We offer 2 unique rentals located just minutes from Seneca Rocks, WV. The Renovated Barn is an actual barn, located on a little farm, complete with farm animals! Our property was a small family farm for several generations. Our family purchased the property about 18 years ago. Since we are not farmers but love living here, the question became "What would be the best use for the land?" Living in a scenic area and already being in the vacation rental business on some other family property answered the question. We decided to share the beautiful view and seclusion of our area with others.
Our goal was to keep the cost of building down so that we could pass on the savings to you so that you would not have to be rich to enjoy our lovely area. This inspired the idea of a glamping cabin. The cabin is actually a repurposed office building that was built about the time this property was purchased by our family. We moved it to the present location and completely remodelled it in 2018 and added the bathroom. For 4 years, guests enjoyed an off-the-grid experience.
In 2023, when we began work on the glamping dome (stay tuned--coming soon!!), we decided to add electricity, running water, and a hot tub to the tiny house!
We hope you enjoy the cabin (and, soon, the dome) and the stunning view from them as much as we enjoy sharing this beautiful spot with you!
Note: The Charming Glamping Cabin is at a totally different property. That property also has a section that used to be farmed. Now a lot of it is forest. We purchased the property around 2000. This cabin was built approx. 10 years later. At that point, the cabin was a tiny economy cabin with a sofa bed. However, it seemed most folks preferred comfort over economy, so in 2020, we added a bump-out to the side of the cabin so there would be room for a queen bed. Guests have loved the improvement. (:

If you would like to fish, Camp Cedar Creek allows fly fishing/catch and release only, and only three (3) fly fisherman per day to ensure a secluded, enjoyable, experience, so if you wish to book to fly fish, please do so early, as spots are limited and book up quickly. Fly fisherman will quietly walk the banks and creek as they fish, and campers are requested to allow a fly fisherman to pass through without disturbance as they quietly move through your site to fish beautiful Cedar Creek. Watching them fish, catch and release beautiful rainbow and brook trout can be a relaxing, enjoyable experience.
The oral history of Coal Mine Hollow has it that a moonshine still once graced the banks of Camp Cedar Creek. It was run by a recluse, who was always on the move from the Revenuers. A revenuer went missing along Cedar Creek one moonlit night, never to be seen again.
The bearded recluse who ran the still, owned two mules, and an old car frame without a motor. Those mules would pull him through the hollow, and up into the mountains, where the revenuers never found him. Some say on a cold, moonlit night, they’ve seen his two old mules, pulling an old car frame past Camp Cedar Creek.

My wife and I usually will book a more traveled and popular campground but decided to try this spot out for a weekend. It was wonderful, and everything we wanted in a semi private space. We had site 4 which was awesome! Water from the creek close by, woods surrounding us, and a nice big campsite to put our tent, canopy, and the rest of our stuff. Only saw a few people fishing and a couple families walked by renting the other sites.

This was my second visit at this site, visiting with a friend a few years back. We have talked about it ever since! The creek is the perfect depth to sit in and read a book.
