The campsite is off-the-beaten path so you'll be away from the crowds, yet the site is still close to other area attractions like Lake Pend Oreille (10 min. drive), charming downtown Sandpoint (15 min. drive) and Silverwood Theme Park (30 min. drive). The beauty and allure of Mirror Lake led to it being featured in two Hollywood movies -- Dante's Peak (1997) and Mel (1998). The lake itself is excellent for fishing, and stocked with Kokanee, Brook Trout, Rainbow Trout, and Cutthroat Trout. The stocking is typically scheduled for the first week of June each year, so if you are an angler, it's best to come after June 7th for the best fishing. Paying homage to the Bigfoot legend in northern Idaho, the theme of this campground is all things Sasquatch! Can you find all 9 Sasquatch hiding throughout the campground? Swimming in nearby Talache Landing (a.k.a. Talache Beach) on the shores of Lake Pend Oreille is an absolute must-do. The views are absolutely stunning and the water is crystal clear -- and quite refreshing on a hot day. Fishing is best done in a canoe or small boat which can be put in at our campground dock (free) or at the nearby public boat ramp ($5 fee). When selecting your campsite, please take note of the following: Best lake views: Sites A, C and D. (Sites 1, 2, 3, E and F have partially obstructed lake views due to trees.) Easiest RV access: Site B. It's a pull-through site. Most private: Sites A, B, 1, 2 and 3, or Sites C/D or E/F, when booked in pairs. (Do not book C/D or E/F for complete privacy unless you book them in pairs.) Most shade: Sites A, E and F. Sunniest: Sites B, C and D. Electric access: Sites B, C and D. (C/D share a power pedestal.) This is a very private and quiet place, more of a sanctuary and not a party place. The only thing you hear is nature, a breeze through the pine trees, the birds, and the creek. This property was and is an organic permaculture farm in the forest. There are two orchards and an organic garden. The water is from a spring. The La Luna cabin is no longer off grid, but if the power does go out, it's a great place to be.. Hot Showers at my cabins are private and outdoors. There's nothing more wonderful than a hot spring-fed shower. The toilets are composting. (No water is wasted here)! Two of the cabins were built from the trees on the property by the first family that lived here in the earlier 1900s. The Birds Nest cabin was originally a tool shed that needed a LOT of Love to be in the condition that it is today. It does have power, running water and wi-fi. There is the option to take an acrylic painting class, banjo, guitar or fiddle lessons, paddleboard lessons, and have a real old-timey campfire with a glass of wine or two with live music performed by our famous Fiddlin Red on the fiddle, banjo, and guitar. Your experience here may change your life forever! We haven't added all the experiential options yet, so if there is something you are interested in please inquire. Every year we make it more and more magical and interesting. It's four miles up a county-maintained dirt road and one mile to a non-motorized lake. I can't see my neighbors, but they are awesome artists and musicians and some of them are off the grid! If you're bringing a pet, they must be on a leash and be quiet pets. If you are bringing a child they also need to be quiet and respectful. I want to keep my neighbors and my other guests happy with a peaceful atmosphere. Thank you!

We are located down a dead-end road, approximately 18 miles from downtown Sandpoint, with all it has to offer, yummy restaurants, Cedar Street Public Market, music concerts, the Bonner County Fair and don't miss City Beach no matter the weather, maybe even take a lake tour. We are 12 miles from The Idaho Club and just 22 miles from Schweitzer and some of the most breathtaking views around. There is always something to do and see on the mountain. Trestle Creek Park on the shore of Lake Pend Oreille, is another of our favorite places and it's only a 16-mile drive through some of the most picturesque areas of the NW. After a fun filled day exploring North Idaho come and relax at The Lost Fainting Goat Ranch, an amusing name for a place we call home. There is a separate private driveway, and you will have the whole camp area to yourselves, yet we aren't far away should a need arise. You may occasionally hear us (4 busy kids, 1 fat cat, 2 friendly dogs, 1 noisy rooster and 11 happy hens yet still no fainting goats) but we want you to feel like you are in your own private sanctuary. We are offering a new furnished bell tent in a secluded area of our private property in the beautiful mountains of Sandpoint Idaho. Our camp area is along a quiet creek that is visited by deer, wild turkey, squirls and even the occasional moose. There are also those less desirable critters that live in nature like insects, and we do try and mitigate those troublemakers with screens, traps, Diatomaceous Earth and other natural means. This area of our property is off grid with a wonderful shower house built from wood milled from our own land, complete with hot water and a compost toilet. We even provide Starlink WiFi and a way to charge cell phones thanks to our solar charged batteries. There is a fire pit, comfy chairs, a beautiful picnic table, again, made from wood from our own land, and a screened in area with cooking supplies. Our family enjoys hosting guests and we enjoy meeting new people. The most common phrase we heard when we first moved here was "Welcome to Idaho!" We hope you love it here as much as we do. When you reserve your time with us, please look for messages regarding directions and check-in instructions, we like to meet everyone to show you around and it gets pretty dark out here in the country and the cell coverage is pretty spotty in our area. We have created this place and lived here for over 20 years. Our two boys who are 17 and 20 love to play and create their own piece of heaven. We desire to share it with others and allow them to see the magic of yurt living. We also live in a 30-ft yurt on the property that is our special place. Learn more about this land: This 14-foot yurt is a short walk of about 50 yards from the guest parking. You will pass our 30-ft family yurt going to your own private space. The property has a great remote feeling and has space to move around. There is a queen custom bed and room for a child or two on the floor if desired. There is a small gravity feed water system for the yurt and your own private outhouse. Plenty of wood for you to stay warm by the fire inside and an outdoor shower shared by our family. The kitchen comes with pots and pans, plates, etc. and a few extras. You will hear the sounds of nature and North Idaho at times out in your yurt as trains pass through the valley to Canada. We are 1.5 miles away from the tracks. If you are into being independent and open to new experiences then we would love to share our space with you. Please pull in the drive and pull up past the big garage and park to the left by the Yurt Parking Sign. Then walk towards the trail sign and follow the path. Recommended for you to bring a headlamp and outdoor slippers to walk to the outhouse or shower during your stay. We have towels at the yurt for your use. We can provide a Therm-a-rest bed for your child if needed. Please bring your own wood for outside fires at the fire pit. Currently there is fire restriction in effect.

