Their dairy cows pastured in areas which we now graze sheep.  The restored quarry provided gravel for the nearby highway restoration and local projects.The property is currently a mix of hay ground, cropland, pasture, forest, and quarry. Twin sisters, Darla and Kayla, and their families live across the road from each other and own the surrounding 140 acres. They keep busy planting/tending trees, making hay, moving fence for grazing animals, operating a farm business called Twin Folk Farms (pastured meat, camps, etc), and raising their families.Learn more about this land:- This site is at the edge of a restored quarry, sheep pasture, and wooded hillside.- The site is tucked down a flat mowed path, so it feels very private and protected. - You can hike up a path to the sheep pasture. Sometimes sheep are there, sometimes elsewhere on the farm. You can hike the other direction and check out the restored quarry. We have paths all around the property, so feel free to respectfully explore.- You can't see the highway from this site, but you can hear it. It's super handy to be able to hop out of your campsite haven and onto the hwy, but be aware that you will hear vehicles.- There's a Mississippi river boat launch a few miles down the road, so feel free to park your boat at the bottom of the quarry driveway.- The Hay Creek riding trails are 25 minutes away, so contact us if you want to set up a place in the quarry to park your horses and trailer for the night. - We are certified to sell meat straight off of the farm (Twin Folk Farms), so contact us if you want to purchase your meat and have it delivered to your campsite. Situated on 36 acres, this working farm is 2 miles West of Taylors Falls. Dan bought this property with the intention of growing stone fruits (plums, peaches, apricots and cherries) using sustainable and organic practices because health and wellness matter to them! They are still in the process of improving their property. Many of the building on the property were in poor condition, including the old barn foundation which is now one of Dan and Danielle favorite places to keep cool in the summer. After they had excavated all the debris (which took years) they were able to transform it with gardens and fire pit for all to enjoy. They love sharing what they have been blessed with! We loved "glamping" here! The cabin was adorable and had everything we needed. The location was perfect...secluded, yet so close to several gorgeous hiking spots. The stargazing was incredible. Our pups (one of whom is scared of other dogs and people) were so happy to have the seclusion. It was the perfect spot to spend our days hiking, and our nights being cozy in the cabin!

Dan greeted us warmly and offered our children the chance to pick an apple from his tree. His farm is gorgeous with vibrant sunsets and a quiet breeze through the grasses. We were very comfortable in the spacious tent and made a cozy bonfire both nights. We highly recommend staying here!

We loved staying on Candace’s land! Our kids and dogs felt right at home. It was upscale tent camping. We had a great outdoor fire for breakfast, dinner, and s’mores and a great indoor fire to keep us warm on the cool fall nights. The beds were comfortable - especially when you’re used to a tent and a camping pad! And the house heated up so nicely. It was really nicely stocked - we normally bring tongs, spatula, etc. but there were some hung on the cabin which was a nice touch. It was really nice not to get service for a few days, enjoy the scenery, and bum around local towns. We’d absolutely stay again. ❤️

2 nights at Stone Creek Farm

I loved camping in Dan's yurt campsite! The walk from the car is perfect, just long enough to feel like you are really out there camping! The views walking to the bathroom in the fall were just gorgeous! Speaking of the bathroom don't be scared off by the composting toilet. Dan provides plenty of woodchips/sawdust to cover everything up and there is no odor! The bbq grill and bonfire ring are great to have options. The picnic table seats plenty of people. It rained a bit while we were there and everything in the tent stayed dry thanks to the extra plastic Dan has placed over the top of the yurt. Dan is so kind and generous and feels like going over to a friend's house to camp. Can't wait to return next year!

She has a wonderful garden that she allowed us to pick vegetables and herbs from and she wouldn’t let us pay for them, which was so generous! This was our second time here; we’ll be back next year! Such a great retreat from the city! I used the provided kayak for a sunset paddle and the firewood was at site as well. Gorgeous sunset and even better sunrise! Quiet, private, and the view was stunning. I took a bunch of photos to make oil paintings. Bob Ross! Haha The host was so great helping me back out on my tear drop’s maiden voyage. Nice guy! Thanks Adam! Only an hour from TC and plenty of places to stock up for needs along the way. Loved it.

2 nights at Serenity Valley

This cabin was wonderful and exactly what we were looking for to unplug and unwind for a few days. Perfect for what we were looking for and very serene and cozy. Our dogs absolutely loved the being able to run around and play on the land and there was tons of exploring for them to do. Thank you for having us! We can’t wait to visit again!

I’m so grateful for my time at Hill Camp. It felt like a dream waking up every morning as the sun rose over meadows full of aster and goldenrod. Sue and Allen were warm and kind and gave me great tips for places to check out, including an Amish bakery nearby! At night, you can see the Milky Way and hear full convos between owls and katydids and even (I think!) coyotes. During hunting season, you might periodically hear gun shots in the distance, but only during the day. In terms of amenities, the port-a-potty is very close, and if you need access to a sink or electricity, they have both at their cute little greenhouse down the way. This was my first time camping at a farm, and I can’t wait to come back and do it all over again 🥹🌾✨

Dan was an excellent host, he provided a nice outhouse that was well kept. The tent was the perfect size. And it was gorgeous on his land. I'd go back in a heartbeat. There are plenty of things to do in the area and stores are relatively close if anything is needed.

We head back to Stone Creek Farm every year. It's so beautiful there, and easy with tents already set up for you. With Franconia, Taylors Falls, and lots to do nearby, it's the perfect weekend getaway for us and our kids.
