MorningStar was a great place to write and reflect… you get to experience the seclusion and mellow summer nights while also being close to the luxuries of city life when you run out of supplies. People have mentioned the train in the comments, but its been part of the experience, that rail has been going uninterrupted for 150 years and is part of the rural Michigan landscape, it’s own kind of nature that you get to hear/see/feel. After the first couple trains, it blends in with the wildlife with glimpses of colors and letters through the trees, like a deer walking an edge line. I would definitely recommend this place for any artists whether you work alone or with other people. Plenty of other camping options available just a short walk through the woods from MorningStar.

A thousand percent hands down would return to Thousand Suns ,the host was accommodating ,the land was beautiful a thing to be admitted by the bonfire in the morning as deers run through the field as you sip your coffee, hearing hawks distinct voice overhead as you travel through the trails of the property or the laid back serenity depicted by the aura of the Morning Star Camper , a blast to wake up and see turkeys and chickens running around as you open your eyes after a rest there ,by far one of the most enjoyable camping trips,highly recommend a place to travel to,top of my list for a nice getaway for the weekend from the hustle and bustle of the city.

The worker was very helpful and the camp site was nice with multiple fire pits, outhouse, and a picnic table. The nearby train can get a bit loud but it didn't bother us too much.

Amazing time was had on the Thousand Sun property! The treehouse was cute, comfortable and so cozy. Lots to explore, close to everything and the host was so very helpful. We will be returning.

This place is a gem 💎😍 We can’t wait to bring our family next time. It was the perfect place to come back to relax by the fire after the Billy Strings show. We didn’t get to explore as much as we wanted to since we only stayed one night. So peaceful and we love all the animals roaming around. The camper was pretty neat!

We really enjoyed our weekend here! We had the whole space to ourselves and had a great time exploring the property. My kids loved having so much open space to run around and also had fun with the dog hanging around. Outhouses were close, clean, and well stocked. My kids are already asking when we can go back!
One downside was the train noise. It didn't bother me or my kids but my husband is a light sleeper and the trains woke him up a few times.

The secluded camping site was in the far back of the beautiful property. The host was great. Very good vibes and a blast for our group of friends. Would definitely recommend and will be coming back if in town.

We enjoyed our stay at thousand sund. Nice pad for pitching our tent. The wiod bundle was ample at at our site upon arrival. We enjoyed visits byvthe friendly camp dogs as did our dog. It was quite peaceful among the pines. Patrick the host was friendly and welcomed us to enjoy sone of the other site ammenities. The only downside is the proximity to active train tracks. The first night we kept waking up but our second night we slept more soundly..guess we were getting used to it. I do have to admit we live a a farm in northern michigan so are not used to any of theses sounds. That said, i believe we would return again to thousand suns.

It was a beautiful campsite. You are close to very active train tracks in this location, we woke up on several occasions to the train horns.. In addition, the campsites are somewhat difficult to find due to limited signage near the site. Would camp again, maybe in a different location on the land though.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. It took a little time to adjust to how close the other campers were, but we managed to find ways to maintain privacy. While this might be a matter of personal preference, I believe that adjacent sites are ideal for groups of friends or families camping together. Additionally, the outhouse was quite close to our site, and we noticed that the breeze would occasionally carry its scent.
The showers were excellent, and the trails offered plenty of fun with beautiful sights along the way. The property itself is gorgeous, with a laid-back and relaxing vibe.
One thing to note is the frequent trains passing nearby. They run both day and night, and the horns can be quite loud since the tracks are only a few hundred yards away. It’s something you get used to over time, but it’s worth mentioning for those who are light sleepers.
It’s a thoughtful spot for a relaxing getaway. I’d recommend it for those who are adventurous, don’t mind a bit of noise, and are looking to enjoy a fun camping experience—even if it comes with the occasional wake-up call. 👍🏼

I felt the calm and peaceful vibe the minute I drove off the highway and into camp. I appreciate the raised area on my campsite for my tent too. I definitely recommend them!

What a happy tree house! This spot was super comfortable, and very fun to be up in the trees. Beware though, if it’s super hot out, it makes for a warm sleep and the mattresses in the loft don’t get a lot of air flow.
The shower area was great; it was so nice to have a warm shower when we arrived late. The morning walk was delightful; gorgeous garden, pond, and cute chickens and sheep :)

Had the best time at this campground! The camper was decorated beautifully as well as extremely comfortably, there was a shower available in the camper as well as an outdoor washroom. The fridge got very cold and the water ran inside the rv as well as having water access outside. The lake was so warm and fun! There was a zip line and boats to use. Trails, and creek and an overall very fun experience. i will be back!

My husband and I stayed in the morning star camper and was equipped with pretty much everything from electric/water/shower no toilet but port a potties and outhouse's available at site and throughout the property there is a zip line into a small lake but we didn't try that many trails with amazing little features on each we seen the beginning of of a teepee being built which will be amazing when it's done I can see their vision and it is coming to life they have done so much in such a little time already I will definitely be back as soon as possible the night sky is incredible would be a great spot to rustic camp also will try that next time
P.S. bring pots and pans there is a kettle and cups and plates
