Dishonest, terrible communication
- Booked a 3-night stay at a Hipcamp site based on their information stating "no generator" and no campfires in the field area.
- Prior to arriving, we received reminders that generators and campfires were not allowed.
- Arrived on July 7th with a 2024 29-foot Rockwood travel trailer, equipped with 2 Maxx air fans, 2 solar panels, and blackout shades.
- At check-in, we were verbally informed that campfires were allowed but generators were not.
- Directed to fill our water tank at site 37, causing a blockage for other vehicles due to the layout.
- The water we filled up with was brown, necessitating a 20-minute drive to the nearest store for bottled water.
- The field area had over 30 vehicles, but we found an unlevel spot due to the large space.
- The temperature exceeded 100 degrees.
- Other campers were using generators despite the initial no-generator rule.
- The waterfront area was dominated by a rental section for ski-doos and other gasoline-powered rentals, which was twice the size of the swim beach. Gasoline smells permeated the area.
- The swim beach was lined with tents and had at least twice as many guests as it could support.
- Left after one night due to the conditions.
- Contacted Heidi, who confirmed that generators were allowed in the field and acknowledged the brown water was safe to drink. She mentioned they tell guests no generators and no campfires to ensure guests are pleased upon arrival when finding these are allowed.
