This was our second time there, which should say something. It really turned in this place into a great spot to get away and to explore some of Pennsylvania’s Best. Incredibly friendly and caring hosts. My wife, son and I went there to be close to good fishing for opening day at Trout season. It rained nearly nonstop the entire time we were there. Yet, we still had a great time.

My son and I loved this place. If we had property, we would probably do something similar. We ended up at a little better campsite as far as size and work that was put into it. Even though the papermill is down over the hill and you could see and hear it 24 hours it wasn’t bothersome. We had deer in the campsite. It was quiet. The host were respectful and helpful.

The hosts were really nice, thoughtful people. Communication was great. It was nice taking a hike on the property. It’s close to town and has excellent cell service, yet still has the feel of the forest. I recommend the short drive to Saint Mary’s to check out the Straub Brewery.

Beautiful views! Beautiful stonework! From what I could see, every site has the beautiful stone firepits with surrounding stone patio and seating. Ed and Ed were fantastic hosts, very concerned with my comfort and to be sure I had enough activities to enjoy my stay. (There was plenty to do!) HOT Showers, too! And a nice pond with koi, and more beautiful stonework.

I was expecting campsites lined up like row houses but no! The campsites are very private and quaint! They added some beautiful little touches that make it very homey!

I really enjoyed this camping spot!! Directions were great, host was fantastic and very welcoming. There was an outhouse nearby which was nice but something was pretty stinky the first night. The second night there wasn't any sort of smell so that was a relief. Would definitely recommend!

We can’t recommend highly enough—what a super special and unique place this is! Our hosts clearly put a lot of love and time into building this campground for others to enjoy, and are generous with their attention. Site was immaculate (even after a huge party the previous night) and so different from your standard ‘backyard’ RV site. Our boys played tether ball and croquet, we enjoyed the fire pit and outdoor shower, and some of us even slept in the pavilion instead of our camper. Thank you, Lisa and Edward!!

This was our first time ever using hipcamp! Edward Senior greeted us when we came into the campsite. He gave us some great resources and was extremely kind. Edward Junior came later to say hello and play with our dog. Initially we were to be in campsite 1 but moved to campsite 2, thanks to Ed. Jr. We had our own toilet access, and were very close to the hot/cold shower. The pavilion was beautiful and we really enjoyed making smores at the campfire. Tons of wildlife and very close to many attractions. We can't wait to bring our friends next time!

This is a great place to stay! Having access to a nice shower was such a wonderful commodity. The hosts were very informative, helpful and kind. Ed played a game of fetch with our dog which really made Duke happy! Can't wait to come back again to make more memories at such a beautiful property.

Campsite was great! It was clean, large, and well kept. The minifridge was an unexpected perk. Plenty of space to spread out with our larger group. Shower was clean and water was hot. Would definitely stay again.

This place is awesome. It's great for larger groups. If you're planning to rent this site you might want to consider renting the one next to it as well. We were lucky and no one was next to us so the host said we could spread out and take over the space. A freshly washed out porta potty was delivered with a little foot pump for hand washing (so convenient!), and there's an outdoor hot shower very close by. There's an outlet for charging things/lights and there was even a mini fridge we were allowed to use. The host supplies games to play in the big yard. We had 3 dogs with us who had an absolute blast running around the yard space. We also bought farm fresh eggs and wood from the host, which was well worth the price. I would absolutely rent here again and I recommend this place to anyone who loves camping and wants a few extra comforts along the way.

Site 2 - Clarion Heights campground
We had a great time staying at site #2 and the pavilion site which are close together and great for larger groups with campers or tents when booked together. The two sites are far enough away from the other sites to give you plenty of space and a secluded feeling. Overall, we had a great set up with the two sites for our larger group. there was a good-sized field next to the sites which was great for yard games. Also, the new shower building was a nice bonus. (Just one shower stall but it was all you need, and it was clean.) Again, everything was great, we would definitely recommend staying here! Thanks again Ed and Lisa!

We stayed at the pavilion wirh loft. What a great site and very nice campground. The sites are generously spaced. The host is very accommodating. The little extras were so appreciated. Looking forward to going back again soon and seeing the additional developments they have made.

Exactly as promised! Amazing spot that they are currently fixing up/expanding. Deer eating grass by the window! Pavilion would be fabulous for kids to hang out in. Highly recommend!

We car camped here for 2 nights in November. We arrived after dark at around 7 PM, and Ed was right there to greet us. He moved us to a larger site and started a fire for us before we arrived. The site was secluded, had a large fire ring, and had an outhouse near it. I highly recommend this camp site and would camp here again.

This place is so amazing! We’d have loved to stay another day/night, and will definitely come back in the future if we’re near. The hosts were wonderfully helpful and their place is so charming. We had a lovely fire in their fire pit, and everything was so well provisioned. The loft with its warm welcoming lights was perfect! We slept better than we had in so many days here :)

This was the perfect set up knowing the weather was going to change to cold and rainy. The pavilion allowed us to be outside and comfortable and not confined to the tent. The host met us within minutes of arrival. They offered additional ideas of things to do around the area , which turned out to be quite helpful. We will definitely like to visit again.

This was our first hip camp experience, and we could not have asked for better. Lisa and Edward were wonderful hosts and the site was beautiful. They were very accommodating of our last min needs, and if we are ever back in the area, we will definitely be staying here.

Site 1 - Clarion Heights campground
Site #1 (bottom of the hill) was the most private of the sites. We let the hosts know were arriving around dusk, and when we got there they had already started a campfire for us and quickly returned to deliver our farm fresh eggs (firewood and eggs available for nominal fee)! The site is really functional with lots of boulders and an old cable wire spool for "prep"/storage surfaces around the firepit. The hosts also provide a trashcan at the site too. AND there is a perfect setup for a hammock between 2 trees :-) There are several nature paths around the property too. Outhouse was right across the dirt road (50ft), and if you're up for a solar shower, they have one available at the top of the hill along with non-potable water.
The only disclaimers to add to this description :: the property is right near an old mill or refinery of sorts -- so you will hear and smell manufacturing throughout the day/night (including trucks beeping/backing up). It's also pretty close to "town" and overlooks the valley, so you will hear some noise pollution mixed in with the serene nature sounds.
