If you are looking for quietude, this is your spot! Twenty acres situated minutes from lakes, rivers and US Forest Service land. Partly forested and partly pasture land, we boast Aspen, Fir, Spruce and Pine trees. Wildlife that commonly pass through include coyote, elk, deer and badger. Lots of bird life from woodpeckers and blue jays to eagles and owls. Fuel, groceries and river access available a short fifteen minute drive away.

We are located down a dead-end road, approximately 18 miles from downtown Sandpoint, with all it has to offer, yummy restaurants, Cedar Street Public Market, music concerts, the Bonner County Fair and don't miss City Beach no matter the weather, maybe even take a lake tour. We are 12 miles from The Idaho Club and just 22 miles from Schweitzer and some of the most breathtaking views around. There is always something to do and see on the mountain. Trestle Creek Park on the shore of Lake Pend Oreille, is another of our favorite places and it's only a 16-mile drive through some of the most picturesque areas of the NW. After a fun filled day exploring North Idaho come and relax at The Lost Fainting Goat Ranch, an amusing name for a place we call home. There is a separate private driveway, and you will have the whole camp area to yourselves, yet we aren't far away should a need arise. You may occasionally hear us (4 busy kids, 1 fat cat, 2 friendly dogs, 1 noisy rooster and 11 happy hens yet still no fainting goats) but we want you to feel like you are in your own private sanctuary. We are offering a new furnished bell tent in a secluded area of our private property in the beautiful mountains of Sandpoint Idaho. Our camp area is along a quiet creek that is visited by deer, wild turkey, squirls and even the occasional moose. There are also those less desirable critters that live in nature like insects, and we do try and mitigate those troublemakers with screens, traps, Diatomaceous Earth and other natural means. This area of our property is off grid with a wonderful shower house built from wood milled from our own land, complete with hot water and a compost toilet. We even provide Starlink WiFi and a way to charge cell phones thanks to our solar charged batteries. There is a fire pit, comfy chairs, a beautiful picnic table, again, made from wood from our own land, and a screened in area with cooking supplies. Our family enjoys hosting guests and we enjoy meeting new people. The most common phrase we heard when we first moved here was "Welcome to Idaho!" We hope you love it here as much as we do. When you reserve your time with us, please look for messages regarding directions and check-in instructions, we like to meet everyone to show you around and it gets pretty dark out here in the country and the cell coverage is pretty spotty in our area. Along the driveway where the Cabinet Mountain Wilderness can best be seen across our grassy pond, the view has always captivated us, so we dropped a tiny cabin here. It’s a magical rustic blend of off-grid simplicity and curated luxury.
We built the Cabin with the intention of doing things differently and because we believe we’ve succeeded in this concept, finding the words to define it has been a challenge. It’s somewhere between guest lodge and summer camp.
When you come here, you have to expect that you’ll also be doing things differently. Like preparing your food over the outdoor fire or the outdoor cook stove, and heating water to wash the enamel plates in a basin after your meal. And in learning how to use the composting toilet (don’t worry, it’s in a room of its own off the front porch!). Instead of a shower, you’ll have a forest sauna and a dip in the creek. Bring your ice chest and your favorite camp cooking meals. You can find details on exactly what is provided below.
The single room has handcrafted custom everything from the queen sized bed to the built in counter. Outfitted with a blend of vintage treasures and thoughtfully sourced high quality pieces like the tiny wood stove with a glowing glass front and the organic linens inviting you in.
This is a space for you to soak in nature and connect over the campfire, or across the board game by the light of candles. When the sky is clear you’ll be able to stargaze from bed and when you wake you’ll be greeted by ducks on the pond and a ceramic mug waiting for it’s French pressed coffee. Slip on your boots and your coziest sweater for a walk down the driveway. Reconnect to the simplicity that is possible in this life.
Due to the rural location, you have access to hiking trails, lakes, ponds, and rivers literally within walking distance. Relax, go for a run, hike into the mountains, swim, whatever suits your fancy. This is a relatively secluded location. The cabin is within seeing distance to our main house where we live, and you'll also see another occupied cabin to the right of the pond (our friendly neighbors). We give you lots of privacy but are also happy to visit. We'll let you lead the way!

