hunting, trapping and timber harvest. Other then a few scattered seasonal hunting camps, this is a privately owned uninhabited / undeveloped tract of land on the Eastern banks of the Seabasticook River watershed. Learn more about this land: Primitive Tent Camping within a mixed wood forest. Located ten miles East of Waterville, Maine or Six miles West of Unity, Maine. The Sebasticook Millennium Green is a terraced 207 acre forest with over 18 miles of trails. Vehicle access is via a seasonal town road with parking a short walk from campsites. There are four unimproved sites with picnic tables and fire rings that will only accommodate one tent. These sites are accessible with a regular vehicle and located a short distance from the marginally maintained (dirt) town road. We try to provide firewood for the sites when possible and campers are welcome to gather downed wood to use. There is a fifth site (ridge) that is a mile hike through the woods or accessible via 4wd vehicle, this site has room for four tents, has a large firepit, three picnic tables and an outhouse.

In general, this is a delightful setting for swimming, floating, fishing, and paddling among the loons and other wildlife that this water body is home to. The campsite is a short drive to a number of terrific hiking trails that are part of the Georges Highland Path, a 70-mile network of trails, and the St. George River Canoe Trail. It’s also just 20 minutes to Camden Hills State Park and downtown Camden, and 18 minutes to Rockport or Rockland. Really unique and amazing stay, can't recommend this place enough! Learned about three medicinal mushrooms that grow on the property through the walks with Peter and Willie. Some neat evidence of beaver activity was spotted as well. You can hear barn owls in the evening. If you did get any rain or wind while there it's rather pleasant. Was nice to know if you do need anything the cabin and Peter were a short walk away. I even got Peters book which I can't wait to read!

Gorgeous! I was only there for one night for a quick solo camping trip to go visit the Dambo trolls in the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens also highly recommended going there during your stay!

Robert's cabin at Tilden Pond is a wonderfully secluded get away spot with a beautiful woods walk (15mins) to the pond. We were happy about being able to park next to the cabin for easy unloading of gear. We liked making meals over a camp stove we brought and at the fire pit to calls of loons and owls. We brought our own tent but opted to stay in the cabin on the cots provided, which were comfortable with our sleeping pads and bags. Our dog loved having the woods to romp in unleashed. The sunset at the pond was a highlight. On a future trip we hope to take advantage of the double kayak. We saw others kayaking, sailing, and fishing off in the distance. Robert has done a good job repairing the road recently but it is important to have a truck or vehicle with good clearance to drive in. We loved having both Belfast and Camden only minutes away.

We went tent camping on Jeff and Cathy's land. Jeff and Cathy were wonderful hosts. I mentioned that it was my wife's birthday gift and they went next level by decorating our picnic area with birthday decorations and a personalized card. They also gave our boys two painted pumpkins to bring home. I didn't know I'd find hospitality at a campground, but Jeff and Cathy delivered. All of the sites offer good privacy so you don't feel like you're stacked on top of another family. The bathhouse is kept super clean. This was our first overnight tent night with our children and it went spectaculary! Thank you Jeff and Cathy. We'll be back.

The turn is a bit hidden so drive very slowly — we reached the top of the mountain and had to turn around because we went too far. I think the sign is a little hidden within the bushes. I can’t wait to come back! My boyfriend and I absolutely loved this. The set up was perfect, Jeff and Cathy have gone above and beyond with making sure their guests feel comfortable and enjoy their stay. We stayed in the Owls Nest, it was super cozy. There was a whole outdoor kitchen set up with all the kitchen supplies you need. They supplied fire wood, kindling and fire starter! They had jugs of water, a very nice clean bathroom set up. There is a lot of cute animals around too, we saw a few deer, and a porcupine with its baby! We were so impressed with Jeff and Cathy’s hospitality and can’t wait to come stay in the Owls Nest next season :)

