*We have free range chickens and friendly border collie. Sometimes there's a dog staying at the other cabin. Wildlife is also in the area, so we require that dogs be supervised and leashed, for their safety, and our wild animal neighbors. No dogs may be left unattended in our cabins while you go out! Take your canine pal with you! Quiet hours: dusk to 7am. Also consider your dog's inclination for barking. We keep the peace and quiet of all of our guests in mind.
*DRAGON LOFT has one double bed in a loft with steep ladder. Great for two people. Room for dog bed or kennel below the loft. Has a nice reading/coffee room, fridge, oil radiator, hot plate, WiFi, deck with table and chairs, patio with fire ring., grill outside. You have full use of the trails in our woods!
*RAVEN WATCH is larger and comfortable for up to four people. Solar power, off grid (no WiFi). Double bed upstairs overlooking the pond, and another downstairs by the cozy wood stove. A cute little kitchen with a nice gas stove and wash area. Fire ring outside. Wood supply. Price based on two adults. Small fee for up to two more people +pets. Next to pond, creek and woods! Our yurt sits on the edge of a wild woods on the banks of the Cloquet River overlooking a meadow that is an active forest restoration project currently in process. From your door, you can access a loop of trails that wind through the woods, to the river and back to the yurt.
Get back to basics. There is no electricity or running water in the yurt. Camp lanterns and solar lights are provided as is refillable fresh water and a propane camp stove/oven with pots/pans/utensils. The yurt is heated solely by a wood stove and there is plenty of firewood a short distance away with a sled or wagon to use for hauling. A campfire pit is just outside the yurt with a hanging grill and grilling tools. A detached outhouse is a short walk from the yurt and is for your use alone when you're here. In the winter, a Luggable Loo is available to bring to the yurt to eliminate trips at night in the cold to the outhouse. The yurt contains a queen bed with linens and a single camp cot available on request.
Dogs are welcome in the yurt! We charge a $25 pet fee per reservation. If you'd like to bring a dog or dogs (limit 2), please add the Pet Fee which is listed as an extra during the booking process.
In the warm months, the river is great for swimming and fishing.
(And Coming Soon: Kayaks, river tubes, and canoe availability pending the sorting of proper insurance.)
In the winter, two pairs of snowshoes are included for quiet walks through the woods.
*Note: Train sounds and some road noise can be heard from the yurt.
The train has been described as "quite loud" by some guests and as sounding "off in the distance" and "pleasant" by others. The crossing is a half mile away. If you're sensitive to sounds, a light sleeper, or looking for complete and utter quiet, please take this into account. Ear plugs are also available in the yurt.

Welcome to our little retreat in the Northwoods of Wisconsin! We've got 24 acres of mostly Aspen Forest with oaks and maples. There's around 3km trails and a seasonal stream. We're located just 15 minutes from Lake Superior and Lake Nebagamon for fishing, swimming, and boating and 20 minutes from the twin ports of Superior and Duluth. Enjoy the touristy sites of the twin ports and then retreat to a quiet rural rustic campsite for a fire and conversation at the end of the day. Currently no outhouse on the property (hence the low price) but we have 15amp electric on our solar microgrid and we're working to add more everyday!

Our yurt sits on the edge of a wild woods on the banks of the Cloquet River overlooking a meadow that is an active forest restoration project currently in process. From your door, you can access a loop of trails that wind through the woods, to the river and back to the yurt.
Get back to basics. There is no electricity or running water in the yurt. Camp lanterns and solar lights are provided as is refillable fresh water and a propane camp stove/oven with pots/pans/utensils. The yurt is heated solely by a wood stove and there is plenty of firewood a short distance away with a sled or wagon to use for hauling. A campfire pit is just outside the yurt with a hanging grill and grilling tools. A detached outhouse is a short walk from the yurt and is for your use alone when you're here. In the winter, a Luggable Loo is available to bring to the yurt to eliminate trips at night in the cold to the outhouse. The yurt contains a queen bed with linens and a single camp cot available on request.
Dogs are welcome in the yurt! We charge a $25 pet fee per reservation. If you'd like to bring a dog or dogs (limit 2), please add the Pet Fee which is listed as an extra during the booking process.
In the warm months, the river is great for swimming and fishing.
(And Coming Soon: Kayaks, river tubes, and canoe availability pending the sorting of proper insurance.)
In the winter, two pairs of snowshoes are included for quiet walks through the woods.
*Note: Train sounds and some road noise can be heard from the yurt.
The train has been described as "quite loud" by some guests and as sounding "off in the distance" and "pleasant" by others. The crossing is a half mile away. If you're sensitive to sounds, a light sleeper, or looking for complete and utter quiet, please take this into account. Ear plugs are also available in the yurt.

