The spot was great for us. We did an overnight. Super quiet, abundant bird life and privacy. Nice spots for tent camping too.

We backpacked overnight on the Flint Hills Trail and had such an easy time finding this place and getting set up! The port a potties were incredibly clean and the picnic table and fire ring were super nice to have. Listening to the frogs and watching the fireflies was a great way to spend the evening :)

We really enjoyed our evening here! Amy and Darius happened to be on-site and were super welcoming. The site offered everything we needed: a flat spot for our campervan, very clean porta potties and shower, and plenty of space for our dog to scamper around.
The tent area looked really nice, too, and the overall vibe was very friendly and relaxed.
We were in the area to visit the Tallgrass Prairie National Reserve, but this would also be a great spot for anyone interested in gravel biking in the area. (Amy even let me take her g-bike for a short spin!)

What a great campsite! Amy and Darius have thought of everything to make a comfortable and inviting spot. This was my second time at this peaceful and remote camp in the Flint Hills and I will surely be back.

I truly appreciated the basecamp in the Flint Hills. We were traveling and needed a campsite and thankfully it was available. My group and I enjoyed the site immensely. The owners were gracious and we all had a great experience. Thank you again Amy.

We really enjoyed the Flint Hills base camp for our motorcycle trip to the area. Very quiet, great views and easy to get to. Plenty of firewood, clean portable toilet and outdoor shower. Camp grounds and shade trees were perfect for the tents. My 1st time using the Hip camp app.

I enjoyed my stay at BCFH during Flint Hills Gravel. It was great to have a Basecamp to return to (with excellent al fresco shower) after 127 miles of open roads and wind. Good folks to share a hang with after and Amy & Darius are great hosts.

The sleep shack was amazing!! After a long day on the bike it was nice to be able to sleep on a bed instead of an air mattress in a tent. Was nice and roomy and the fan gave us plenty of air movement since it wasn’t hot outside yet. Would definitely stay here again!

Manicured, well kept campsites. Clean toilet and shower. The property has a fantastic layout for tents, trailers, rvs & hammocks. The kitchen and picnic area is topnotch. Basecamp Flint Hills is obviously loved by the amazing hosts.

Awesome spot for a trip to the Flint Hills. Was in town for a gravel race and this was the perfect spot to stay. Right on the Flint Hill Trail and access to tons of gravel riding from camp. The hosts, Amy and Darius, are great, super welcoming and very communicative. Will definitely stay here again! Thank you both!!!

This was a great stop on the Flint Hills recreation trail. It was nice to be able to have electric and water hookups. Is just a great way to camp!

I love Basecamp Flint Hills and the Sleeping Shack makes this place even better! This is my favorite place to stay in the Flint Hills Trail and would recommend it to everyone. I will be back!

Great site for primitive campers. Secluded location, quiet, remote. It had new water lines and a make shift outdoor shower house and an outhouse. Had it been warmer I would have used the shower.

I enjoyed my 2 night stay. It was quiet and the people were friendly. Amy was excellent in providing very important trail information. They were burning so she alerted me that it was recommended to stay off the trail to the west. Great communication. Booking was extremely easy, once I got to the campground and used the QR code.

I chose this place because it looked like a quiet and safe area to spend the night while I was solo traveling with my dog from Colorado to Missouri. We got in later around 10pm, spent the night in our 18ft RV, did a little nature walk in the morning, and then headed out at 9am. It was everything we needed. We went in November/off-season so we had the whole place to ourselves. I'd recommend and would visit in the future again.

Great place for a biking adventure with kids of all ages. Very nice campground, family friendly, quick to respond when we needed help getting the shower to work. Wish we could have stayed longer! Next time we will!

This site is very peaceful. I enjoyed seeing the sunset, full moon, and then sunrise from the campsite. I would definitely stay here if I come to the area again!
