Home Sweet Home, tucked in the heart of agriculture and lake life, Angola is a wonderful small town in the north east corner of Indiana. Songdog Meadows is our little piece of joy, from morning swims in the pond, long walks with our retrievers and sunsets to take your breath away, it is truly and deeply a treasure we cherish. The property host a variety of apple trees, open grass land, and a large cluster of trees surrounding a 3/4 acre pond, while being surrounded by wood lots on three sides and open fields to the west. It is truly a peaceful haven in a rural country area. Learn more about this land: Hang your hammock or pitch a tent just outside our 3/4 acre pond. There are two basins with a channel and a peaceful tree filled grass area between. The pond is in the corner of the 10 acre lot where we live at the end of a dirt road with only a small amount of traffic. The camp site is walk in on mowed pathways, with the driveway and parking area less than 200 yards away. There is a security light so you will never be in complete darkness. A stone fire pit and picnic table sit just off shore of the swimming area of the pond. There are several wide mowed pathways surrounded by prairie grasses, shaded by large trees. The area can easily handle several tents, hammocks and small RVs. The area is rural farm land with a handful of houses on the short dirt road. But this property is surrounded by wood lots and open fields. Two neighbors houses are visible but separated by trees. Please enter the property using the gate marked "Camp" and park along the wide mowed lane. Park along this path and walk to your desired camping area. Smaller vehicles can pull down to the pond in mid-summer but most of the year it is too wet to drive to the pond. Please use your own discretion. A wonderful site situated between two ponds. Nothing but the sound of nature and the crackle of the camp fire ( wood provided ). This place is perfect for those that want to unwind and reconnect with nature. What a gem !!

This was our second stay at Song Fog Meadow and we loved it as much as the first. Easy to book, easy to find, convenient to several major highways, and this lovely spot is near the end of a dead end country road so it feels very private. It’s likely we’ll be back on another of our long haul camper journeys.

This place was wonderful. You have the option to choose from 2 camp sites when you arrive, one located on a little island, the other is further up the hill in the back. We chose the hill in the back because it had been raining and figured the island would be too wet. I love that it was only us. Very private and plenty of space. Will definitely come back during the summer when the trees have bloomed a bit more and try out the island campsite for some fishing and relaxation.

Quiet little escape!

Hosts gave us privacy but we're very kind when approached for help after we discovered that we ran over a screw on the highway, causing a flat tire. The location is nice and quiet with surprising amount of wildlife (birds, frogs, foxes). Pond wraps around the campsite which is very cool. We camped in the rain so there were some large puddles on the path to the lower campsite but nothing that we couldn't work around. Overall, great experience!

Easy access and convenient to I90

Easy access off of I90. Have stayed here twice when transiting across country and both very restful nights. Nice to stroll around the pond with our dog.

The area was wonderful and we will definitely be back. Our two dogs enjoyed running around and exploring, and the view from our site was beautiful. The host was great to communicate with and directions were clear and easy to understand. We stayed for two days and thoroughly enjoyed our time-- even with the rain and wind! Great property, great host.

Was an Absolutely beautiful spot, peaceful, and the water was incredibly inviting and refreshing. We had 2 teenagers with us, and even they were happy and content( which almost never happens lol), would and will go back 10 star rating from the Fleming clan.

We loved camping at Beth's site! Beautiful pond and huge area to hike around! We swam everyday and had plenty of room for the whole family. Our older dog had the time of her life. Beth was very responsive to our messages and a very great host!!

A sanctuary

This is a beautiful place to stay. My two boys and I camped in our mini van for three nights. We were able to pull up just a few feet away from the pond so when we woke up we had an incredible view of the pond and in the early hours the fog over the pond was beautiful. We brought an inflatable kayak and small boat. My boys enjoyed paddling and swimming around catching frogs the whole time. We saw turtles too and there was a large bird, I’m unsure of the species, that hung out with us most of the time. If you love plants like me there’s plenty to enjoy! Beautiful tall grass and flowers. This camp is truly a sanctuary. You can see their house through some trees, but it still felt very private. I’m typically someone who wants to be in the national forest somewhere and see no one and here I still felt like I could decompress from the world. I don’t think I even put my shoes on for three days, it was wonderful. There is a Luggable Loo provided, but we had our own set up so we didn’t need it. It was also fully stocked with fire wood. Then while packing up we realized my van wouldn’t start! Beth was just leaving, so I had to flag her down! I’m sure it was a sight to see! She was so kind and gracious while helping us. The bonus was we then got to me her adorable dogs that where with her! I would definitely highly recommend this camp! The only thing I’d change is, I would not put my teen son in charge of putting the battery charger back in the van!

Two sites to choose from, one with a picnic table next to a pond, the other further away at the top of a hill. Both have fire rings. No other amenities. I chose the hilltop and spent a pleasant evening there surrounded by trees with shade in the corner. A nice mowed path led around the pond.

Songdog Meadows was a special little piece of heaven that we will, without a doubt, return to! The sound of frogs lulled us to sleep each night and the magic of a foggy sunrise over the water was the best start to each morning. Highly recommended floating in the pond and taking in the ethereal landscape as much as you can while you’re there. Beth was an incredible host and provided everything we needed to have an awesome stay.

This farm is very pretty, with apple trees and a cute little pond. It's also nice and private. Unfortunately it had more mosquitoes than I've ever seen, and the ground was covered in thorns that made walking barefoot impossible. Wear shoes and go hard on the bug spray

Very clear directions, which made it easy to find and get set up as the sun was setting. Very nice to have firewood provided and the little pond site feels like your own little oasis. The frogs at night and the birds in the morning were so nice to listen to!

Beth was a great host! Everything was as described when I arrived. Spending the weekend next to their pond was a peek into such a cool ecosystem with frogs, dragonflies, turtles, birds and more. The location was easy to get to and isolated enough to be peaceful and still near a few towns with interesting things to see like the E&S bakery for yummy treats.

Beautiful spot. We absolutely loved the wildlife. We saw deer, rabbits, and millions of fireflies. We listened to the song birds singing during the day and the frogging croaking at night. We definitely will stay here again.

This was a perfect spot to stop on our cross country roadtrip. We have two high energy dogs who enjoyed being able to run around a little bit and swimming in the pond. The property was very peaceful. We liked it so much we stopped again on our way back across the country!

What a great site for camping and star gazing. My sisters and I were so extremely happy with this site. Was able to slide my little Apache camper back on site no troubles. Small puddle but it was easy with a Jeep. So peaceful we will definitely come back again.

Stunning outdoor VACA

This place was absolutely amazing. We rented for 9 days but had to leave early because the weather was just not on our side. But it's beautiful and peaceful. Didn't catch too many fish but caught a lot of frogs. The morning smell is just breathtaking and the sounds at night are soothing. We camped at the hilltop site. The host is great and left plenty of wood. They don't bother you. There is a dumpster when you're leaving to dispose your trash. Unfortunately I failed to see this at the time and had to leave some trash behind and I felt awful about it but the host was understanding and had already disposed the trash for me. So don't make that mistake like I did. I would definitely recommend this spot, especially if you have big groups and I would love to book this again in the future. The only thing I could recommend, (and this is just my preference) (if I had such beautiful property) I would definitely make a mowed down camping area at least 100x100 in size with a fire pit off to the side instead of middle. We did have an issue finding spots to set up so that we were all together in a circle because of the small mowed areas. But it worked out. Thankfully we had tarps to put on the tall grass. Thank you Beth for hosting such a lovely place.
