The land was beautiful and the pets running around were such a sweet surprise. It felt very homey and comfortable and we would definitely come back!

Audrey and Richard are the sweetest couple and most gracious hosts. We had an amazing stay! It was so tranquil with the birds chirping and all the wildlife. We will absolutely be coming back and bringing our friends! Thank you guys :)

Camping at Audrey's was such a lovely experience! Beautiful property, so much to explore. We mostly sat at camp in the shade and admired the views, as it was too warm for much hiking. We saw several deer during the days, and heard even more at night! Did you know male deer growl when upsetwith another buck or doe?! I just learned that Friday night as I quickly googled away to see what might have been growling outside my tent haha. We also heard a pack of baby coyotes learning to howl each night, and watched all the different species of birds soar around. The resident farm cat, Phil, quickly became our pal, being sure to come by our tent to say hello.
Audrey and Richard are such lovely people and wonderful hosts - we cannot wait to stay again!

We loved camping on Audrey's land! My husband and I took our two kids camping over labor day weekend and they loved it. The many animals on the property kept them busy all weekend. They loved tending to the fire and picking apples from their trees as well! Showering next to cows was my favorite part

We had such a lovely, peaceful stay. The setting is charming and beautiful, and the hosts were gracious and helpful. The campsite was well-outfitted and offered plenty of privacy. We especially enjoyed sitting by the water. taking walks on the trail through the property, and chatting with the hosts. This place is a real gem!

Audrey was a wonderful host and has an amazing property. Loved the opportunity to paddle board and swim. Site is very dog friendly, and I know Parker had a great time as well.

Audrey and her husband were so welcoming and helpful during our stay! Our site was well kept and very comfortable - we felt secluded but close to the amenities. I would highly recommend her site to anyone interested!

What a great treasure. My three year old daughter and I woke up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, and there in the moonlit grove, next to her little potty seat we had left next to a tree, a single firefly blinked expectantly. No doubt it was her firefly. We stood and watched with her little arms wrapped around my neck while the clouds slid across the moon. It’s experiences like this that are so important. I’m grateful that Audrey and Richard have carefully stewarded this land with past and future generations in mind. Thank you!!

Spent the weekend with two of my closest friends at Site 2 and had the most amazing time. Audrey and Richard obviously put so much love into their caretaking of the land and everything on their property.
The site is surrounded by pine trees with a perfect view of the sky for stargazing, and we got to enjoy the company a few of their bulls spending the night in their pen just next door. Both mornings I spent walking through the vineyard to the small beach, through the field and into the woods.
Audrey lent us a few books on foraging and shared from her garden, while Richard helped save us when one of our car batteries decided to take a nap. We made friends with the neighboring campers and painted rocks together.
Just could not get over how magical the property felt and what lovely people Audrey and Richard are - thank you so much for sharing your place with us.

Tenting at Moonstone was such a relaxing experience. I enjoyed every second I was there! Audrey and her husband are wonderful hosts with a beautiful property. There were nicely mowed trails to explore, a beautifully raked beach, the blooming vineyard, cows close to the campsite, and many birds and butterflies. There were two clean bathroom options. Audrey has a shop with stunning artwork and homemade things. Our campsite was spacious and had two tables. I absolutely adore Audrey and her farm. I highly recommend checking her and her husbands place out!

We loved everything about our campsite! The vineyard is gorgeous and the beach is so perfectly quaint and just a short walk away. We loved watching the cows and giving them scratches and we bought some amazing art at the shop. Both hosts were very kind and incredibly accommodating and just a delight to talk to. 10 out of 10 would recommend

Staying at Moonstone was an absolute dream! Audrey & Richard were warm and welcoming upon our arrival. They gave us a brief but informative lay of the land. There is a main bathroom with indoor shower and toilet in their adjacent farm house, a shared indoor/outdoor kitchen space, and two respective tent camp sites all adjacent to the cabin. The outdoor privy is also adorable and well kept. The cabin itself is equipped with a mini fridge, microwave, air conditioner, fan, and basin with water jug attached. The space is cozy and inviting. The bed was one of the best we’ve stayed in on our travels. One outstanding feature of our stay are the impeccable little touches: local authors on the book shelf, local honey for tea, little fresh flowers on the table — they truly thought of everything, soaps, rags, silverware, etc. We didn’t find ourselves without once. We spent nearly all day everyday at their pond down the trail, utilizing their canoes. The wildlife watching is abundant — frogs at the waters edge, painted turtles basking in the sun, mama birds and their nests, and the sound of the cattle on their property. Our pup, Hank also loved his stay. There was plenty of space for him to run and play and their resident cats and dog were very sweet too. Audrey & Richard were incredible hosts, the perfect mix of respectful of our privacy and generous with their hospitality. We also deeply appreciate and respect their commitment to being mindful loving stewards of the Earth. 10/10!

This spot is simply wonderful. Audrey is a lovely host, everything was easy, the property is gorgeous, the campsite was perfect. I stayed only one night but I took a walk to the beach at the pond and suddenly imagined staying for days. These folks know what they’re doing and it’s special. I feel fortunate they are willing to share it with traveling visitors.

Beautiful space and people. The far site near the pond was prime. Enough shade throughout the day, open at night for stars and a breeze that kept the mosquitoes at bay after dusk.

This place is magical. Audrey was an amazing host, and I have nothing but great things to say about the whole experience.
For stuff to do, Upper Sioux Agency SP is a short drive. Also, Talking Waters Brewery in dt Montevideo exceeded my expectations.
I’m already planning my next visit to Moonstone, and I just got home ;)

The Auntie's Grove at Moonstone
This was the perfect location to try out the new teardrop trailer for the first time. Woke up to enjoy bluebirds amongst the sunflowers! We had the grove and beach to ourselves. Our 9 year old pup started running laps around us from sheer excitement. Unfortunately we only booked one night so next time around, we will extend our stay. Audrey was out of town but gave detailed directions to us so the arrival was smooth. There are many years of dedicated love and sweat put into this land. So glad Audrey is willing to share the beauty with us.

The most beautiful and serene land we've slept on. We had so much fun swimming and playing music around our camp. We both agreed we will come back as often as we can. 10/10 would recommend and the host Audrey is just the actual sweetest and gave us a tour and we just adore her.
Can't wait for our next getaway to Moonstone.

This was our second stay at Moonstone farm.. we feel as if we have known Audrey and Richard forever! We plan on another visit next summer en route Wisconsin.

Why Hipcamp when driving across country rather than hotels or RV parks? Because you are going to get off the beaten track. You are going to meet great, creative, inspiring people and get to see their homes, farms, ranches, unique properties and get to talk with them and share stories.
Audrey and Richard's farm is the epitome of this experience. This place is just fabulous. It is aesthetic and lovely (we camped in our little camper trailer so did not stay in the lovely cabins or use the outdoor kitchen but those options look amazing) and Audrey and Richard's vision of sustainable farming is inspiring. What a marvelous place to relax and decompress after a day on the road. We enjoyed our conversations with the family and hit Audrey's little farm store for gifts in the morning before hitting the road.
