Extreme Outdoors Tropical Farm School is set in a lush Native Hawaiian Landscape, merged with a teaching farm school. Our two neighboring locations are a combined nine acres, whereas three acres is a natural park-like atmosphere food forest, chock full of exotic and tropical fruit and ornamental plants and trees, with a setting right in the middle of a vibrant tropical rainforest.
The setting is one of a kind, and not set up at all like a commercial or corporate farm setting, but nestled in a homey natural location, with many features that include ancient Hawaiian farming practice and features which are unique to hawaii, such as Lava caves and beautiful He'iau that is recognizing the goddess Pele. We have an array of unusual fruit trees and vines, including many plants very unique to Hawaii.

Since the inception of this farm nearly two decades ago, we had planned it to be utilized in this way, and every step along our path has manifested itself into a getaway from the hustle-bustle of modern life, yet giving a taste of what it was like to live as the ancient Hawaiians did for more than a thousand years.
We provide this safe space with several conveniences of modern life, yet without being cumbersome or "TOO" modern. Extended Stay beyond 90 days upon pre-approval.
Access from Farm: Easy Access to Bus Stop for both North and South Directions, and Easy Acess to Entire Circumference of Island Bus (Day Pass $2).Extreme Outdoors Tropical Farm School Retreat Camp is a Not-For-Profit Establishment. All Qualifying Applicants do not pay their own fees. We operate on a Fee-Free System. Accommodations when you arrive: We have a Guest Tent for the first two nights after arrival. Each student will then have the opportunity to build their own site, depending on their accommodation. We do provide 10 person (stand up) loaner tents with a fully refundable damage deposit. We use full cycle Composting Toilets & Humanure Process, which will also help students learn how to ecologically live with a much smaller footprint. There is an outdoor kitchen with gas cooking, and we provide the tools for each long-term student to have all their food subsidised, so that there will be no cost to eat as well. Our Tropical Farm School Retreats run for 90 days at a time, but you may extend your stay with advance approval from our team. This is a very comprehensive retreat, and our goal is to have zero costs to students during their stays, with the exception of their plane ticket.
