Enjoy a stay at our rustic log cabins nestled 1/2 mile back from our residence in the peaceful woods of our family's 160-acre 5th generation farm. Summertime here is filled with long days of daylight to participate in various activities, or just hang out in the hammock. The warm evenings bring out fire flies, owls hooting, and stargazing while sitting around the campfire. The fall is a very special time of year here with the maples and oaks changing colors. There are two log cabins, one of which doubles as a place to cook maple syrup in the spring, a pavilion, and an odor-free "outhouse". We will only rent to one group at a time, you'll just have to choose which cabin site(s) you want. The group limit is 9 people. Hike the trails meandering through our woods, sit around the large campfire, take a relaxing nap in the hammock, watch sunset down one of the trails, or the many activities of hiking and mountain/fat tire biking groomed trails at nearby Levis/Trow Mound (our favorite), fishing, kayaking, horse trail rides, and The Highground Veterans Memorial Park (a must-see) is a mile up the road. The pavilion has a large log picnic table, Blackstone griddle, a charcoal grill, and refrigerator/freezer. The pavilion and Sugar Shack cabin have solar power. The Sugar Shack has a small gas stove and oven. The Cozy Cabin does not have solar power yet. All rentals include use of the pavilion and "outhouse". New in 2026 - outdoor shower with heated water. There is no WiFi but good cell phone service. Bedding is furnished for cabin stays. Wood and charcoal are furnished. Extra lawn chairs available. We have cornhole available and other yard games for use. All you really need to bring is food, beverages, towels & favorite book or game. We welcome your furry friends, but no more than 2 dogs. There is a $25 pet cleaning fee under extras. This $25 fee covers 2 dogs. We politely request no children under 7 in cabins, and then all children over 7 supervised at all times while in cabins. 2 night minimum; 3 night minimum on holiday weekends such as Memorial Day and Labor Day weekend, and 4th of July if it lands on a Friday or Monday. Neillsville is located just 2 hours from St. Paul, MN; 2 1/2 hours from Madison; 2 1/2 hours from Green Bay.

I'm located between Wisconsin Dells and Lyndon Station on a cozy little 3-acre corner lot at the intersection of Highway 12 and Oak Glen Circle. The property is mostly wooded with beautiful white oak trees that I've done my best to preserve. It's spacious and features several small hiking trails that wind throughout the property. Each year, I welcome nesting bluebirds, robins, and ruby-throated hummingbirds. You'll also find several bird feeders that attract a wide variety of birds, along with squirrels, rabbits, and woodchucks that call the property home. Please note: I do have neighboring homes nearby, but it's a very quiet neighborhood of homeowners with no noisy renters. Nearby Attractions Wisconsin Dells – Just 3 miles away, offering endless attractions, restaurants, shopping, and entertainment. River Bay – Only 2 miles away, with Wisconsin River access and a public boat launch. Bring your boat and experience one of the best stretches of the Wisconsin River. The fishing is excellent, too. Dells Motor Speedway – Just 1 mile away. Races are held every Saturday night, and the speedway has a long history of racing tradition. Weekend Trip to Blue Loon River House

If you love the camping experience but need modern amenities and running water. This is the perfect spot!! It’s right on the river where you can launch your kayak, fish, and just enjoy your morning coffee. Andrew, the host, was very hospitable and accommodating with all my questions as I am a novice camper. The location was an added bonus. Just minutes from restaurants and shops. It was overall an amazing experience. I’m already looking at dates when I can come back!

Weekend Trip to Rustic Log Cabin Retreat

We had a great weekend. The site was so beautiful, surrounded by trees and trails and nobody else on the site with us, so we felt like we were able to enjoy our time in seclusion, even though we weren't more than maybe half a mile from the hosts. The buildings were well crafted and comfortable. The only thing that we forgot to bring were towels (oops!) but other than that small mistake on our part, everything else that we needed was easily available. Weekend Trip to Echo Valley Farm

If you are looking for a quiet and peaceful place to ‘glamp’, look no further! Echo valley farm is made up of a handful of rustic cabins (no plumbing, but yes electricity) that offered my wife and I a nice place to cook a few meals, listen to the birds, have a fire, and rest our heads. The shared outdoor shower served us well after a day floating down the nearby Kickapoo River. Dena was a very accommodating host that made sure we had everything we needed. Being able to buy some cinnamon rolls from their bakery was the cherry on top. The overall vibe offers a nice mix of humble farmer, DIY, community dwelling energy that we greatly enjoyed. Bonus points for the library of books on homesteading, straw clay house construction, and poetry. We definitely plan to come back.

Weekend Trip to Rustic Log Cabin Retreat

We stayed 3 nights in one of these rustic cabins and had an amazing experience. Tucked behind the hosts’ farm, the cabins offer a peaceful, private getaway surrounded by nature. The hosts built everything themselves using materials from the property, which makes the cabins feel extra special and unique. The hosts were incredibly friendly and thoughtful, checking in before our stay and showing us how everything worked when we arrived. They also shared great local recommendations. The cabins are pet friendly too, allowing up to 2 dogs. This place is the perfect mix of rustic camping and cozy glamping, with hiking trails, beautiful scenery, a hammock, fire pit, solar lights, and even a welcome s’mores kit and a sample bottle of maple syrup they make. Everything you need is provided while still feeling like a true escape. Relaxing, beautiful, and unforgettable — we can’t wait to come back.

The farm was cool lots of freedom to explore if you want to or you can just chill in the camper. Great atmosphere, fun to pet the goats and the found kittens were adorable. Cool place to have a camp fire too.

2 nights at Echo Valley Farm

The trip to this beautiful cabin was like coming home. We only were there for three nights but this place will live in my heart forever. What a warm farm full of love this is. We were so grateful to have found the special place to unplug, touch the earth and listen to the multitudes of lucky birds that live in the orchard. We were treated to not one, but two rooster led chicken parades up to the cabin. Cannot recommend this place enough. The scones from the bakery were out of this world. 25 stars out of 5.

I had a great time at the hidden cabin site! It was nice to walk on the trails and see the other cabins. Nobody was there when I went, so I had privacy to meditate and relax without any noise. They said it was tick and mosquito treated. I saw 1 mosquito the entire weekend. I would recommend trying it out.

We had a wonderful stay at Echo Valley for a father–son getaway. The cabin was warm and cozy, and the wood-fired stove created the perfect atmosphere after a day exploring the Driftless hills. We played guitar, sketched in our notebooks, cooked good food, and enjoyed the quiet together. We especially appreciated the proprietors’ thoughtful focus on sustainability. A perfect rustic place to slow down and reconnect.
