Immerse yourself in the verdant slopes of South Kona within the historic coffee-growing region. Our Coffee Cabana stands as the original home, known as "coffee shacks," nestled on this 6-acre permaculture coffee farm. The Cabana comprises three rooms, two bathrooms, and a full kitchen, all ensconced within a lush jungle of tropical trees. Peek through the forest to catch glimpses of the ocean, offering a mesmerizing display of sunset hues. Please be aware that two of the bedrooms are accessible from outside of the house and do not feature internal doors to the main room. Additionally, the couch in the living room converts into a full-sized bed. Access the master bedroom through the living room, where you'll find an en suite bathtub, sink, and toilet. The second bathroom offers a rustic outdoor experience with a bathroom and shower. For your convenience, we provide beach and snorkel gear, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the beauty of South Kona without breaking the bank! Our Captain Cook Coffee Cabana is perched at the top of our steep tropical jungle where we grow coffee and other tree fruits. Guests will enjoy this private cabana and the jungle around them, but please be aware that our neighbor's house is about 100 feet away (though hidden by the trees) so sound levels must remain respectable, especially after 9pm. The sounds of the jungle (like the nighttime choir of Coqui frogs) are very strong up here, and the sounds from Mamalahoa Hwy are also nearby (but much calmer at night). We provide ear plugs in case it's all a little too much for a good night's rest!

Captain Cook Coffee Cabana
We really enjoyed this rustic cabin. Great location for the captain cook area. The complimentary coffe from the farm was a delicious touch. It’s true the highway noise is there so the earplugs were much appreciated.

Cute bungalow
Cute little bungalow with all the things you could need. Also loved that there was the outside bathroom with shower. They give ear plugs to help with the loud frogs.🐸 Note that the windows in the main bedroom only has screens no glass, wasn’t a problem for us, but may be for those that are sensitive to sounds. We loved the nature sounds.

Captain Cook Coffee Cabana
Very charming slopeside cabin that has all of the necessities covered - bath, shower, laundry, cooking. Ample space for a sit-down meal. Kasey is attentive, communicative and very helpful. Location is ideal for world-class snorkeling on the Kona coast. An easy 20-30 minutes to big box stores and the airport, and lots of cool thrift shops, coffee farms and local restaurants just a few minutes away. Spotty WIFI, but not a priority for us. Verizon network is strong. Absolutely would recommend this rustic, down-to-earth, old-school Hawaiian retreat.

Jungle cottage
It’s a groovy little jungle cottage experience. Just enough modern amenities mixed with old school island living. The frogs will serenade you to sleep. Most of the windows are only screened so you can take a bug free open air bath and watch the sunset through the canopy or take a true outside shower below the house. You can walk through the rough trails around the coffee farm and get freshly dropped avocados, mangos and pomelos. The only downside is its proximity to the road means the sound of cars can obnoxiously penetrate the peaceful jungle vibe. It is also located near a lot of good local food shops, fruit stands, roadside bakeries and coffee farms so you can support local businesses. The nearby beaches are undeveloped island treasures that offer post card pictures and great memories.

A sip of beauty.
Nice cabana, with kitchen and fridge. We were able to cook our meals and enjoy the lushness of Captain Cook. The cabana is tucked in just off the highway in a nice wild jungle. The bathtub and main bedroom have a great view over the coffee farm and ocean. We really enjoy the captain Cook area for its natural beauty, great snorkelling and prestige beaches. There’s a farmers market across from Managos that’s worth checking out and a few great restaurants in the area. The kitchen also makes it easy enjoy sunset meals.