This place is magical! The cabin is adorable and very cozy. There’s little lanterns in the trees which are a great touch at night. The water is super close and the fishing dock is wonderful to sit on while watching sunset. It was so quiet and peaceful. The restroom was super clean and near by. It’s a very well kept and beautiful location.

Beautiful site! I stayed at site A, and it's a cozy, tiny cabin, but the site itself felt like a ton of space. Clean, private, and on the lake! I saw a ton of wildlife too. And it's cheaper than most places would be for what you get. Will be going back sooner than later! Nathaniel was a great host too. My only feedback would be to include signs to the garbage disposal. I tried to find it after dark and got lost even with the map (this may be user error so take it with a grain of salt).

Weekend Trip to Cozy Mountain Bungalow

The cabin was great - it was a small shed converted into a cabin that had a single (full-sized? queen?) bed with a rocking chair, an armoir, and a small closet. The bathroom was an attached outhouse with sawdust to soak up waste and neutralize any smells. They provided a camping sink with 5 gallons of water, a camping gas stove, a citranella candle, and plates, bowls, and utensils. The cabin sits towards the middle of the driveway to the hosts' house and they have the friendliest dog. My son and I had a great time. Zero light pollution, no noise pollution, just fresh north Idaho air.

Weekend Trip to Hymas Family Farm Stay

We loved our stay at the farm! The tent was private in the woods and we came up to the farm’s shop for fresh ice cream and fresh eggs and also paid extra to help milk a cow haha our daughter loved the cows! The zipper didn’t work on the tent but otherwise everything was so lovely. We used the cook stove and they had some cook supplies in there too which was super nice. Would definitely recommend , I always wanted to try out glamping and the whole family had a lot of fun with it.

Headed through on a cross country road trip and found this sweet campground on the way. We rented a cabin but loved the tent sites so much that if we're passing through again, we'll take one of those. The cabin was clean, comfy and a short walk to the bathrooms. The tent sites are large, separated by nice fences and have a pavilion kitchen available that even includes a microwave. The staff was kind and helpful. I bought a couple of bundles of wood and it was delivered to our site before I walked back. The office has a small store in case you forgot some camping essentials.

Weekend Trip to Lost Fainting Goat Ranch

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Chris and Michal’s campsite! They have loaded it with everything you could need, plus a ton of extras, to make for the best camping experience. The location was perfect and just what we were looking for- close enough to town and the lake, but far enough to see the starts at night and listen to nature. 10/10 experience and I hope we can visit again!

Weekend Trip to Paradise on Mirror Lake

We had a wonderful visit. This is our 2nd visit. The lake has alot of Lilly pads but we went out and went swimming at Lake Pend Orielle and had a great time. The lil cabin is nice to put all of our stuff in so that it doesn't clutter the tent. The burn ban was in effect but we still sat around the fire pit and listened to all the sounds. The frogs were making music. So many turkeys and deer. Such a gorgeous view. Will be back again!

Weekend Trip to Paradise on Mirror Lake

This was the first Hipcamp experience for us and it was a good one. The lake was peaceful and the little cabin so cute. I loved how easy it was to book and the communication and detail on locating the place was great. We lucked out with this tiny gem. When we arrived it was beautiful and sunny but within 20 minutes or so a storm complete with big hail came rolling in. Having the cabin for shelter was nice during the storm even though it was short lived. It was a cozy spot. The touch of having solar lanterns gave it a special touch for the evening. The extras like a cot and sleeping pads was a help. I would recommend this place. Next hopefully we can stay longer to explore more.

2 nights at 7B Cabin

We had a fantastic stay at the cabin. It is a cute and cozy space, not too far from coeur d’alene but outside the city enough to avoid the noise and city lights. The dogs felt really comfortable and were able to run around and explore. We had all the comforts of home away from home and Aran was a really welcoming and responsive host. Would love to go again in the colder months to stoke a fire and enjoy the beautiful scenery in winter

Riley Creek Campground

We stayed here for the Memorial Day Weekend of 2019. Did not have a reservation so we headed up early for a First Come First Serve site with friends and it worked out great, however the site was filled by Friday. It was extremely clean. Showers, and bathrooms were cleaned daily. Power and water hook ups were very well maintained. The only issues I had was the water pressure was so high even with a reducer on. We felt very safe and loved the rangers that came around and said hello. Will absolutely be coming back.

Look for sites on the west side. Great views of the lake and quiet!

Great campground!! Great facilities (drinkable water out of multiple spickets, bathrooms with coin operated showers, and dish washing stations!!). We had spot 26 which was perfect when we were there; the hangout spot (fire pit and picnic table) is right next to #25, which could be annoying if the wrong person was occupying, but could be amazing if you were traveling with another group that could occupy that space. The beach and dock are a very short walk. When we were at Springy Point it was heavy on the children, which was a little annoying at times down at the beach and dock as one not having kids. The dock area can be heavily trafficked with boats being launched in at the public boat ramp. Very short drive to town of Sandpoint!!
