COME AND EXPERIENCE BEAUTIFUL NORTH IDAHO!!! We are located down a dead-end road, approximately 18 miles from downtown Sandpoint, with all it has to offer, yummy restaurants, Cedar Street Public Market, music concerts, the Bonner County Fair and don't miss City Beach no matter the weather, maybe even take a lake tour. We are 12 miles from The Idaho Club and just 22 miles from Schweitzer and some of the most breathtaking views around. There is always something to do and see on the mountain. Trestle Creek Park on the shore of Lake Pend Oreille, is another of our favorite places and it's only a 16-mile drive through some of the most picturesque areas of the NW. After a fun filled day exploring North Idaho come and relax at The Lost Fainting Goat Ranch, an amusing name for a place we call home. There is a separate private driveway, and you will have the whole camp area to yourselves, yet we aren't far away should a need arise. You may occasionally hear us (4 busy kids, 1 fat cat, 2 friendly dogs, 1 noisy rooster and 11 happy hens yet still no fainting goats) but we want you to feel like you are in your own private sanctuary. We are offering a new furnished bell tent in a secluded area of our private property in the beautiful mountains of Sandpoint Idaho. Our camp area is along a quiet creek that is visited by deer, wild turkey, squirls and even the occasional moose. There are also those less desirable critters that live in nature like insects, and we do try and mitigate those troublemakers with screens, traps, Diatomaceous Earth and other natural means. This area of our property is off grid with a wonderful shower house built from wood milled from our own land, complete with hot water and a compost toilet. We even provide Starlink WiFi and a way to charge cell phones thanks to our solar charged batteries. There is a fire pit, comfy chairs, a beautiful picnic table, again, made from wood from our own land, and a screened in area with cooking supplies. Our family enjoys hosting guests and we enjoy meeting new people. The most common phrase we heard when we first moved here was "Welcome to Idaho!" We hope you love it here as much as we do. When you reserve your time with us, please look for messages regarding directions and check-in instructions, we like to meet everyone to show you around and it gets pretty dark out here in the country and the cell coverage is pretty spotty in our area. We truly want you to have a relaxing experience and good communication helps us serve you better. Cozy linen and warm fuzzy blankets are provided as well as washcloths and towels for each guest. There is a screened tent with some cooking essentials and a picnic table underneath solar lights for your enjoyment. There is also a fire pit with a couple comfy chairs sitting along the creek. We only have one site available at this time so guests will have the camp area all to themselves including the new shower house and compost toilet. Potable water is provided. Water for the shower and sink is supplied by our well via storage tank on a trailer, so we request that guests are mindful with water usage, but we are happy to refill the tank when needed just let us know when it is getting low.

We had a great stay at Chris and Michal's place! It was the perfect mix of luxury (good tent, great kitchen set up, hot water) and camping (on a sweet little creek, very private). Our hosts were also very attentive and helpful and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and welcome.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Chris and Michal’s campsite! They have loaded it with everything you could need, plus a ton of extras, to make for the best camping experience. The location was perfect and just what we were looking for- close enough to town and the lake, but far enough to see the starts at night and listen to nature. 10/10 experience and I hope we can visit again!

This site was just so awesome and beautiful. we loved exploring and finding cute frogs in the creek. Hosts were amazing and provide an awesome atmosphere and supplies for convenience of not having to pack all the camping gear. Thank you Chris and Michal.

Chris and Michal were such great hosts! We had a wonderful, peaceful time. They have everything from cooking supplies to a warm outdoor shower. The surrounding area is beautiful as well with many swimming places and yummy food. I would absolutely recommend this place and can’t wait to come back!

Magical Stay, Fantastic Host!

We had such a lovely stay at Chris and Michal's yurt! Michal met us on arrival and provided all the info and supplies we needed; she was such a warm, communicative, helpful, generous host! The site had everything we needed for an impromptu glamping stay on our trip to Idaho: all cooking supplies (and even some treats!), a shower/bathroom outhouse (with nice hot water), a cozy yurt with comfy bed, and even a roaring fire already started! We had a magical night under the twinkly lights, making s'mores, star gazing, and soaking up the beautiful Idaho wilderness. The site is only 30 minutes from downtown Sandpoint, but wonderfully secluded (though close to our hosts if we needed anything). We highly recommend enjoying Chris and Michal's wonderful site and hospitality!

It as such a beautiful place to get away to for the weekend. Close yet not too close to the city and the surrounding ranches were gorgeous. Highly recommend coming to this place if you want to get away and being in the quiet countryside and woods area.

Beautiful Oasis in the Woods

What a wonderful hidden gem this was where we were able to unplug and enjoy nature with a fully set up Oasis in the woods! Chris & Michal truly thought of everything down to the smallest details with every necessity you could possibly need when experiencing the outdoors! The Yurt with a fully made bed, end tables, WiFi, cute accent rugs, touch lamps, an outdoor bathroom/shower combo, towels,, campfire area and beautiful lights strung throughout each of the areas designated for every element you’d expect to find when camping…and that doesn’t even begin to cover all the personal touches! If you are looking for a place to reset from life’s busyness, this is the perfect place to escape away to! This will now be an annual destination for us, and can’t wait to return! Chris & Michal are absolutely amazing, kind and caring people who go great lengths to ensure your experience is everything you wish it to be! To you both, thank you so much for the gift it was to get to know you and to allow us this much needed reset from life! You have created a beautiful ambiance and experience that I know many will enjoy for years to come!

Healing in The Cedars

My very first Hipcamp booking!!! After a summer in the city, I was badly in need of some time in the forest. I had a morning appointment in Sandpoint and was stressed about the situation. I arrived at the Ranch later than anticipated. Michal met me at the mailbox and guided me down into the campsite to a gentle landing just a few feet from the cheerfully lit tent. There was a fire crackling in the outdoor firepit...a full tea pot ready to make a warm drink in the lovely outdoor kitchen and a waning full moon on the rise. I sat next to the fire in the moonlit forest for a very long time that night, surrounded by buck snort and owl speak...made grilled cheese on the campfire...enjoyed delicious coffee in the morning. My rest was cozy in the beautiful tent set up for "posh glamping"...and the solar powered out door shower in the crisp morning air was deeeevine!!! Michal even let me come back up after my appointment to spend a little Time beneath the beautiful cedars by the tiny brook. It was absolutely wonderful!!! My furbaby, Lucy, and I had such a grand first experience!!! Thank you Michal and Chris for creating this sacred space in the healing forest!!! It was the perfect close to a long, hot summer in the city around soooo many people. I look forward to my next Hipcamp experience...and to my return visit to Lost Fainting Goat Ranch!!! Thank you for your wonderful hospitality!!!

Chris and Michal were wonderful hosts. The tent site was very well put together with a beautiful table and fire pit. They made sure everything was stocked and ready to go. The outhouse and shower were great as well. Will definitely come back again Thanks!!!!
