This off-the-grid tiny house is nestled on a 23 acre parcel at the end of a quarter-mile dirt road. The property itself is secluded but is less than 2 miles from the heart of Saranac Lake's downtown. This property is bordered by the Saranac River, the backside of Baker Mountain and State Forest. The only other building on the property is our timberframe which we may or may not be at during the time of your visit. The property does have private trails up to the cliffs on the backside of Baker mtn however, the Saranac River is down a steep embankment so it does not make for a good place to launch a boat (several public boat launches nearby). The Mt Baker tiny house is a great basecamp for hiking the Saranac Lake 6-ers, paddling/boating along the Saranac Chain of lakes or Saranac River, Mountain Biking at Dewey, Pisgah or other nearby BETA trails. IMPORTANT DETAILS: This tiny cabin is completely off the grid: no electricity, heat or cooling. Queen sized bed - we provide the linens. The driveway is narrow - so nothing in tow. Drinking water is provided via jug and dispenser. There is a brand new outhouse (no flushable toilet) We have a designated spot for campfires (smores are a must) There is an older propane grill outside for guest useThis is a newly built tiny cabin (10x16 interior) on a secluded 26 acre parcel. This peaceful cabin, nestled in the woods, is the perfect retreat after a beautiful day of hiking or biking. Relax on the deck and read a book or listen to the birds chirp. At night, build a campfire to roast smores or simply star gaze. Feel free to walk around and take in the beauty of this secluded property located just a mile from town.

Just What I Wanted

I had a wonderful stay at the Mt. Baker Tiny Cabin. It was perfect for my needs. It's very private, with no other houses or camps within view, and no road noise. This charming place was clean and the bed very comfortable. Even in early May, I was able to sleep with the windows open and enjoy the bird song and the little babbling brook. It's hard to believe this place is less than 5 minutes from town. I really appreciated being able to bring my dogs. I will most definitely be booking another stay.

Quiet, Private, Cozy and Clean

This cabin was a lovely place to stay! Very clean, very quiet. It had everything we needed. If staying later in the season, just remember there is no heat and cabin isn’t insulated. We stayed in October and it was about 40ish degrees in the cabin when we awoke, so just a heads up! Will definitely be staying again!

Beautiful Autumn Weekend!

This cabin is so special and beautiful and cozy! We came to run the Lake Placid Classic and also hiked Mt. Baker. The site was so beautiful surrounded by fall leaves, it was perfect. Everything in the cabin was so cute and comfortable. We can’t wait to come back again!

Private Cabin close to town

We loved our time in the tiny cabin. Nights were cold in the 40s but our hosts left extra blankets for us! The trail to the cliffs is so beautiful, and the cabin location is private you can't see any other houses except the host cabin a bit. It's only a 5 minute drive to restaurants and shops in town.

Had a wonderful stay at this Tiny Cabin. The space was minimalistic but so cozy, a perfect "glamping" experience. It was chilly at night but so cozy to have a fire and bundle up in the extra blankets provided. The road to the cabin isn't so bad, just watch for all the deer friends running around :) So close to so many beautiful hikes. Would absolutely recommend and hope to return if we find ourselves back in the area!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 5 days + this was the perfect location to explore the Adirondacks for the first time for us! The cabin is very close to the downtown area yet feels so secluded. An added benefit for us was the cabin being less than a mile from the rail trail! We loved having no electricity and the hosts include lots of lanterns and batteries. They provided lots of drinking water as well which was super helpful! We loved our stay and would love to come back if we end up traveling in the area again. I do think an outdoor shower in the future would be a huge benefit to the cabin, as it’s a great location to popular hikes and biking!

Okay, keep in mind that I've never been to the Adirondacks before. That said, this tiny cabin would be special just about anywhere. At the end of a gravel road tucked away in a beautiful ravine of trees, the only thing we heard was the sound of birds, rain, the crackle of our campfire. Is it fancy? Nope. It's a "glamping" at its finest with a freakishly comfortable bed. I'm guessing you're looking for a cute, budget-minded place to crash while exploring the area. You've found it.

So very cozy. We felt completely relaxed and at home. Great location just blocks from downtown Saranac Lake. We brought both out bicycles and our motorcycle and were located just off of the Adirondack Rail Trail and also a beautiful Scenic Ride to Whiteface Mountain on the Motorcycle. We wish we had found it sooner during our stay in the area.

Our stay was amazing! It’s the perfect place to get offline, recharge, and go on adventures. Loved especially that you felt like you were camping alone in the woods but were so close to Saranac Lake that you could easily access food/shops/amenities. You have everything you need provided (water, lights, bug spray, propane/bbq) and there are so many cute personal touches added to the space that make it comfortable and feel like home. Would definitely recommend if you like camping with a little more comfort 😊👍

Cozy getaway

My husband and I had an absolutely amazing time in our little cabin secluded up in the woods! Surrounded by nature and wildlife was exactly the getaway we needed from the city. Sara and Matt are amazing hosts- we got in a little early before check-in and we're able to chat with Matt before hand about a few things to know about the cabin Before we ran out to the store. With the town being a 5 minute drive away, this was a perfect location for everything we needed. The daddy long-legs are also very friendly and will do anything they can to join you while camping. Such cuties! I'm sure we will see y'all again!

We loved the tiny private cabin surrounded by woods, and were pleasantly surprised by all the many little amenities even in the outhouse! Extra blankets were provided for the cold night. It was so dark and quiet that we slept great. The new ADK rail trail was a short bike ride down the hill which was an unexpected bonus. We hope to return again next year!

Private, Quiet, & Very Convenient

Wow. The property where this cabin is located is PERFECT. Private, quiet, yet minutes to everything you'll need, and close to everything there is to do in the high peaks. We enjoyed our stay here very much and we were slightly disappointed we had to leave for other adventures in New York State. If we plan another trip to New York we will be back! Sara and Matt left a little blurb about how they got into the Hipcamp business and their passion shows, for sure. When we got to the cabin, we were thrilled at how tidy it was and how quaint the cabin was, itself. The Adirondack chairs on the deck are great, as are the chairs they have around the fire pit, which are the chairs we used most. Plus, there's a clearing for stargazing. If you're headed to upper New York, stop here! You won't regret it.

I was very happy with this place. Private, secluded spot in the woods, yet very short drive to downtown Saranac Lake. The cabin was cute and well-kept. Hosts were friendly and attentive. When we were there it was cold for August (40's at night). They left plenty of extra blankets for us, so even though the cabin was cold, the bed was very warm.

We were at the tiny cabin for two nights and it was an amazing getaway. This is situated just right so that you can access so much of what the Adirondacks has to offer or you can just sit tight at the cabin and enjoy the quite time. Hosts were extremely responsive. We really want to come back!

Cozy cabin in the woods

Cozy cabin near the Adirondack High Peaks. Also just a short 5 minutes drive from Saranac Lake city center so you can enjoy a night out or a morning coffee! We had a great time with our dog during our three nights stay at the cabin! We slept amazingly in a cozy bed an woke up to the sounds of the forest! Couldn’t ask for a better experience!

Sara & Matt thought of everything. This was the epitome of glamping. The mattress was so comfy and we got great sleep. You’re in the middle of the woods but the cabin is screened in perfectly! Super clean too with little hooks everywhere in the cabin as well as battery-powered lights. Was awesome!

Beautiful and comfortable cabin that feels very remote while at the same time you could be on town with 5 minutes drive or 25 minute walk. Had a relaxing stay and would likely stay again when I am in the area.