Great synchronicity led us to the wild 30 acres of marsh and woodland that is Turtle Marsh. In addition to making a home here, we dedicating the area as a sanctuary for the quiet enjoyment of nature, eco-spiritual practices and healing. We are now recognized by the World Wildlife Fund as a Certified Wildlife Habitat. We have trails on the property that are designed for contemplative walks, along with several benches where you can sit in quiet enjoyment, undisturbed by human intrusions. There are several trailheads for the Hills to Sea Trail within a mile of our property. The quintessential New England waterfront town of Belfast on Penobscot Bay, is less than 30 minutes away. One of our favorite spots for quiet hikes along the shore of the bay, is Sears Island. It is one of the largest undeveloped islands on the east coast, that is connected to the mainland by a causeway. The island is 50 minutes away and even on the busiest summer days, its's usually possible to find a quiet spot on the shore to sit and reflect. As we continue to deepen our relationship with this land, we are trying to follow the principles of Deep Ecology in all of our interactions. Our tentsites, while only a 5 minute walk from the road, have been sited to offer as much solitude as possible, with minimal disruption to the surroundings. For 2025 we are opening a new site. It is a little more secluded, 2-3 minutes further from the road in a very quiet wooded niche, at the edge of the marsh. It is also a little smaller tent (10' diameter) situated on a platform, and a little more "camping" than "glamping". We are pricing the stay there according. In spite of being nestled in the woods, no trees were cut to prepare these relatively accessible sites. We believe that they still offer a very tangible sense of wildness and solitude. Part of an early 19th century farming community which faded into history well over a hundred years ago. Since then, it has been used exclusively for hunting, trapping and timber harvest. Other then a few scattered seasonal hunting camps, this is a privately owned uninhabited / undeveloped tract of land on the Eastern banks of the Seabasticook River watershed. Learn more about this land: Primitive Tent Camping within a mixed wood forest. Located ten miles East of Waterville, Maine or Six miles West of Unity, Maine. The Sebasticook Millennium Green is a terraced 207 acre forest with over 18 miles of trails. Vehicle access is via a seasonal town road with parking a short walk from campsites. There are four unimproved sites with picnic tables and fire rings that will only accommodate one tent. These sites are accessible with a regular vehicle and located a short distance from the marginally maintained (dirt) town road. We try to provide firewood for the sites when possible and campers are welcome to gather downed wood to use. There is a fifth site (ridge) that is a mile hike through the woods or accessible via 4wd vehicle, this site has room for four tents, has a large firepit, three picnic tables and an outhouse.

Fieldstone Farm is a 35-acre property in Warren, Maine. Our waterfront campsite is located on a wooded parcel nestled between a rolling farm field and a seasonal cottage. Amenities included in the nightly rental are a 16-foot diameter round Regatta Bell canvas tent set up on a raised wooden platform, with a queen-sized pull-out futon, two additional single-sized futon chairs, and an indoor dining table and stools. Outside, overlooking beautiful Crawford Pond (aka Crawford Lake) is an outdoor kitchen and lounging area with patio table and chairs, umbrella, as well as kitchenware (cookware, plates, bowls, cups, utensils, coffee press, etc.), a gas grill, and firepit. Also onsite is a shed for storing food bins and trash, a solar composting toilet, and a solar sun shower stall. The campsite is just steps away from shared water access with a small beach and space to launch paddleboards, canoes, kayaks, or other similar kinds of watercraft. Friendly dogs are welcome at the campsite and on the beach; however, dogs should not be left unattended at the campsite or on the beach. The lake covers nearly 600 acres, with an 11-mile perimeter, and is 3.5 miles in length. In the middle sits 100-Acre Island, a beautiful piece of land stewarded by the Georges River Land Trust and a great place to get out and stretch your legs if you are on a long paddle or to have a picnic. In general, this is a delightful setting for swimming, floating, fishing, and paddling among the loons and other wildlife that this water body is home to. The campsite is a short drive to a number of terrific hiking trails that are part of the Georges Highland Path, a 70-mile network of trails, and the St. George River Canoe Trail. It’s also just 20 minutes to Camden Hills State Park and downtown Camden, and 18 minutes to Rockport or Rockland. There are many excellent restaurants and art galleries in these coastal towns, as well as opportunities to get out on the ocean and enjoy our coastal beaches or catch a ferry for a day trip out to explore one of the iconic islands offshore.
