Super friendly hosts, they offered us guidance and we also saw them maintaining the portas first thing in the morning, but there were tight one way dirt roads. Wonderful foilage beautiful in the daytime. Our experience was overshadowed by a pack of big dogs in the entrance that were almost standing guard in the complete darkness. It was a strangely evenly spaced formation preventing us from driving in. Later in the night, it really freaked us out when we noticed one of them followed us into the site and was watching us from the dark. We are used to animals/dog lovers but this pack was not right…

The good: Beautiful, shady, lush green forest camping sites with lots of space and nice hot showers! People were quiet after dark and my kids fell asleep easily. The purchased firewood was delivered right away. I would recommend this spot for those reasons.
The not so good: My kids were expecting to swim and the river was deep, but very murky, muddy, and unswimmable imo. (This may be seasonal, not sure - we went mid March.) I would canoe or kayak on it tho! The portable toilets were very full and we avoided using them. There were lots of biting ants and a fair number of mosquitoes.
Conclusion: I would recommend this spot with reservations!

I tent camped here in the back of my truck and loved it. There are some spots you can get to without anything special, but if you have a smaller acr be aware of where you're staying and the weather. I could imagine it would get difficult to traverse when raining if not prepared. Overall the place is beautiful with lots of trees and great spots to choose from to set up. I do wish there was a little better access to the water for swimming, its more suited for canoeing or fishing. The staff is great too! They're quick to respond, even if it's something like your truck battery dying 😂

This is a majestic location near Austin where families can take quick getaways to be surrounded in nature and with fun water activities along with the camping experience. They have it all! We just left and the whole family can’t wait till the next time we unplug. It’ll be here! Super friendly staff definitely seals the deal.

For my first camping trip. I really enjoyed it. We had 6 adults 2 children and 6 dogs with us. The camping sites were very clean along with the showers. The staff were very attentive. I would def stay here again.

Drive in is through an ugly neighborhood. I didn’t feel safe. Nobody on site—absentee owners. Bathroom is a portapotty that hasn’t been cleaned in a while. And NO TOILET PAPER when I really needed it. I left and got a hotel.

Hosts are very responsive and nice, however, sites are pretty close together, with many people walking directly through my campsite to get down to the river. I didn't feel a sense of privacy, which is something I really value when camping. There is a lot of traffic noise from the highway, too.

Beautiful property even in the wet conditions. Directions were easy. Recommend truck or SUV for the forest sites during rainy season. Kid & dog had fun jumping in puddles and warming up with a fire. Communication and deliveries were prompt. Campers all around but spread out enough to hardly notice. Porta potty was clean. Would love to visit again in the summer to enjoy the river.

We went for a two night stay & really enjoyed ourselves!! The hosts were very attentive and answered any questions we had in a timely manner. The showers are nice, we just had to call and they ran (literally) to turn them on for us due to them periodically shutting them off for weather purposes. Our friend tried hanging a hammock and broke a tree (our fault not theirs) && they came and check on us right away. They weren’t concerned about the tree, just our friend. They are pet friendly, just keep your pet near by you. The fishing was great and peaceful there. They have docks to fish from. They do have porter potties throughout the grounds that they keep pretty clean which I appreciated as well. We will definitely be going back!

The host was kind and helpful. We had privacy unless we requested their delivery service (wood), which was brought promptly. There was some noise from the highway but it makes up for how close and easy it is to come out here for a couple of nights. I would stay again.

Fun camp site but when we went there was a wedding happening across the road and it was LOUD. I’d assume it isn’t an every weekend kind of thing but it really put a damper on the “get away from people” vibe. And you can hear the highway from here. But that’s to be partially expected being so close to the city still.
Staff was super nice and really helped us out when our fire wood got snatched.
I would recommend this place for a day visit or overnight stay.

I’ve stayed here a few times! I took a kayak out on the river, enjoyed the sunset, and then took a heated outdoor shower before enjoying my campfire and going to sleep

This was probably one of the best camping experiences I've had yet. The host was super friendly, came around to pick up our trash every so often, delivered our canoes and even provided clean restrooms and showers. The actual spot was beautiful too, near the water, nice trees to give shade and an open field close by to pass a football or frisbee. I would definitely camp here again!

This is a great campsite for beginners like ourselves! It was really peaceful and calm, the host was amazing from the beginning and was very communicative. We had campers near us at most of the sites but everyone was just respectful and you would barely notice people there.

Easy to find if you follow instructions. This specific site was kind of far away from the sites, definitely more than the other sites. It was close to the bathrooms so unfortunately we had people walk through our site during the night to get to the bathroom and that was not pleasant. The land was cool as you can walk to a little beach area and the hosts are able to provide you with firewood, trash pick up etc.

En general estuvo bien. Muy lindo lugar. Las comunicación fue rapida con el anfitrión. Amamos el recorrido en kayak. Para tener en cuenta la zona de Plebbe Beach entre el campamento 4 y 5 no existe (preguntamos al sr de los kayak y a varias familias nadie sabia donde estaba), Recomiendo mantenimiento a las entradas del agua ya que hay mucha vegetacion. en la zona ya que no ofrecen la playa, mayor señalización de banos y botes de saura, no hay suficientes botes de basura.

The location is awesome. On the Colorado River,
Close to Bastrop and Austin. The Tent sites are in a lovely tree lined area and the rv sites are in an open field with a group of trees in the center of the field. It looks like 3/5 rv sites are for rent, so they are fixed/stay there. Sites A and I think E/F are for rent to bring your own RV. We booked site A and while it abuts a line of trees it is in full sun. We have a tiny camper and do our cooking outside, which in July requires some shade. Even with our awnings and easy up, it would have been pretty toasty in the full sun. The owner was very kind to allow us to move our camper under the grove of trees in the center and we had a lovely time. However it probably only worked out because we were the I my ones there. If you don’t care about shade, it might not be an issue for you but I didn’t see many reviews on the RV sites so I thought I’d mention it. The beach areas are awesome and the owners are clearly working on making improvements to the campground. There’s a fishing dock and two big beaches to play by the river. The water flows but not so fast that you can still lounge about on a tube. The showers are really nice, large with hooks and a bench and while outdoors I found them charming and refreshing. My only feedback is there should be more toilets and one should be in/closer to the RV area. There are two porta potties, but for the size of the campground they’re very far and not quite enough for the amount of sites.

I loved our stay! We could hear some traffic closer to the river but the cicadas where having a concert so it was all we could hear at our tent. We walked around and realized we were the only campers not in a RV which made the site have a super secluded and out in the forest feel to it. The host was super nice and helpful answering all my questions within 30 min. Low cell service so it was cool we could at least text them, the site just has a fire pit if your picking the forest option but looked like all riverside options had benches and cute floating docks you could fish off of or whatever. If you have a wide car it would deff suck going through the campsites and finding your favorite but it was exciting to see I could. The short walk to the river was nice with some sand but the best part was the river. Met nice people just kayaking through m, the water was amazing smelled and felt fresh. The park across the river does have people walking around but you can go down deeper into the park and get some privacy. The showers were awesome hot water was out but it was okay same temp as the river so it was refreshing. They have rain fall shower heads which are relaxing. We had to leave a day early but we are definitely going back again
