Tropical oasis beach, fis peaceful.
Great spot in Kay Largo. Even though the beaches in Kay Largo are not that great, in this hipcamp my kids had a lot of fun playing at this private beach. Site is clean and safe. The only thing is that there is also a Airbnb on the site. We couldn't make some noise with our kids before 10 am not to bother the Airbnb tenants. It was a little complicated for us... Otherwise, I think it is worth the price and the host is very involved!

Camping on Captain Jack’s land was one of the highlights of our trip, and we even cancelled our reservation at John Pennekamp to spend an extra night here! This is the type of place that is so good you don’t want to review it because you don’t want to spoil it. 🙏🏼
Captain Jack and his family are most gracious hosts and their property is magical. It’s waterfront, with excellent fishing, a sandy beach, and beautiful landscaping with coconuts on the trees.
We caught 3 different types of fish, (there’s a cleaning station right on the dock!) and even a couple crabs, too. A manatee swam under us below the dock one evening, we snorkeled, and saw some of the best sunsets of our trip here from his west-facing beach.
The best part for us was the privacy, as we are outdoorsy folks who like it quiet, authentic, and chill. This place felt truly relaxing.
Prior to us checking in, (which was easy), Captain Jack provided an awesome list of local favorites, and we tried several of his recommendations and were really pleased.
My only regret here is that we didn’t stay longer, but when we left we felt like we were parting as friends. The Cap’n was the nicest person we met in all of South Florida.

Bayside camping, fishing & sunsets.
Everything went well! Nice waterfront view with gorgeous sunsets. Our campsite was very comfortable with a fire pit, picnic table and chairs. The electric, sewer and water worked great. We can’t wait to camp here again. Captain Jack was a great host!

Camping paradise
We loved every minute of our stay. Location was ideal, located near plenty of bars and restaurants. The property is beautiful and very serene with nice trees that house squirrels and birds. Perfect place to unwind and enjoy beautiful sunsets. The beach is well kept as well as the dock. Captain Jack was a pleasure and very helpful in all things host related. Look forward to visiting again!
