Site 1: Beaver Dam
Great large secluded site close to everything. Probably 1/4 mile from the street down a mowed grass road. My two wheel drive truck had no issues getting to it even though it had rained quite a bit around the time we were there.

Beautiful quiet spot
Lovely, quiet, secluded spot on a beautiful piece of densely wooded property. Area was well-marked and the host was super responsive.

Site 1: Beaver Dam
This was a wonderful spot to camp! The land is flat and clear of debris, and the covered netted structure is a perfect place to relax away from the sun and bugs. The view was amazing, it was lovely to spot the beaver swimming in the lake throughout our stay. Highly recommended!

Perfect Mackinac Weekend
What a perfect location! We couldn’t have asked for a better weekend at Chris’ serene and spacious site (we stayed at the Beaver site). The site is nice and level and sits back a ways making for quiet evenings and beautiful stargazing at night. The tented table and fire pit was a nice addition as well. We loved how close this site is to Mackinaw City, restaurants and the ferry. We highly recommend this site to anyone looking for a place to stay for a long weekend/day trip to the Island. Thank you Chris!

Beautiful setting with beavers!!
We had a wonderful weekend tent camping at Chris’s Beaver Pond site. Camping beside an active beaver pond, seeing them swim and climb up their impressively constructed dam was magical! We spotted some great varieties of birds in the surrounding woods and in the pond and wetland, I’m sure a determined birder would find many more. Chris is a flexible and conscientious host. Thoughtful maintenance on the driveway (to minimize mud and potholes), the neatly mowed campsite, and views to the active beaver pond had been kept clear. It was very dry in the “tip of the mitten” region, so we chose not to build a fire, but Chris provided water to douse a campfire if we had lit one. It was decently buggy, like all northern Michigan wooded locales, but a screen tent was generously provided by the host so the kids had a refuge! It was a great place to spend time, with all the nature viewing, and conveniently located to many Rail Trails (one even crosses the driveway!) for biking, scenic Mackinac Island, Mackinaw City, and Cheboygan! I recommend it, and we would be happy to stay here again.