Welcome to our little retreat in the Northwoods of Wisconsin! We've got 24 acres of mostly Aspen Forest with oaks and maples. There's around 3km trails and a seasonal stream. We're located just 15 minutes from Lake Superior and Lake Nebagamon for fishing, swimming, and boating and 20 minutes from the twin ports of Superior and Duluth. Enjoy the touristy sites of the twin ports and then retreat to a quiet rural rustic campsite for a fire and conversation at the end of the day. 2 nights at Into The Woods
Where do I even start? Maybe at the fact that we absolutely cannot wait to return?! We had so much fun at “the dome”. The autumn trees worked out perfectly for us – the trees were in full color and the weather mostly cooperated while we were there. The second night we were able to see the stars and MY GOODNESS, it was absolutely spectacular.
It was expected to be pretty chilly during the night, so I brought a 10x20ft tarp to lay on the ground and help insulate against it and I think that helped significantly during our second night when the temp was about 36*. We cooked over the fire mostly for meals, but also drove the few minutes to A&W for root beer floats daily.
The compostable toilet is located behind a small partition to provide a bit of privacy, but there is also a gas station within three minutes of the site so I just drove to use that one mostly. The solar powered fan circulated the air a bit, but there’s only so much you can move the air around in a dome shaped space… it was 70* on our second day and it got warm inside of the dome pretty quickly.
We were able to buy firewood at the Adventure Church lot (five minutes away) and paid $5/bundle in cash at a self-serve stand. This stand is covered, so it had dry wood even after it rained the first night.
We loved how secluded it felt without also feeling like we were in the middle of nowhere. Overall, as the first camp like experience for us, it was a roaring success! Highly highly recommend, 10/10.

I really enjoyed this campsite, it has truly breathtaking views of the lake and you can’t beat a beach fire! It was very peaceful, even with the other cabins being occupied. We ended up arriving later than planned so it was dark, and still the maps, signs, and trails were very easy to follow. The lodge with the showers and sauna is a HUGE bonus. The cabin and outhouse were very well maintained and very clean, my entire group commented their enthusiasm on that. Overall a great spot and I can’t wait to plan another trip back!

Wow, this was my first HipCamp experience and I am pretty sure it has spoiled me for any future stays! The bar has been set pretty high, for sure. There were so many beautiful touches and attention to detail in both a practical and anesthetic sense. I watched turtles swimming in the pond, laughed at a precocious squirrel hurling pine cones at the steel roof of the cabin, and marvelled at a very large heard of deer as I walked the meadow and photographed a gorgeous field of wildflowers. My stay was far too short. I genuinely hope to come here again and spend more time. Thank you for sharing your little piece of heaven on earth. 🥰

Little slice of Heaven! The host has a very kind and caring vibe, quick to respond to messages and checked in to make sure we were comfortable or needed anything a couple times, which was perfect! Anytime we talked, in person or messages, it felt calm and comfortable. Easy to talk to! It's a great spot for some rustic glamping, it was great for my family and our dog! We will be checking availability if we're in the area again! It's not a fancy camper, it's not new, it's well loved, taken care of and comfortable! The campsite has a cozy feel, surrounded by nature and easy to find. I loved the homemade rock ring around the fire, it was perfect for our cooking set up we bring with us camping! I prefer camp fire cooking but did use the stove top once and had no issues. A sink just big enough to wash dishes, a fridge big enough for 3+ days of food and snacks, the bathroom is tight (part of a small camper) but the toilet works well, a screened in area was so nice, we had very few bugs sneak into the camper! Space for our things but had things like dishes and utensils supplied. We also used the heater one night with no issues. If you're looking for a spot to call home base and don't mind a small, well loved camper, you'll enjoy it here! It's close to state parks, beaches, river spots, there's so many adventures close by! We didn't have time to check out their trails... They looked nice from camp though and it's on the list if we make another trip over! Trip well spent ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

First time at the dome, it was a lovely time! Loved how private it was and Linda was very helpful with instructions and answering my questions!
Having a fan in there was nice due to the August humidity, tho it didn’t last very long. It did rain heavily once and there was some leaking from the roof, but we caught the drips in some containers, but nothing that ruined the experience for us!

We really enjoyed the Northern Lights Campground. It is close enough to everything you need and somehow super remote! We had so much fun on the lake with the canoe & kayak. We saw a whole flock of swans. Plus, the view of the sky was just what we were looking for! Eric was very helpful communication wise and answered all questions timely. Absolutely loved staying here! Not only is it a fun thing to be off grid but the property is very comfortable. The host was knowledgeable and very friendly. The bonus was the adorable dog my boyfriend loved playing with. We were given farm fresh eggs upon arrival but I am bummed we forgot them. Great place to relax for sure!! We will stay there again.
