Very well maintained in a cozy, rural country setting. Just minutes away from a great selection of wineries and breweries. Additionally, it's just a short distance drive ahead of many family-friendly fine dining restaurants, shops and spas.

Located just off 29 just before entering the historic Old Town Warrenton. This campground features a beautiful dark blue lake inhabited by cute, friendly ducks. The lake also features an overwater furnished porch that will allow for guests to get right on top of the water at night (as it includes a lighting system). The site is also a horse ground which guests are encouraged to see. The lake is swimmable and the site has a shower and toilet. The address is 8687 James Madison HWY Warrenton Virginia

Take the turn in towards the narrow road, pull up to the main building and call the number that will be provided once there. Afterwards, someone will assist promptly with further activity or any further questions you might have. Parking is on loose gravel ground as well as asphalt. Flooring is leveled.

Stunning Lakeside Campground
Beautiful, quiet location and a cool working horse farm. We were the only campers, which made it especially peaceful. We road trip often and usually stay at multiple places in a weekend, so one of our biggest priorities is reliable access to a shower. We chose this location specifically because the bathroom and shower facilities in the listing looked very nice. Unfortunately, that part of the stay went badly. Around 7:30 AM, my wife went to the barn to shower before we left. The facilities are in the barn, where there are also loft tenants. A woman there told my wife, very rudely, that she could not use the showers because they were being locked up. My wife explained that we were campers and had been told we had access to the facilities, but the woman repeated that she could not shower. My wife then asked to at least use the restroom. Woman reluctantly allowed it, waited outside, and locked the bathroom as soon as my wife came out, saying it was closed for the day. My wife came back to camp crying and very uncomfortable. She has anxiety in confrontational situations, and not being able to shower before we headed out to see her father for Father’s Day affected the rest of the day. The Hipcamp host was pleasant and said she would straighten it out, but by then my wife understandably did not want to return to a shower next to a tenant who clearly did not want campers there. This property could have been a five-star stay, but bathroom access should not depend on a tenant's mood.

Stunning Lakeside Campground
We loved the place. For us it was just a meeitng point for some family member seeing a concert at Wolftrap so we did not really experience the place. But it's a great looking place and the host was wonderfual with communication. I could see us camping there again- 50 min. From Wolftrap.
