The Farnch: A developing Destination Farm Come have a picnic under a tree, spend a few hours and go for a hike in Hudson Highland Gateway Park, a Historic 352-acre park offering hiking, birding, cross-country skiing, fishing & snowshoeing. He have rods and tackle to rent or buy if you don’t have your own. If you’re having a really great time and the kids just don’t want to leave, join us for an evening of sleeping under the stars in the forest at one of our campsites. We also host local Scout Groups, and Appellation Trail hikers. Hikers know that we are located about 2 miles south of the route 9 trail crossing at the Appalachian Market and offer pick up and drop off service from there on weekends. Hudson Valley is a wonderful 4 season go to location and being about an hour away from New York City you won’t spend hours in the car before being able to stretch your legs.

Ground camping old school in the beginnings of a chestnut grove. its just you in nature among the trees. forested area about 100' x 200' overlooking north side of 350 + acre Highland Gateway Conservancy Park, private and secluded, part of 25-acre private property with natural spring and streams, 10-minute drive proximity to all transportation and retail, Bear Mountain Park, West Point and Coldspring. Just a minute hike up a small slope to the site from where you may park your vehicle. Site is priced @ $45.00 per night, minimum 2-night booking, this includes up to 4 individuals , additional people will be charged at $ 10.00 per person per night. Please read the full description and reviews before booking or ask if you are unsure if this site is right for your trips expectations. Close enough yet far enough for a first-time camping experience. About an hour drive or train ride from Manhattan. 1.3 Miles from Appalachian trail crossing. Chestnut landing is ground camping for now. The site can be accommodated with tents and cooking utensils for additional fees if needed, as well as lessons on camp site prep and safety guidelines. Highland Gateway Park allows year-round hiking and horseback riding, but no motorized vehicles, there are trails, ponds, and springs to discover as well as an abundance of wildlife . Chestnuts Landing is a site located on the 24-acre property very private, but it is located closer to the somewhat busy at times Route 9. You can hear the road noise , so if absolute one with nature is your thing, I would suggest booking the Phoenix Landing site. Also, the terrain at Chestnuts Landing is slightly pitched and not as level as the Phoenix site. The area down below the site where you pull in and park is quite level. I will be working on some platform construction and some land leveling throughout this season to try to better situate the site. I tried my best to show the actual site in pictures. Feel free to ask if you're unsure. Thank you.
