Chris was a A++ host and the site was even better. We had a very peaceful and relaxing stay. There was plenty of turkey vultures to watch fly through the sky, that didn't seem to mind us while flying above. The site was well kept and very organized. We definitely thinking about revisiting in the late summer, since we visited in early spring. Nice and spacious site and we could have practically pitched our tent anywhere in the clearing area, due to the whole area is pretty level.

Chris is such a friendly and welcoming host! He met us at the street and guided us right back to the private campsite, and offered hiking ideas in the area. We had such a great night of sleep at the edge of the woods. We will definitely be back!

Absolutely loved this camp spot. It was just me and my pups, and I felt 100% safe. Chris was so welcoming and helpful when I got there and throughout my stay. The first evening I was there, there was a small storm, and Chris checked in often to make sure I was ok. The spot is a little ways back of the road and is surrounded by beautiful woods and corn fields. There is always shade back among the woods and sun up closer to the corn field. There's very little cell service, which is wonderful! If you do need service and would like to see a beautiful sunrise and sunset, you can take a short walk up the hill right next to the site. I would absolutely recommend adventuring out to Chris' land. It was very peaceful and beautiful.

Site 1 - Winding Fork Camp
Quiet, tucked away and the utmost privacy!! We were not within eyesight or earshot of anyone and Chris was such a great host, giving us a quick run down upon arrival and even bringing an extra bundle of wood the next day. The site was mowed and shaded with trees for a small hammock and a short walk up to a great view of the valley. We would definitely recommend!

Chris was a great host! Nice level property, great for tent camping. The views of the hills were nice. Chris provides you a fire ring, shovel, garbage can and picnic table. Rosco Village was 20 mins away. Would go back for sure.

Everything was exactly as I expected. It was hidden away from the road to feel like you were in a clearing in the middle of the woods. It was a perfect get away for my pup and I. The host Chris and his wife Tina were friendly. They respected my privacy but we’re close by and available if needed.

Site 3 - Winding Fork Camp
We had such a wonderful time at Chris' spot. We stayed at site 3, which was a large open area, surrounded by cornfields and several acres of woods. The site was clean, had a fire pit and table, and plenty of room for our truck and my parent's truck/trailer. Chris was super helpful giving us directions and he brought us firewood when we ran out. There's a really pretty trail up the hill from the site that overlooks the neighboring farms for quite the view. Our dogs had a blast running around and exploring.
We had the chance to meet Chris during our stay and he has some really exciting plans for his land. We'll definitely be back and are excited to see what Chris does with the place. I'd love to see more trails to be able to hike into the woods a bit.
Some things to note:
- The site has just a couple of trees so you can hang a hammock, but your options are limited
- None of us had cell service back in the site but could get a little bit if we walked out toward the cornfield (not an issue since we were trying to get off the grid for the weekend, but something to be aware of)
- There was another camper at the spot next to ours and their site access is right next to this site, though you can't really see or hear the other site

Very clean and well maintained campsite. I didn’t have anyone near me at all. The next closest campers we 50 yards from me. Chris was a very nice host. Met me the following morning brought me more firewood and said don’t hesitate to ask if I needed anything. I will definitely be going back to camp here.

Chris’s property is great if you’re looking to get away for a relaxing camping trip. The spot is surrounded by thicket which acted as a fence to corral our three dogs. The site is open to the sun which means a dry camp. Chris made himself available for any help we may have needed. No hiking trails but you’re very close to Mohican. Come prepared. If you need supplies you’ll want to get them on the way in as towns are about 30 mins. out and most things are closed on Sunday. Picnic table is a little small so just make sure you have another surface for any cooking, ect. Bring comfortable seating also. Low light pollution makes for great star gazing. This a little closer to the road than we thought. You may get sounds from the road or neighbor’s animals. Overall, well worth the experience! Thanks again, Chris.

It was the peaceful getaway my husband and I needed! The site was beautiful and clean. Chris made sure we got our fire started which was well beyond our expectations. We had privacy and the peaceful beauty of nature for a full weekend. I can’t wait to go back!

