Absolutely love old quarry. Waking up to ocean mist and the smell of balsam fir is such a treat. We've seen deer, skunks, rabbits, and tons of birds in the are so if you like wildlife watching this is a great place for it. We stayed in a tent in some very cold weather but it was all worth it to be at Old Quarry again!

Old Quarry is an awesome well kept campground. The sites that we saw were well spaced out for privacy and were well kept. Our site was in a beautiful fir stand with absolute privacy and a well-constructed platform for our tent. The views from the dock and boat launch were spectacular for sunrise, sunset, and stars. The amount of seafaring adventuring available at this location should empower even the most inexperienced to get out on the water. We caught venue in the offseason but hope to return for future adventures when warmer weather is abundant.

Beautiful grounds. The campsite was large and nicely kept up. I highly recommend going kayaking with this group too. They are amazing!!!!

This place was definitely built for kayakers! The sites are mostly pretty private. Campsite 10 was really private but we had to swap to site 5 which was pretty exposed to other sites. Other campers were really respectful and pretty quiet. The showers were really nice to have although the bathrooms in general could have been a little cleaner. We were able to have fresh lobster cooked up for us, right at the office and we ate overlooking the water - which was a highlight of our trip! Stonington and Deer Isle are beautiful. While I think most people come to get on the water, driving around the island was also pretty awesome!

Old Quarry Campground is a beautifully kept campground with private campsites, clean bathrooms, a store in case you forget anything and a good spot to rent kayaks, sailboats etc. We camped but a lot of people were coming in for tours etc. The campsites had everything we needed. Wish we could have stayed longer, would definitely go back!

I had no idea what to expect coming here, there was a lot more to offer than just camping. There's a camp store with all of the necessities and more. There's also a "take out" window where you can order a few different food items...like a lobster dinner! Yum.
There's also quite a few excursions available..guided kayak tours, PUFFIN tours (um how cool!), kayak and boat rentals. So many options! I originally had other plans but abandoned them to stay longer and took a guided trip to one of Maine's many islands & had a BLAST!
What a great little spot on the coast of Maine! I'm already planning my trip back. Loved my little campsite next to the ocean...I have never slept so well!

Many of the campsites are beautifully secluded in Captain Bill's woods, but the grounds have more of a sporty base camp vibe- almost everyone comes here to kayak out to the many lil islands closeby.
You can rent kayaks. paddleboards or even a sailboat! The family business feel and small scale keeps it pretty medium-key though, and the staff is friendly and helpful. And they catch their own lobster!

We camped in 4 places on our trip up the East Coast and into Canada. The Old Quarry Campground was the most magical and picturesque. We camped in an overflow spot on the pond. There was a little noise from the frogs but we really enjoyed everything about our stay here.

Beautiful, quiet camp site. I was in site 10, a good walk from the car to the site and to the restrooms. I enjoyed the stay. I have to give a 2 out of 10 for customer service. When we arrived, we weren't really welcome to the place or introduce to what was available and maybe just a smile. I felt I had to pull out information to have an idea of the place.

We had a great stay at Old Quarry campground! The campground was pretty empty when we were there, so we had a lot of privacy. The spaces are well equipped with fire pits, tent stages, chairs and picnic tables. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The quarry also does kayak rentals, so we were able to rent kayaks and explore the islands on deer isle. Great experience!

Stayed for one night in late April. Great place!! We stayed at site 9. When we checked in, our lovely host made sure we were prepared for the weather and the tent platforms helped immensely to keep us dry despite a night full of rain. It wasn't quite the weather/season for it yet, but the campgrounds also had kayak/boat rentals (plus more). Side note: very clean bathrooms, plus sites had electric and water, also dog friendly!
Highlights included
- drive-up sites with all the amenities, plus a secluded tent platform
- friendly host and host dog
- well kept land with plenty of room to explore
