Despite the existence of year round residences and cabins this area is still very wild so you have a chance of an encounter with any critter that is native to the forests and prairies of North Central Washington. This includes but is not limited to the occasional bull snake, rattle snake, badger, black bear, mule deer, whitetail deer, moose, coyote, wolf, mountain lion, bobcat, as well as all kinds of birds including blue birds, hawks, owls, turkey, chukar, ravens, Hungarian partridge, quail, and forest grouse. Big campsite with great views and lots of tables and fire pits. I was under the impression it was just a big field that was a free for all, but it was in fact an actual campground with all the things you need. We camped here for a night after all the first come first serve campsites near Maple Loop Trail were taken up. It was about 45 min away. Christine’s land was perfect for a quiet getaway. It is on a farm, so you do hear animals from a far distance. It was not annoying whatsoever. Plenty of room for larger tents or even multiple tents. The river access was really nice for sitting next to with a cocktail or early morning coffee. The toilet is a little bit of a walk, but I always bring my own.

Great location with stunning views. It's definitely up there, and the road initially feels a little sketchy, but don't let that scare you. I was easily able to tow a 30ft trailer up no problem, and Chris came right out to assist and asked if I needed anything! Being so high, be prepared for wind, but if you get a night with no wind, the sunset views are amazing! I would definitely stay at these sites again!

We enjoyed our 2 nights at the land! It was private and a great location for exploring North Cascades NP and the surrounding towns of Mazama and Winthrop. If you stay here be sure to visit the Mazama store and get a sandwich (breakfast or lunch only) and some homemade ice cream! The camping land has a stream on one side of it, unfortunately it was dry when we stayed there. We were hoping to set up some chairs and enjoy the cool water on a hot afternoon, but we wandered into the town of Winthrop instead. What a delight! It was like stepping into the Wild West. Highly recommend! The land does have power and water. Also a couple picnic tables and other tables for cooking, eating, etc. And a very clean portable-potty! (Confirm this with the host, I don’t think it’s there year round) Overall would recommend!

Beautiful site! Tracy is so kind. She checked on us daily to see if we needed anything. The tent site is beautiful, soft, and sheltered. The river is absolutely magical. The stars are unmatched. And her dog is just the best. 10/10 spot :)

Spend 4 days and 3 nights at Swiftwater. Tracy is an amazing host. She is very friendly and at the same time not intrusive at all. The Riverside beach is great and provided plenty of shade and sand for the kids to have a great time. The camp is conveniently located near Lake Entiat, Leavenworth, Wenatchee, and Chelan. I cannot recommend this site enough.
