Named for its epic view of Mount Thielsen (duh), this lakeside campground is a fisherman’s favorite. Situated on the west shore of Diamond Lake, this large campground is a diamond in the rough. The rugged views and crystal blue water will go great with your RV or deluxe campsite. Drinking water, toilets, garbage disposal, and a boat ramp mean you get to spend all your energy chasing tail (fish tail, that is). Paved bike paths offer scenic adventures for the water-averse. Reserve twenty of the sixty campsites here and check seasonal closure information here.

Very quiet location and very close to Crater Lake National Park. You will be right on a recreational lake, did a walk-in around noon and plenty of open spots in late July.

Insane amounts of mosquitos. Jumping in the (kindof gross) lake was the only escape!

We got lucky and got the last spot here on a Saturday on a summer afternoon. Nice sites. Tons of RVs...expect the hum of generators to cut through the serenity of nature starting around 7:30am.

Very good hiking nearby. Definitely not a bad spot to pitch a tent for a night or two.

The mosquitos will literally eat you alive during the summer here. The marshes and creeks that surround the lake make perfect grounds for the vermin. Make sure to bring plenty of repellant.
