The property is very secluded, but only 2 hrs from D. C. and Baltimore. The space can accommodate 5 tents comfortably or a few small campers (w/o hookups). Please note- I only book one group at a time. You'll have plenty of privacy! Spend your day bird watching on the river deck, put up your hammock and chill, go hiking or mountain biking at Cacapon State Park, take the kayaks out and paddle around, go fishing, or take a float trip. I can provide info on put in/take out spots depending on how long you'd like to float. I have 3 kayaks available for your use, or BYO if you'd like to venture further outside of the property lines. There is one big fire ring for cooking and/or bonfires, along with a large stationary stand up charcoal camp grill. There is also a small communal shed down at camp that contains extra camping supplies, etc.. feel free to use use and put back and or/ contribute to it! :) This spot is close by to Berkeley Springs, Paw Paw Tunnel, Cacapon State Park, and other nature preserves. More hiking, biking, restaurants, spas, antiquing- all within a beautiful 20 minute drive if you wish to venture out. There is a cabin on the property. I will more often be home than not, I will communicate with you about that around your stay. Sometimes I"ll come down to the river frontage if I drop in for a float .Also, we all get around on four wheelers and UTV's. So you will hear them from time to time. If I am home, please feel free to come up if you have any concerns/questions or to say hi! :) *Please note, you can normally get to this site without a 4 wheel drive vehicle. However, when the river is high it will sometimes flood the low water bridge where it crosses the Cacapon. If this is the case during your stay, I will provide all necessary information regarding projected river levels and directions. I will also offer a full refund if the bridge is impassable. (Our Cosmic Cottage is also rustic, despite the amenities that come with it). - CAMPSITES and TREEHOUSE - No electricity or wifi on the land. Campsites and TREEHOUSE are nestled in the woods. So although your vehicle will be parked within 50 ft or so from site, you cannot pull directly up to the site and get any closer because of the trees. - SHOWER and PORTA POTTY - roughly a 5 minute or less walk from sites to shower and / or porta potty. Shower hours are 8 am- to 8 pm. The shower has hot and cold running water . You can drive to the shower if you need to. - RESPONSE TIME - This is a working herb farm/ sanctuary and we so do not always have our phones on us. We will make every effort to respond to you within a few hours. My fiance and I (along with our two dogs) booked the Yurt for our of stay while we explored the beautiful mountains of WV after a fresh coat of snow. We had booked our stay during the middle of a significant winter storm and delayed our drive. We messages Shawn and Catherine and they were very quick to respond back to us while we figured out our travel plans. They even started the pellet stove so that we could get some much needed warmth in the well-beyond zero temperatures outside. Our Yurt was very well maintained and came with all the necessities for our stay. We enjoyed the Roku TV they have set up so you can cozy up in bed or on the pull-out futon. We also got to have the experience of going out to our hot tub while the wind chill was in the negatives! Check out was very easy and Shawn and Catherine gave use plenty of instruction for our check in and check out. Overall, I think this may have been one of our best “camping” experiences. This was our first time staying in a Yurt as we typically stay in a dome. The pellet stove was an absolute necessity and we had more than enough fuel to fight the cold. Weekend Trip to Abrams Creek Campground/Retreat

This is my second time at Abrams creek in two years. The amenities have improved over the last two years.Michael and Sara are super hosts and would love to return back when I can. Cozy cabin and ample space around the campfire to rest and relax. Michael is super informative about the amenities. Both of them greeted us with warm smile.Creek is accessible to all the cabins and the whole campgrounds seemed like winter wonderland.

We really enjoyed our stay with Revelle’s campground! The yurt was everything we needed for a weekend get away. The accommodations were cozy and enjoyable after a cold, snowy hike on a near by trail.

1 night at Brooklyn Heights Riverfront Camp

If I could give 100 stars I would. This location is on a dead end Street on a beautiful river. They have many acres and it will look like you are going to nowhere but you are going somewhere Awesome! I went in early January, snow on the ground when I arrived..I was in a very low car and still arrived safely. The roads were clean, even if narrow, which is to be expected in the area. Mountain roads are a great experience! I was staying just one night on a trip that I wish I had more time to stay here on! The campground itself is described as primitive maybe because of the amenities, but I had close to everything needed and was advised to bring stuff that wasn’t provided. So I was good to go. I booked the heated and electric supplied tiny cabin specifically because I knew I would be traveling in January and needed to recharge. The temperature overnight was I think in the 40s, my little heater ran all night long. I had blankets and I was comfortable. At one point I was actually hot. A overnight rainstorm washed away most of the snow and any threat of ice and then the next morning was absolutely stunning! Fire Island and the river access and the buses and the teepee look like something I want to do in the spring or summer! The coffee hut was open 24 seven and the firewood was plentiful. I had the entire place almost to myself with the exception of the “staff/owner”. But I was completely able to self check in and stay independently. Vince checked in but it’s very well marked.

The hosts were warm and welcoming, but also gave me the space I needed for my own private retreat. The cabin was cozy, warm, and comfortable. It was a lovely setting with plenty of options for hiking about half an hour away in different directions.

1 night at Smith Ridge Harper's Ferry

The cabin was very well heated for hours in 30 degree and below weather. Well stocked with supplies, and Matt was helpful in providing freshly chopped firewood, lighter, and a grill! A big supply of drinking water and coffee. Had a great time having a bonfire the whole night. Porta potty was pretty decent too. Matt seemed like a cool host in general, and gave us great suggestions for hiking! Would recommend to anyone and I would probably hang out with him if he invited us.

Awesome little place even if it's snowing. Snow on the ground and the little rocket stove was great because we had no heat in the vehicle! Beautiful stream and the bathroom facilities are always a bonus even if outdoors. Everything was clean and inviting. The host was very responsive and had lots of ready to burn wood for sale.

3 nights at Riverdale Farm

We had an incredible stay during our family trip. We originally booked for two nights but ended up extending another day because we didn’t want to leave. We came as a family of four with two little kids, and this place exceeded all our expectations. The property is beautiful with incredible views and great amenities, you really don’t need to leave. Our kids especially loved the arcade, the pumpkin carving, and the zip line. The tiny home was spotless, well kept, and the welcome basket with snacks, wine, and s’mores kit was such a nice touch. We had the pleasure of the owners who were warm and hospitable. Their recommendation to visit the Farmers Daughter shop was spot-on, the burgers, sausages, and steak were fantastic. Quiet, relaxing, and perfect for families or couples. We’re already planning our next trip. Highly recommend, 5 stars!
