This 60 acre property is located approximately 3 miles east of San Gregorio Beach in the San Gregorio area. There is no home here, only a travel trailer on the Upper Meadow. It is very peaceful, quiet and beautiful throughout the seasons. We are 5 minutes away from the San Gregorio General Store and cafe and 20 minutes from Alice's Restaurant. We have great cell coverage for Verizon, AT&T and Visible. Experience shows that T-Mobile does not work here and I don't know about the other internet providers. There are four campsites, each with easy 4WD access. Two of the sites offer total isolation with amazing views while the third site, while in a nice setting, is more useful for a quick overnight stay with no views of the ocean or canyon. Please note that five easy-going cows (no bulls) reside on this property. Dear winter and spring campers, please consider using "Sensible Weather" for your trip protection in the event of heavy rain or even high temperatures in the summer and fall. I have not used this insurance feature but the description makes it look worth considering, available when reserving on Hipcamp.

A world renoun mountain bike spot with intermediate to experienced trails for riders of all levels. 5 miles down the road as well is buzzard lagoon and is a great Dirt biking/4-wheeling location. It is a fun spot for all off road inthusiast! Your camping site is on a flat plateu and is an ideal spot to park your trailer, motorhome or tent camp. With Complete privacy with views of the pacific ocean and South county's Monterey bay with a 180 degree view as well as San jose and Morgan Hill. For the wine inthusiast, Loma Prieta winery is 5.5 miles away along with Windy Oaks Winery that is 3.7 miles away that is located on the "Wine trail" that has alots of winerys to offer in a beautiful location. A Day of fun for the family at Gilroy Gardens that is 15.5 miles away. The beach is 30-40 minutes away with great surfing and body boarding up and down the coastline. When in route once you get off the paved road from north or south stay on the dirt road for 15-20 more minutes. The location is very private it is on its own parcel with a gate. There are also wonderful wineries throughout the mountains here. The trip to the site will begin with a three mile drive on a private dirt road.  Being on the very top of a mountain brings more seasonality than the surrounding cities.   Please be prepared for any kind of extreme weather. Summer: Shade is highly recommended it can get into triple digits. *Spring/fall: Temperatures are generally mild but high winds are possible. *Winter: Typically cold and windy. *During rainy/muddy conditions 4x4/AWD is highly recommended.  It is possible for it to get windy, foggy, rainy, hot and sunny, and even sometimes snowy. Please note: the nearest grocer is 30 minutes from this site. Emergency supplies are available for delivery to your campsite. Cell phone reception is good on most carriers.  Pets are allowed.  Enjoy your time howling at the moon, star gazing, bird watching/wildlife viewing, or relaxing with your favorite libation. Don't forget your camera! Since this is our first year renting our land we have found that August is a high wasp season time in the mountains. Excellent Group Site! We only host one group at a time so you can be with your family and friends in a large, flat and private space. Choose between the campground, the cabin, or both! You can add the cabin to your campground stay under "extras'! The land was originally purchased in the 1980's. Since then, it has been used by four generations of the family as a place to gather, relax, camp and even celebrate. I had my wedding on the property in 2010. For a few years we held an annual music festival with the very inventive name of Samapalooza. Up to 400 people would attend the day filled with live music, food and drinks. You will still find the stage and bar we built as an outdoor kitchen and dining area. Around 2008, my father and I planted our first olive trees. Many have been planted since which has gifted the land the timeless sense of purpose it deserves. My father dedicated his last years to tending the young trees and now I have taken the mantle to carry the farm forward. 'The Property', as it is known amongst family and friends has always been a place to camp. I have sat around the same fire ring for decades, rain or shine. I hope that fellow hipcampers can find the joy that my family and I have experienced here. This is a very private camp on a small olive farm. Geographically close to highways and the town of Novato, Sonoma and Napa wine country, this camp feels remote and secluded. Only one camp on the property to keep it private and special. You basically have your run of the land. We have just updated the land and made some nice improvements. Located on ten acres, you will drive past a small olive grove before reaching the spacious and open campground. Just up the hill from the camp is a private pond where you can fish, take out a small boat or just sit and watch the birds. It can be great swimming on hot summer days. This spot has been used by the family for decades and is now open to share with fellow nature lovers. Just a note: While the majority of the time you can expect complete privacy, this is a working olive farm. From time to time you may run into me (Sam) or someone else associated with the land. We will always do our best to respect your space.

