We have valleys with three ridges, total elevation is about 300 feet from low point to high point. We have two springs on the property that are the source for a small unnamed creek that feeds into Trout Creek and then the Kickapoo River.
The property has walking paths in the grassy pasture areas in the valley (partially mowed), unmowed trails up and down the hillsides and on the ridges, and a high bluff overlook.
We are between the towns of Soldiers Grove and Readstown, 2 miles from the Kickapoo River and US Highway 61 on paved roads. There are public restrooms with showers a 5 minute drive from site in Soldiers Grove, where there is also an RV dump station.

The Hill is a private forested camp area that was originally made for a large group of friend's annual party. Spanning 4 acres on top, there is space for campers including 30 amp plug-ins, tents, and has buildings on-site for groups if needed. We also an add on of a simple rental glamper we call the Sugar Shack (listed as an Extra). The variety of trees, open space, and a group areas including fire pit, horseshoes/bags, and walking paths make the Hill a beloved getaway. The property is 125 acres, triangular in shape and bound by low-traffic township roads on two sides and by farmland at the back of the property.
We have valleys with three ridges, total elevation is about 300 feet from low point to high point. We have two springs on the property that are the source for a small unnamed creek that feeds into Trout Creek and then the Kickapoo River.
The property has walking paths in the grassy pasture areas in the valley (partially mowed), unmowed trails up and down the hillsides and on the ridges, and a high bluff overlook.
We are between the towns of Soldiers Grove and Readstown, 2 miles from the Kickapoo River and US Highway 61 on paved roads. There are public restrooms with showers a 5 minute drive from site in Soldiers Grove, where there is also an RV dump station.

Our recent stay at Kriss and Shannon’s amazing farm was one of the most unique and memorable camping experiences we’ve ever had. They’ve done an incredible job creating a welcoming, and interesting farm environment, that feels both relaxing and inspiring. The camping options offered us as much privacy as we wanted, but more often we found ourselves happily spending time with our hosts—learning about the area, their farm operations, and their involvement in conservation and education programs.
We were lucking to have had the pleasure of meeting their son, Eli, over coffee and muffins on the porch. He helped us map out a perfect day trip to Monroe and New Glarus, along with a short but awesome hike at Yellowstone Lake.
Such an interesting and memorable stay. We will absolutely be back.

This was one of the best campsites I’ve ever been to! I can’t recommend this place enough. Extremely peaceful and quiet with great views, sheep, and some of the nicest cats and dogs ever. Extremely clean and high quality bathroom and shower! Coffee and baked goods in the morning was one of the best parts. Will definitely be coming back!

My fiancé and I had the best time! Kriss and Shannon are the nicest hosts and have created the most beautiful and relaxing property imaginable. Even on a cold October evening we were super cozy in our camper van. The sauna is a must, as are the delicious baked treats Kriss makes from scratch every morning. There is no kitchen so you can’t cook, but there is a fridge if you wanna bring cold food. All the animals; the sheep, the chickens, the dogs, and especially the adorable cats, are so sweet and approachable. We’re already planning our next visit!

Such an adorable cozy and lovely area! The accommodations were nice and everything was well kept and clean and organized, lovely hosts as well! Would totally come back for sure during spring or summer season, came during harsh rain and wasn’t able fully explore and stay on site but was still such a nice experience! Beautiful, secluded campsite with a babbling brook running through!! The region is gorgeous in the fall. The outhouse was clean and well kept. Tai + Stella’s visitor guide and map were very informative and easy to follow. Logan brought us firewood and allowed us to enjoy the area in peace. Highly recommend if you’re looking for an escape out in nature.

The site is beautiful in Autumn and very quiet except for occasional traffic. Bill was very friendly and clearly shows pride in his ancestral land. He has hand crafted a beautiful building as a replica of a lodge in Yellowstone. The entire area in that part of Wisconsin is visually outstanding.

This is such a lovely campsite! Nestled into a picturesque Driftless valley, right by a small crystal creek. Suzie was a great host. It was really easy to find the site, there is even a clear "Welcome HipCamp" sign at the turn, which is a rarity and super helpful when we arrived in the dark. The outhouse was very new and clean. We enjoyed exploring the property with it's maze of trails. Just a short drive from Viroqua. Would love to stay again!

We really enjoyed our weekend here! We were close to Middleton, we enjoyed seeing the animals frequently on the farm, and the hosts were great communicators and very welcoming! There was a bit of walking (maybe 1/4 mile?) between the parking area and the camp site, which made setting up a bit difficult, but not terrible. Our site was private and spacious. There was definitely traffic noise, which we didn't mind and at night was like a white noise machine. The only bathroom was an outhouse, which my 10 year old struggled with, but that builds character right? :D
