My favorite camp to date!
Tent · With pets
I've been camping since I was 18. I am 36 now. This is now my favorite camp. The Allegheny National forest has been ruined by RV campers and partiers. Many places don't allow pets and aren't private. I drove from Ohio to check this site out. Being there in person makes you understand that the photos don't do it justice! The stream runs aside camp. You can hear the waterfall from that little tunnel which, by the way, happens to be below where the Erie Railroad ran! You can walk the flat path that remains. The rest of his land is clearly cared for! There are a handful of trails, which I hiked multiple times. As a primitive camper, I appreciated having a toilet so much! The first night had a storm accompany it. Around 3am we ran to the shelter that he recently placed there. I appreciated that so much! The storm passed quick and I slept like a baby the rest of my trip. The stream is full of life! Minnows, tadpoles, tiny frogs, toads, wild flowers, you name it. I love that so much. It's totally private and quiet, which gets huge points. Dog friendly!!! Best part! Your dogs can run free or simply be present. So many places don't allow pets. I didn't want to leave. Wish I could've booked another night. I'll be back! If you want peace, space, dog-friendly spaces, nature, hiking, history, and items that make camping a little easier on you - go here. Thank you!