Great place, Ferry isn't always running, one is completely down, the other has "occasional" staffing issues, the one that got us to Rio Vista was open, so good their. Rabbits everywhere!....little cute ones. The are in the process of "updating", so good job there, lots of nooks and crannies to fish from, can't wait to get back!

Site right on the water! Can’t find that for the price these days. Everyone is so friendly. Older campground with renovations in the works. Will be a gem once updates are complete. NOTE- Campground is hard to find if dependent on any of the online driving directions (Waze/mapquest/ etc). so when getting directions you must click “avoid ferries” box if you are an RV or have a travel trailer, but our Waze/mapquest kept wanting to update with new faster directions as we drove there that constantly led us to the ferry which you can not take with a travel trailer. Suggest getting directions and screenshot them and write down directions prior to leaving on trip otherwise your navigation system will steer you the wrong way. Make sure you have everything you need since a store is 30 min away. Plan accordingly with the above and you will have a great time!

Such a quiet and serene stay. We were pleasantly surprised that we had the place pretty much to ourselves. We can imagine the weekends being filled with bustling campers and boaters. Janna was flexible in allowing us to move to a site nestled under a set of beautiful trees as we awaited the RV repair for our air conditioning! The breeze was nice and watching the sunlight dancing on the water was just what we needed to start our getaway trip. We were able to back our van right up to the dock at the Delta! It was so peaceful that we stayed another night!

Weekend Trip to Lupin Lodge

I stumbled into the 92nd birthday of Lupin Lodge and it was so cute and fun! I successfully drove my 35ft long RV into and out of the super narrow and windey driveway with no issue! Everyone was super friendly and welcoming. The only issue was that dinner was so popular that the kitchen ran out of the main dish, but overall amazing weekend.

The place was immaculate and nestled in the best area in between the Boardwalk and Capitola. Bike Trails everywhere for E-Bikes and Electric Scooters. I would definitely go back there again!

Weekend Trip to Unhitched Snug Harbor RV Park & Marina

Campground sits on a slough and water was beautiful. No major party interruptions and many regulars. The afternoon breeze was a dream ion a 100 degrees day. Sites are very close to one another. I wish there were more grocery re stock options less than 40 minutes out.

Weekend Trip to Redwood Meadows

Shannon is a gracious and welcoming host. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay on her property. It's the kind of place that makes you wonder about the history of the property. Multiple old structures amidst the redwood trees and wildlife. Yes there is some occasional road noise but the property feels safe and secluded. No issues for a quiet and restful sleep. Lots of room to walk around or relax under the trees. The electric hookups are nice to have as well. If you are looking for a place not far from DT Saratoga and hiking trails that feels like a campsite to yourself then I would highly recommend.

Backed up into the gate and set up. Easy peasy.

Weekend Trip to Paradise Valley Cattle Company

The site was really clean and well kept, easy to back into, and the power and water were in good working order. It was a quiet area with nice big trees and some shade, which was exactly what I needed. Brian, the host, brought us some cow treats to feed to the adorable cows, which we thought was a nice touch. Would 100% recommend.

Weekend Trip to Unhitched Snug Harbor RV Park & Marina

We had a wonderful stay at Snug Harbor RV Park & Marina! The park is peaceful, clean, and a great place to relax with the family. We especially want to thank Jana for her outstanding hospitality and kindness. During our stay, we had a couple of small issues with our campsite, and she went above and beyond to help us. She was able to move us to a much better site, which made a huge difference and allowed us to fully enjoy our weekend. Jana truly cares about her guests and made us feel welcome from start to finish. Thanks to her help, our family had an amazing and memorable stay. We highly recommend this RV park and will definitely be happy to come back in the future. Thank you again, Jana.
