Situated on 36 acres, this working farm is 2 miles West of Taylors Falls. Dan bought this property with the intention of growing stone fruits (plums, peaches, apricots and cherries) using sustainable and organic practices because health and wellness matter to them! They are still in the process of improving their property. Many of the building on the property were in poor condition, including the old barn foundation which is now one of Dan and Danielle favorite places to keep cool in the summer. After they had excavated all the debris (which took years) they were able to transform it with gardens and fire pit for all to enjoy. They love sharing what they have been blessed with! They hope you enjoy their place as much as they do! Feel free to ask them to show you around or even get your hands dirty with them as they plant or harvest.

Enjoy our back lot for a private campsite which borders a prairie preserve. Watch the deer come in the morning and evening and listen to our friendly, happy hens cluck away, not to mention all the beautiful song birds. We are happy to share our golf clubs and balls to hit a few into the field. Our kids love it! Tree coverage along with an open field. We cut the field to offer a walking trail to the prairie preserve. There is a tree surronded, very private tent site for tenters, but if you have a camper you can find a spot that works best for you! (The tent site is very private and a camper would not fit.) We are a short 10 min drive to Stillwater but there is so much to do in Somerset! Take a walk around the prairie preserve and kayak down the apple river, but don’t forget the local brewery and boutique shop. There is some great fishing on local lakes in the area as well. We offer a 30 amp electric hook up and our hose for water. We also have a shower tent with a camping porta potty.

Looking for a quiet, peaceful, romantic getaway? You found it! Sit by the campfire, relax in the hammock, watch the stars twinkle, and listen to the sounds of the night. The canvas tent is located at the back of our 200-acre organic, regenerative dairy farm. It's tucked among the pines and birch trees at the edge of a steep embankment overlooking Sweeny Creek. Our one-of-a-kind A-frame canvas tent was hand-built by us. Tie back the screened canvas window for a true close-to-nature experience. A queen-size mattress ensures a comfortable night's sleep (it's a real mattress, not an air mattress). Solar lights automatically turn on at dusk. We don't like spiders or mice any more than you do, and we do our best to keep them out. However, you're immersed in their natural habitat, so don't be surprised if you spot a few. Your private rustic outdoor toilet is located just a short walk from the tent (about 50 feet away). Soft solar twinkle lights, strung through the branches above, turn on automatically at dusk. Mosquitoes are typically minimal. We're here to make your stay as memorable and enjoyable as possible. If you need anything or have questions, just holler! We'll provide you with a map of the farm, and you're welcome to explore the deer trails, woods, and ravines. Please be respectful of the birch bark. :) The following items are provided at your campsite: • Soft linen duvet with a warm wool comforter • Pillows • Flannel sheets • Extra blankets • Dry firewood • Hatchet • Lighter • Kindling • Cooler with ice • Hamburger grate for the fire pit • Camp chairs • Toilet paper • Kettle for heating water • Roasting sticks • Paper towels • Towels and rags • Bug and tick repellent • One of our exclusive tick bite kits Included and available for pickup at the Farmhouse (a wagon is provided): • Bottled water • 10 gallons of potable water • Hand sanitizer • Dishes and silverware • Cast-iron griddle and frying pan • French press and coffee • Salt and pepper • Cutting board and knife • Cooking oil • Dish soap • A small basket of fresh organic eggs from our hens • Coffee cake • S'mores supplies Also included with your stay: • Unlimited Wi-Fi on the Farmhouse porch • Homemade ice cream at the Farmhouse and a farm tour—just let us know when you'd like to enjoy them!

We are a regenerative grass-fed, grass finished beef cattle and pasture raised pork farm in Hertel, WI. We also have chickens (and eggs!), goats, and horses. We raise Scottish Highland beef and Gloucester Old Spot hogs. Our passion is providing nutritious, humanely, and sustainably raised beef, pork and eggs to our local customers and their families. We are a mother-daughter team restoring our land back to healthy pasture land through the use of rotational grazing and healthy animal impact. Although we have been raising Scottish Highland cattle since 2016, we moved to our farm in Hertel, WI in 2020. We have since added perimeter and interior fencing, all-season water sources, and summer water lines in order to improve our rotational grazing practices. We are conveniently located between Siren and Spooner and not far from Superior and Hayward. We are also not far from ATV and snowmobile trails, St. Croix Casino and lots of good bars and restaurants. You will have amazing views of the land as you come up the 1/2 mile driveway to the farm house and from the farm house porch where you will be staying.

Peace, quiet and the great outdoors await at this sweet countryside retreat. The space is a charming refuge from the city and offers the opportunity to take a step back into the simple pleasures of nature. The space maintains most of it's original character, offering high ceilings, original hardwood floors, newly renovated bathroom, and picturesque views from a light-flooded room high in the countryside. The property sits on 1.5 acres, and has room for tent camping in the backyard for a small fee per additional guest. The kitchen is quaint, but fully stocked with cookware, utensils and a pantry of essentials to help you feel right at home. Wake up, grind your own local beans and savor the art of making a pour over coffee to enjoy on the front steps. The pantry is stocked with sea salt, pepper, some basic cooking herbs, local coffee beans, and herbal tea. There is a brand new open-concept bathing room featuring a restored clawfoot bathtub & pedestal sink, a private restroom nook, and complete with fresh towels, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. The linen and supplies used inside the home were selected to be easy on the environment and are free of harsh chemicals so those with sensitive skin can rest easy. The Hattie Shack at Peony Power

20. The Hattie Shack at Peony Power

44mi from Dallas · 1 site
Welcome to the Hattie Shack! My husband, Wayne, built it when our young daughter wanted to have sleepovers. It’s now a peaceful and idyllic slice of heaven for your personal retreat. Writers, artists, musicians, sojourners, and outdoor lovers are all welcome to enjoy this creative and colorful glamping experience. Our elevated shack is perfect for a one-person getaway, with views of fields, woods, and gardens. It’s just a short walk from your personal parking spot, with mowed paths and trails to explore in the woods. The space is accessible year-round—there’s AC for the warm months and heat for the colder seasons. Amenities include an outhouse, a BBQ grill with charcoal, a table, and a fire pit. A hammock and outdoor gear are also available. Our friendly dogs, Wally and Sunny, will likely greet you—they roam freely. And then there’s Bobby Sue - our rescued tomcat who thinks he is a dog. He is very curious and will undoubtedly come to visit. If you bring a pet, we ask that it remain leashed, as we have chickens on the property. We’re a short drive from Class 1 trout streams, including the Kinnickinnic and Rush River. If you prefer to stay on the farm, the shack features a writing desk and an outdoor porch table—perfect for when inspiration strikes. There is no Wi-Fi, but there is an AT&T tower nearby for data connection. Verizon, T-Mobile, and Sprint users may have limited service. A small fridge, French press, hot plate, fresh water, and basic utensils are available. Peony Power Farm is my new business, where I am in the process of planting and cultivating peonies for the cut flower market. The plants take 3 years to mature for cutting, but once in bloom, the Hattie Shack will offer a beautiful view of the peony fields. In the meantime, Wayne and I plant huge vegetable and flower gardens. The abundance is amazing and we love to share the beauty. Please join us in this little slice of paradise.
