2 nights at Destination Sunset

We booked this spot to celebrate my birthday. It is our favorite Hipcamp place that we’ve ever visited! The property is unbelievably gorgeous with everything you need to make your camping stay perfect. Tim was extremely fast to reply to my questions. We watched dolphins each morning and evening and the fishing was the best. It was very relaxing and we can’t wait to return. Our doggos absolutely loved the free range fun. I have to admit that the star of the trip was meeting the neighbors, Scott and Kelly. They graciously invited us over for cocktails and let our pups run in their yard. They took us out on their beautiful dock to fish. Truly, rare humans! We loved the camping but also can’t wait to go back and see our new friends! Can’t recommend this place enough. Who would think this is Jax?

1 night at Destination Sunset

First of all, the camp site is beautiful and on a 3/4 acre of fenced property equipped with hook ups, canoes, a fishing dock and complete privacy. If you’re looking for a place that is both quiet and beautiful, this is for your. My kids spent their day catching blue crab, they caught 14 in total. We also enjoyed fishing and canoeing. I can’t wait to come back and highly recommend staying here. Tim was a wonderful and kind host.

Tim’s camp on BHI is an excellent getaway with a perfect setting. The neighbors are friendly and the area is very quiet, we will definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to Lofton Retreat

My husband and I absolutely loved Lofton Retreat. Peggy was so kind. She brought over our fresh dozen of eggs and a little flower arrangement to put on the picnic table. It was so peaceful and the grounds are so beautiful. On our last day we finally got to see Walker ( the turtle) We also enjoyed taking our 4x4 Camper van out on the beach at Amelia State Park only $2 per person. We can’t wait to come back again!

Very nice and secluded piece of land. Friendly dogs that came by to say hello and play with my kids. The owner introduced himself and we had a great chat getting to know each other. No issues with deer flies as others have reported. I came during early June. I would definitely come back.

Absolutely beautiful environment, very peaceful and you could not ask for a better host between Ron and Miss Cathy. Sites were big where you had plenty of privacy and anybody you ran into there was real friendly.

Lots were good size, all connections were in good working order. Swim at your own risk posted, so that was the only issue. And fishing would be great if you have a boat. Ron and his wife were very courteous and friendly. Nice people.

Easy to find even in the dark. The last 2 miles was an active logging road. The crews were scraping the road after heavy rains the day before. Do bring bug spray, we were bombarded by the biggest horse flies I have ever seen.

2 nights at Cassabl Farm

This property was secluded and beautiful with so many mossy trees and even a small creek with the tiniest baby alligator. Hey Wally! They warned us ahead of time about the deer and horseflies but we came prepared with ALL the sprays and they weren't nearly as bad as the spot we were at before. Tons of firewood was provided for $10/day and each spot had solar lights and citronella candles. You can tell they try to go the extra mile to make their guests comfortable.

6 nights at Lofton Retreat

We loved this beautiful quiet camp near Fernandina. There are lots of trees, a safe place to walk the pooch, and lots of privacy. It was a great base camp to explore Amelia Island in the surrounding area. Peggy and Rick we're we're also very helpful and readily available.

Weekend Trip to Destination Sunset

Destination Sunset was the nicest Hip Camp we've visited. The grounds are beautiful with towering trees dripping with Spanish Moss. Watching the water was so peaceful and we saw dolphins and a flock of flamingos flew over our heads. Our pup.wqs in heaven with the ability to run free and swim. Tim was friendly and communication was great. Highly recommend!!

Our vision is to change the behavior of children now and the diabetic and obesity rates of future generations through healthier and more traditional diets provided by better farming methods using Permaculture. Within the Permaculture is a community activated, working farm that will educate, support, and inspire the participants, school tours, and visitors to eventually reproduce Permaculture gardens of their own. Gardens that will continue to provide a variety of fruits, vegetables, and herbs for families throughout the area and beyond. Changing the minds of young and old to a safer and more natural way of growing their own food and to improve the choices they make about the foods that they consume. Our primary focus is to change the behavior of children by changing the food they choose to eat. As they tour the farm, they can pick the fruits and vegetables of their choice to bring home with them. They can also pick fruits and vegetables to bring to the smoothie shack where we make them a smoothie of their own design. All of these services are free. We, as Permaculturist, have the responsibility to keep this knowledge alive by offering as much training as possible. We have designed a coordinated efforts program in which we provide free instruction in Permaculture techniques. We have just completed a free 12 week course in HOW TO BUILD A PERMACULTURE GARDEN IN THE BACK YARD OF AN HOA SUBDIVISION (See attached syllabus) Permaculture in Paradise strives to create a complete ecosystem by rescuing abandoned and neglected farm animals. While these animals are free to roam and engage with minimal fencing, they are content to stay in their happy oasis. Guava trees near the duck pond provide the ducks with a shaded resting spot. The ducks feed on vegetable plants growing near the pond. The chickens happily share space with the ducks and feed on any insect intruders in their vegetable garden. All 4 ducks were rescued at a very young age (unkown) and have flourished with contentment. We have 8 older hens, producing 7 eggs a day, providing eggs for and shared between the rescued dogs, cats, and a homeless family we sponsor. The goal is to be self-sustainable by growing all food for the ecosystem. We are in the process of rescuing a rooster, 2 goats, and a pig. We have a barn that contains 40 piglets that have all been adopted out. Available for our next rescue, is a mature horse in need. In 2023, we began acquiring larger animals needing shelter. We are creating ties with organizations such as Farm Santuary and Humane Society to rescue farm animals. These animals also serve as entertainment for children who tour the farm. Built on Native American land, we have built 2 playgrounds and a recreational pond for fishing, kayaking, and canoeing and cabins for camping. We strive to make eating fruits and vegetables fun. WE NEED YOUR HELP! WE ARE LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS TO HELP PLANT OUR ORCHARD. We have received a grant that will provide up to 530 fruit and nut trees of 30 different varieties depending on the number of volunteers that sign up. They will donate 2 trees per volunteer, plus a 3rd tree for the volunteer to take home. The process will take about 2 to 3 hours and will be held on a Friday and Saturday in February, March, or April. You may sign up for Friday, Saturday or both. Because we need the volunteer list in order to determine tree count, we must have a head count prior to knowing the event date. Once we have the date, we will notify you.