Wonderful, private spot with plenty of room. Owner, Chris, is fantastic! We have gone several times and looking forward to more trips to this spot. Lots of birds, plenty of shade. Nice fire ring and picnic table.

Had a great time off the grid weekends camping here. (Literally. We had no device at the site except to maybe get a text out. It was great.) Chris was a fantastic host. Answered all my questions before booking and was easy to communicate with. He even brought us more wood on day 2 and split it for us! And had fresh farm eggs we went home with. Yum!
We stayed on site 2 which is just behind a corn field nestled into a grass alcove at the wood line. You feel like you are completely alone. Very private. And no light pollution so you can see all the stars! The site was shaded for all but a few hours midday. That made for some wet grass in the morning, though we didn’t mind since it kept us cool and the bit of sun dried things out. The site was very large and would accommodate a bunch of tents and a few cars for sure. We had a truck, trailer, car and two tents with so much room to spare. The corn field was cool to explore and we brought our ATV to ride around the site and nearby. There was no outhouse or anything, but with the remote nature of this site, you didn’t need it.
Site 3 was just up a hill next to us. No one camped while we were there, but there were plenty of trees/brush to block between sites so you wouldn’t have seen or heard each other anyway. That site was much smaller than ours and would be better for a couple or a small family with a tent or two max.
Would definitely recommend Chris’ place! It is a gem!

Chris was great from the second I pulled onto the property. He was friendly and helpful, and made every effort to ensure I had a safe and enjoyable trip. The grounds are gorgeous and peaceful. It was the perfect place to unplug for a night away from the city!

Chris was a great host! He greeted us at the site, was super friendly, and even gave us a dozen fresh eggs! The camping spot was far from the road so you felt completely secluded and had great views of the night sky. Our dogs were able to explore without worrying about cars or other people. There was also a lot of great hiking and swimming options within a short drive!

Our campsite was just off the road through a field up to a mowed clearing on the edge of the woods. The ground was quite even and we were supplied with dry firewood, kindling and starter to set us off right. We stayed over memorial day weekend while some friends stayed at a cabin at Indian Bear Lodge. This site is very close to the resort and winery there (10-15min). We also went up to Cuyahoga Valley National Park from this site one day, and drove through Tappan Lake area on the way to and from home. Two really great parks both about 1.5 hrs from camp. This is a perfect spot to spend a long weekend in eastern Ohio.

Chris readily accepted my reservation on very short notice, and graciously provided plenty of firewood. He was kind and helpful, and I appreciated everything he did. I would certainly recommend a stay here, the view of the stars was unforgettable, and the campsite clean and secluded.

Chris was a wonderful host! He truly cares about providing campers with the best possible experience and you really can't beat that kind of hospitality. He was kind enough to bring us more wood on the second day when we had already used up most of what he originally provided - he was always quick to respond and communication was top notch. He is just getting started with hosting so he has a ton of plans for the sites which was exciting to learn, including paving out some hiking trails on his property which we felt was really the only thing missing. He was also open to feedback and making sure he was providing the best possible stay. The site we stayed at (#3) was by far the largest site. It's HUGE so it was nice to have the space to spread out (we had two tents and one car but you could easily fit a large, or several large groups here). We were hopeful about being able to let our dog off-leash but after learning how close you are to the main road, and that it was deer hunting season, we decided to keep him on a leash for his safety. Just something to consider if camping with pets. You really do get tons of privacy though which was the best part of our stay.
Totally unrelated to Chris and his property, there were some concerning political signs directly across the campsite that made us a bit nervous upon arrival. Once we learned that you cannot see that property from the site, and with how welcoming Chris was, it ended up being a very relaxing weekend getaway in the woods.

Chris has three sites and we stayed at the largest one where we could pull up our teardrop camper. We were nestled between a corn field and the woods in a nice open mowed spot. There were trees for us to put up our hammock, fire ring, a garbage can, and sanitizer. Chris was very nice and eager to get constructive feedback as he is new to hosting campers. We found it to be a peaceful spot.
