Welcome to our secret getaway. A place where you can go to truly get away from the world to slow down, breathe deep, and rejuvenate.
We bought this 80-acre property out of a love affair with the high desert and the peace, serenity, and beauty that comes with it.
It has been our own escape after reading Aldo Leopold's "Sand County Almanac." We go here to watch the clouds dance off Wy'est and Pahto (Mt. Hood and Mt. Adams), listen to the passing geese in the autumn and spring and the howl of the coyotes on a summer night.
In the winter we come to soak up sunshine, dry out from the rain, and get space from hectic urbanity. The ravens are active and dance on the wind then and it's nice just to be still and look out over the Cascades. In spring the property comes alive with color from all the wildflowers. The summers are hot and dry, but the rivers nearby are cool and inviting. Between May-September be sure to book a Deschutes rafting trip!
About the experience:
At the far back of the property half a mile from the road we have a beautiful clearing with spectacular views of Wy'est (Mt. Hood) and Pahto (Mt. Adams). You are welcome to pitch your tent or park your camper anywhere near the vintage airstream on the property.
You're welcome to make use of the fire ring, propane fire pit, adirondack chairs, and of course, the outhouse.
The experience of watching the sun fade over the mountains and having the brilliant night sky open up before you while you tend to a campfire is a magical experience that stirs the soul and reminds us what it means to be a human being.
The best part...there is not another soul around for miles.
About the area:
Experience the outdoor paradise that is Central Oregon. Relax, unplug and enjoy stunning views of snow capped volcanoes. Explore the region known for world renowned fly fishing, rafting, cycling, hiking and biking.
Our property is located 8 miles from downtown Maupin where there is a market that sells food and alcohol, a local fly fishing shop, and other small restaurants. There are tons of rafting and fishing outfitters in town.
Unlike campsites that are closer into town, ours doesn't have a train running at all hours of the night creating a somewhat jarring camping experience. Not to mention the sites in town can get crowded.

Beautiful property with amazing views. This was a great escape and I would highly recommend camping here.
Just overall solid. If you have a small car, maybe not but we had a camper van with only road tires and we were good. Great views!!!
It was such a delight to stay at Neal’s site. It was exactly as described. Very bumpy road heading in so take it slow! The gnome in the outhouse was a fun touch as well. It was wonderful to wake up to the birds singing and fall asleep to the coyotes greeting the night. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to disconnect from the world and our busy lives. This space creates an opportunity to rest, relax, and restore.

We had a very relaxing weekend in our camper van! It was a quick weekend getaway form Portland we just stayed on the property and took it easy. Sadly, the weather didn't let us see all of Hood or any of Adams but it was still beautiful scenery and it smelled great after a rain! The directions were good, the outhouse was clean, no issues at all!

Awesome spot to camp, easy to find, with beautiful views of the stars! The bathroom was very nice as well. Would love to stay here again!
This site is very secluded and private with beautiful views of Mt hood. There are comfortable chairs to set up around the bbq/fire pit, plenty of room and options to pitch a tent, and the outhouse is clean/well maintained. One warning, it is quite exposed and the wind in the afternoon/evening was quite strong. It presented quite a challenge to our large car camping tent.