Located roughly halfway between Kalispell and Eureka, we’re an hour’s drive from Glacier Park. There are many lakes and trails off the beaten path that are closer. Ten Lakes Scenic Area is 60 miles to the north.
Good Creek Meadows is off grid and cell service is spotty - a great place to relax and enjoy nature. No shower, but a toilet (water flushing compost system) and camp kitchen are available for two cabins and one campsite to share. The sites are generously spaced and feel private. Each cabin has a hammock, deck, and cafe table and chairs. There is also a shared picnic table and campfire ring to use when conditions are safe.
We’re happy to advise on ways to take advantage of the many outdoor recreation opportunities in the area, as well as how to explore the property without getting lost:)

For skiing Fernie, Whitefish Mountain, and Turner Mountain are all within about a forty-five-minute or less drive! Make sure you check out Cafe Jax 3 for the $7.00 breakfast menu, the Old Red Barn, and The Montana Farmacy Soap Saloon, which has candies and all sorts of goodies! Your host makes and sells gift baskets with Montana items and Lemon Grass Spa and Makeup Products! The cabin has electricity but no running water at this point. We spent 3 nights in the yurt here. It rained quite a bit and the temperatures got pretty chilly, but the yurt had an electric heater, that kept us more than comfortable. 2 adults, 2 children under 10 and our dog. We had plenty of room outside to cook and hang out. The yurt was thoughtfully arranged to feel plenty spacious and comfortable for the 5 of us. You cannot beat the location of this hipcamp. We spent 3 days in the park, but it is conviently close to Kalispell and Whitefish as well. We will definitely stay again.

Shayne and Ryder are great people! Very friendly and they made sure that we had everything we needed when we checked in. Shayne even took our son to feed the horses and play with the goats while we unloaded our stuff. The Airstream was comfy and clean and Ryder made sure we knew how to work everything. It's very close to a couple different parks on the lake for swimming, fishing, etc. We'd definitely stay with them again!

Chris and Michal were such great hosts! We had a wonderful, peaceful time. They have everything from cooking supplies to a warm outdoor shower. The surrounding area is beautiful as well with many swimming places and yummy food. I would absolutely recommend this place and can’t wait to come back!

It as such a beautiful place to get away to for the weekend. Close yet not too close to the city and the surrounding ranches were gorgeous. Highly recommend coming to this place if you want to get away and being in the quiet countryside and woods area.

Weekend Trip to Stillwater Getaway
Ryan is an excellent host and very welcoming. He shared some of the history of the camp which we found interesting. We really liked the "Always Open" club house/kitchen with many games and books.

1 night at Lost Fainting Goat Ranch
We had such a lovely stay at Chris and Michal's yurt! Michal met us on arrival and provided all the info and supplies we needed; she was such a warm, communicative, helpful, generous host! The site had everything we needed for an impromptu glamping stay on our trip to Idaho: all cooking supplies (and even some treats!), a shower/bathroom outhouse (with nice hot water), a cozy yurt with comfy bed, and even a roaring fire already started! We had a magical night under the twinkly lights, making s'mores, star gazing, and soaking up the beautiful Idaho wilderness. The site is only 30 minutes from downtown Sandpoint, but wonderfully secluded (though close to our hosts if we needed anything). We highly recommend enjoying Chris and Michal's wonderful site and hospitality!

1 night at Lost Paddle and Pole
I did love being here. The host were very nice. No AC inside but it was not needed as fans and the tent is under a tree. More than cool enough. Just know that there is no showers.

1 night at Mountain Quest Tipi
What wonderful spot! The bed was very comfortable. The kitchen & bath are easily accessed next to the sleeping quarters. The astronaut toilet is cool. When I get home, I’m getting one just for shits & giggles. All sorts of outdoor seating options with a gas fire pit. Great view too - you can see Canada from there!

Weekend Trip to Lost Paddle and Pole
I loved the yurt it was so cute and comfy. They paid attention to details. Has a cute electric fireplace to keep you warm on cold nights. No shower on property but down the road there is a place you can shower (5$ cash clean). Convenient porta potties with well lit path to get to them.

We spent just one night at Alexander Creek on our way to Houston, but it was a lovely, peaceful night! The location is super convenient to hwy 36 and close to amenities in Hamilton. Wendy was very helpful and communicative! The facilities are super clean and charming, with a great common area w/ac and a full kitchen for common use-even a keurig and coffee pods! Bathrooms and showers were clean with lots of hot water. We’ll definitely plan to stay here again next time we pass this way!
