Great area with lots to do. There was a mushroom festival in town with a car and rock show, live music etc. The host was amazing, helped with information on hiking trails and things to do in the area. Hiking trails right behind camp, and a stream very close for the kids to play and discover new things in. Our boys had a really fun time on their first camping trip! If you haven’t already, give this place a visit.

My sin and I enjoyed our stop at Barts property. The scenery was gorgeous. He fetched some firewood fornme and his wife brought kinding. Their son incuded mine in a morning walk down to the creek and to a neighbors place to explore. The composting toilet was awesome. No smell and it was clean and peaceful. It was an added bonus to have a covered outdoor kitchen/seating area with a fresh spring water sink, ample counter space, table, stools, and electricity. Bonus an electric tea kettle! There was a box with maps, guides, and other goodies for guests. There was a crazy hard trail up the mountain behind the site that was steep and slippery. The view was worth it. We will definitely be back.

My partner and I loved this campsite so much we didn’t ever want to leave! Even in the early spring it was a peaceful little oasis with the butter cups and trickling stream. I didn’t realize how much I needed an outdoor kitchen / yoga deck in my life until now. And even though Bart was unable to physically be at the campground while we were there, he was very attentive and checked in on us via text to make sure everything was going well. We will be back. Thank you Bart!!

We enjoyed camping on Bart’s property. The views were spectacular. The outdoor kitchen area was perfect. There is a hiking trail that leads up to the compost outhouse and then continues up to a ledge where you can climb up and hike some more. They have a garden of peppers and herbs which was a nice addition to our breakfast tacos. We definitely recommend.

Very nice set up. Very secluded. Unfortunately the public use sync was not working. It is a multiple site camp so be prepared for a very close neighbor which we had both nights. Enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and the stars were so bright at night. We definitely recommend.

The area was super pretty and very excluded from everywhere else. Bart had trails all around for you to hike. The camp site had running water and electricity. It was amazing

We started our vacation in Virginia, but because of hurricane Debbie, we ended up staying here on a moments notice.
What we found was a really quiet and secluded property. Even when other campers showed up, there was plenty of space between us.
Loved the outdoor shower, even with only cold water my wife and I found it very refreshing after a long day outside.
And the toilet, yes the toilet is worthy of mention. Made of cedar, I don’t know how that composting toilet works, but no foul odors whatsoever. Only the aroma of cedar and leaves.
The only thing we found in disrepair was the picnic table, looks like someone forgot to take out the umbrella before a windstorm.
Bart has a gem of a property, and we will definitely be back.

Very pleased! It was breathtakingly scenic with Kentucky hills. I loved the steep hiking trail behind the campground. It's extremely difficult, but certainly made for an adventurer.
The seclusion is a one of the best attributes. It contrasts from larger campgrounds that don't quite get you far enough off the grid, but also provides some great basic necessities. (wi-fi, kitchen sink, cold shower, etc.)
Don't anticipate anything fancy here, but that's what gives this campsite it's unique touch. You'll have exactly what you need to have a true camping experience!

This was a quiet & peaceful location for one night. We didn’t have any communication from the host regarding our arrival, but he unfortunately had a family emergency & got in touch after our stay, so that was appreciated. Luckily, we had the area to ourselves. We felt a little uncomfortable wandering around initially, but were content once we got our bearings. Some signage or a map would help, but for future visitors- the shower is behind the a-frame & so is the trail to the outhouse (including other trails, too!). The views are lovely!

Beautiful, peaceful campsite. I camped alone with my three small dogs and we felt safe. Met Bart and his wife and they were down to earth folks who I could tell love sharing their property with other's. I would definitely camp here again!

The campsite at Bart’s was ethereal with such beautiful views from our tent. We were warmly welcomed by the family and offered a selection of three different spots to camp at. Each had its own fire pit, with fire wood available at the site chopped by Bart. He even showed us how to chop our own with axe! We cooked using the over fire grate that he had, and enjoyed some veggies from their garden! The outdoor kitchen was really nice in the morning to put our breakfasts together. Bart was a great host and was very helpful! Would 100% recommend for a fun getaway to a beautiful and relaxing weekend out in the country!
