Welcome to our secret getaway. A place where you can go to truly get away from the world to slow down, breathe deep, and rejuvenate. We bought this 80-acre juniper ranch as a passion project to regenerate the land and bring back biodiversity. We are in the early stages and are working on increasing the soil biology through successional planting, composting teas, and rotational grazing. By staying here, not only do you get to relax in an amazing spot with double mountain views (Wy’east and Pahto, known by their Anglo names as Mt Hood and Mt Adam’s), but your eco-tourism dollars are going towards the viability of the project. About the area: Experience the outdoor paradise that is Central Oregon. Relax, unplug and enjoy stunning views of snow capped volcanoes. Explore the region known for world renowned fly fishing, rafting, cycling, hiking and biking.

Our property is located 8 miles from downtown Maupin where there is a market that sells food and alcohol, a local fly fishing shop, and other small restaurants. There are tons of rafting and fishing outfitters in town.

Unlike campsites that are closer into town, ours doesn't have a train running at all hours of the night creating a somewhat jarring camping experience. Not to mention the sites in town can get crowded.

The property was definitely secluded. I came from a day of exploring mount hood and was pleasantly surprised to find the weather 10 degrees warmer (just 30 mins away). The lockbox and gate were easy. I wouldn’t recommend a regular sedan drive through the property. But you could always park at the entrance and walk your camp gear over. I had a pickup truck. Outhouse on site, if that isn’t clear in the description.

Easy to find and exactly as described. Stars were spectacular. Neal is helpful and responsive to any questions/concerns.

Beware of desert wildlife (particularly coyotes and porcupines) if you plan to have your dog off leash, especially near dusk/at night.

This was the perfect spot to van camp for the night outside Portland. We got to listen to owls as the sun set over a pastel colored Mt Hood. The directions were perfect and we got in no problem. It’s very quiet even though it’s just a half mile from the road. Awesome spot if you just need a quick escape!

So nice to have a wide open space to yourself where you never see another person for a day or two. Private and beautiful. Great sunsets and stars. Couldn’t have asked for more.

What a perfect spot to have a completely private stay! My husband and I loved watching the beautiful sunsets each night overlooking the two mountains. The property is so peaceful and quiet and we had the whole area to ourselves. One minor note to potentially consider, the property is a wide open plain and one night the wind picked up quite a bit and we were really grateful to be in our camper trailer instead of a tent because there’s not much of a wind break for a tent anywhere. Even so, I would still 100% recommend this spot! We loved it and will definitely be back again for a stay!

I enjoyed gorgeous sunsets, sunrises, and even the full moon rising on this beautiful property with a stunning view of Wy’east and Pahto. Very secluded, private and peaceful. I was very comfortable for a couple nights with my car camping setup, and would gladly stay here again, great location!
