Both yurts have 3-speed fans included and do not have AC or heat. 5. Extra guests in the yurt? The yurts have a strict 2-guest-only policy. 6. Can friends (not on my reservation) come visit me? No. All visitors here must be registered guests as the public is not granted access here. 7. How far is the beach? North Ocean City, MD and Fenwick Island DE are both only 5-6 miles away. 8. How secure is the camping area? There is a coded entrance gate at the property entrance along with 6 outdoor security cameras that stay on 24 hours a day for guest and livestock safety. The locations are 2 at the entrance gate, barn house entrance/building overhang, tiny house entrance, horse grooming area, parking area, and inside the stables. These outdoor cameras also record at night and are available for any emergency services to review. 9. Are there animals nearby? Yes! Cowtown is named after our unique Scottish Highland bull with one horn up and one down. You'll see “Herbie” peacefully grazing in a nearby pasture along with horses, goats, an alpaca, a sheep, a rare curly-haired pig, a peacock, and fancy top-hat chickens that all call the ranch home. 10. Participating in a guest activity is mandatory here. We have FREE indoor scavenger hunts and the FREE Name Challenge memory game. Our most popular experience is "Chores N' Tour” where you meet up with Shelley to feed and get up close and personal while feeding 20+ animals. Go ahead! take selfies with Fonzie the kissing alpaca, play the rollover challenge with Charlotte the pig, and hay the jumping goats. As a bonus, Shelley will also let you check out the inside of any unoccupied Airbnbs on the property to plan your next trip! Chores N' tour is $10/ person. 1 hr. long. Do guests have access to the entire ranch? No, guests have access to the glampground, cornhole, and parking area here at the ranch. The rest of the property is reserved for animal pastures (habitats) and fenced off for safety. Animals are easily viewed from all locations but not touched. 12. What sounds can I expect to hear? Expect to hear typical sounds of nature such as crickets, owls, and the crackling of a fire. In the morning, you'll hear our sweet goat trio, Charlotte the pig, and her excited "oinks" along with the occasional "moooo" and possibly a crow from the rooster and a "honk" from Petey our peacock who is ready for breakfast! 13. What are the check-out procedures? We ask that guests leave the yurt the way they found it (neat and tidy.) We also love to brag about any super clean guests!

Where the Little Touches Make a Big Difference We stayed recently at Why Not Acres via Hipcamp and it was truly one of the best camping experiences we’ve had. From the moment we arrived, the place exceeded expectations. What Makes It Special • Top-notch amenities — They’ve thought of everything to make camping easy and comfortable. Our site came with kindling, firewood, charcoal, and a lighter, plus a fire ring ready to go. Such small touches make a big difference. • Spotless facilities — The shower rooms and bathrooms were immaculate. Warm water, clean, well-maintained, and plenty of space. • Friendly, welcoming hosts — Marian (and Mike) were wonderful. Warm, helpful, very responsive, and clearly proud of their land. They greet you like you’re guests in their home, not just customers. • Peace, space & nature — The property is just stunning. There’s plenty of room, beautiful surroundings. The presence of the horses adds a charming farm-feeling that’s relaxing and fun. • Convenient, but still quiet — Close enough for trips to the beach and local stores, but far enough removed so you feel like you’re getting away from it all. As with most rural/farm-type stays, bring your insect repellent. Why Not Acres is more than just a campsite—it’s a peaceful, well-cared for retreat. The amenities are excellent, the hosts are warm and helpful, and the natural setting is beautiful. If you want comfort and a sense of escape, this is definitely the place. We’ll be back.

I was planning to camp at a State Park but made a last minute change, and I am so glad that I did. I stayed 2 nights, and I camp quite a bit, so I know a great camp site when I see it! Camp layout & privacy: There are several designated spaces to choose for your tent. They are all in nicely shaded spots, and the ground was pleasantly soft. You have the entire place to yourself, with no visible neighbors, though you will hear occasional (minimal) road noise. Amenities: Shayne has thought of everything, and then a few more things! I am used to very primitive camping, but it was cool to see that some camping essentials were also provided. This would be a great place for people who are just getting started camping! The Uncontained indoor space was amazing. It smelled of lavendar and provided a very sophisticated indoor space. The fire pit and chairs were perfect, and I made use of the throw blankets when the evening around the fire got chilly. The bathroom was very clean and well maintained, and there was even a handwashing station. I also enjoyed several hours in the hammock. Local area: Right by the site is a small walking trail, as well as a bridge where you can feed the turtles. I did both :) The nearby towns provide any essentials you may have forgotten, and I enjoyed a river walk in nearby Federalsburg. I also was able to drive 1 hr to visit Assateague Island, which was a bucket list item for me!

Weekend Trip to Why Not Acres

We stayed at Why Not Acres for four days and three nights. it was very nice, the host came and greeted us, told us a little about them and the farm which is a Equine rescue and they have donkeys and horses both normal and minis and across the street is a bison farm. The shower and bathrooms were outstanding very clean and well supplied. Each site was spacious came with electric and plenty of firewood. It was peaceful both night and day. 30 Minutes from Rehoboth Beach 45 Minutes from Lewis, 6 miles from Millsboro which has several gas stations/ convenience stores along with fast food joints and a few nicer restaurants. Great peaceful place in the middle of nowhere close to a lot.

Weekend Trip to Kingsley Orchards, LLC

We had a lovely stay this past weekend! We had the whole place to ourselves which was nice. Dale delivered our firewood and farm fresh eggs right to our campsite upon arrival. Site 5 is the furthest away from the farm market which is where the bathroom and shower are located, maybe a 10 minute walk. The shower is outdoors, but equipped with hot water, enclosed in a stall and very clean. There was some noise from an event being held at the venue behind the market one night, but it was far enough away that it didn’t bother us. The only downsides to the site were lack of shade and privacy from the road that runs behind the property. I would definitely recommend bringing a canopy for shade. If I stayed again, I’d probably choose site 4 as there are tall patches of wildflower meadows in between each site, which provides a little more privacy. Overall, a great place to stay and very convenient for all of the places we wanted to visit nearby!

We loved the tiny home on the farm! We were traveling with our toddler and had room for her bedroll and a toddler potty in addition to our suitcase and space to dress. The tv came in very handy when the thunderstorms hit. Andrea and Michael were generous hosts, educating us and our daughter on farm life and letting us cuddle some of the goats (ht to piper the goat, my daughter loves you). We enjoyed the hot tub during nap time and it was perfect! The bath house was spacious and clean. We’re already looking forward to a return visit, perhaps with friends!

HORSES WELCOME! Why not run your horse on the beach, then come to our campsites to relax for the rest of your day. There is a fenced pasture positioned next to the sites so you can see your faithful friend enjoying some grass or hay. We have a new Zinger 29' trailer set up with a bunk room and another bedroom, full kitchen and bathroom. It can easily sleep six people. If you have your own RV, we have a full hook up at the same area. The pasture where your horse stays will also have hay, water and shelter with a run-in. This is a sanctuary for our animals. We have nine animals here, four horses (some minnies) and five donkeys (some minnies). By staying here, you will be helping us to support our animals. We are in Frankford, De which is close to all the beaches and parks. There are many shopping adventures awaiting you, either outlets or upcycle stores. If you just want to relax, there is a small pond out back stocked with bass and turtles. We have 17+ acres but we only use the front five acres and leave the rest for the deer, foxes, eagles, hawks and whatever else shows up. We believe this is Heaven on earth and would love to share it will you. So please come, stay at our farm and relax. We are here year round.
