In late summer, early fall, there is a feeling of calm. The river slows significantly but still feels amazing to sit in. You can hear its gentle flow and soothing sound as it trickles over the rocks. This is a great time time to explore the river as it is mostly shallow with some swim holes. Most of the time it is very quiet. There is another camp down stream owned by a wonderful family. They are here a couple times per week, and also rent their camp. You may hear them having fun and engaging in target practice. The river is a shared space but it is rare to see anyone else. Noise travels in the canyon so you may hear occasional barking or other vehicles. Hearing coyotes sing at night is very common. On site there are great well cared for amenities such as well kept showers, kitchen/common area and a local watering hole equipped with kayaks. It is also situated very close to many things. We visited bass lake and sugar pine railroad. The staff were all very kind and welcoming. Look forward to coming back to this site.

It is about 10 minutes from town making it easy to pick up food if necessary, and about 10 minutes from Bass Lake making it a great spot to use a base camp for lake activities. The site itself is very nice. It is large, shaded, and includes water and power, as well as a short walk to the owner’s bathroom facilities with full shower. In addition, it is just down the hill (literally a two minute walk) to the amazing creek and waterfall area where you can relax, play, hike, and picnic. We loved staying here with our pups and would highly recommend it for anybody looking for a private camping spot with their dogs.

The cabin was incredibly charming. The hosts were very communicative and helpful if I needed something. The location was perfect if you just wanted a little time away, or you wanted a bass camp close to Yosemite. . There is a bathroom and shower in walking distance, but I would recommend driving. There’s a tiny toilet with compostable bags right outside the door for your convenience. The bed was comfortable and there was an air conditioner, a mini fridge, microwave and ceiling fan.. It was truly worth the price and exceeded my expectations. I will definitely be coming back.

Amazing!!! site 8 was perfect shady and close to the water! the ice cream shop with the fruit trees for you to pick was the cherry on top! just watch out for the bats at night they are kinda loud but that’s nature for you!!! other then that 10/10 will be back soon!!
