The property, aptly named the Oasis years ago, is 34-acres of lawns, shade trees, ponds, and natural landscaping over 50 years in the making. The landscaping was started by Tom who still lives in the farmhouse. The Schierman family has owned this property for four generations. The Oasis is located in the rolling hills of the Palouse in eastern Washington State.
The newly created Yonder Hills Disc Golf Course is a full 18 and 9-basket short course with long and short pads for almost every basket. A mix of open lawn, wooded fairways, water hazards, and elevation changes await. Day, overnight or weekly reservations must be made to enjoy this private course.
The disc golf course is under construction with some layout changes and getting ready for paver tees instead of rubber. It's playable but it isn't perfect yet. We had to shift focus to the barn restoration grant to meet the June 2026 deadline, so fair warning, there is likely to be some construction ongoing.
This is a perfect basecamp to relax and unwind or be creative. Read in the lawn. Cook over the fire. Explore the Palouse. Disc golf anytime.
Guests may bring their own private fire pits. Firewood is provided for the community fire pit.
Yonder Hills can be reserved for larger group camps and private camping events. There is plenty of room for several vehicles and tailgate camping.
Please contact us to request a reservation for a reunion, wedding, private party, disc golf tournament, or concert.
There are no dedicated electrical hookups, sewage hookups, or potable water available at this time. Bottled or bulk water is available in in St. John five miles away. Electrical outlets can be used to charge small devices.
We are constantly upgrading the property, so look forward to better amenities as we grow.
St. John has a bar/restaurant, grocery store, hardware stores, gas station, 2 hotel rooms, library, coffee and gift shops as well as a very nice 9-hole traditional golf course. There are numerous small towns, unique lakes, rivers/creeks, backroads, viewpoints, and historic stops around the Palouse region as well as amazing photography year round. Come for the abundant stars, the fall colors and brisk air, to socialize with other travelers, or to find the peace of the Palouse country.

Owned the last 100 years by only two families. The Weber family was the last to own and operate the farm for over 60 years. House was built in 1917 and the barn was added in 1925. Legend has it Bing Crosby sang in the barn himself after a long summer bucking bales in Cheney.
We are close to Turnbull Wildlife Park and a few local fishing lakes: badger lake, williams lake, and amber lake. The town of Cheney is a great place to stock up and bicycle the fish lake trail.

The views and sunsets are amazing, and it's very quiet for being so close to town. We are a family of four with a dog, barn cats, and free range chickens. We enjoy providing a convenient and tidy location for travelers to stay, and can provide as much assistance as needed while giving you as much privacy as possible. It is 4 minute drive to the UofI campus and 17 minutes to the WSU campus from the site.

Beautiful view over the lake. Tons of birds and a very lovely camp host. The train rolls through every now and then, but we enjoyed being able to watch it go by. We had a lake tent site. It was a little windy but no problem in our camper van.

Less than 5 minutes out of Moscow, out in rolling wheat fields. Host gave easy directions. Full hookup site under nice shade trees. Quiet and relaxing, which was much needed after vet appts. A 20 minute drive to WSU vet hospital, that was our reason for being there. Friendly and helpful hosts. Would love to stay again when we are in the area again.

We were there first weekend in May. Incredible weather. Nicholas has a great set up. Easy back in for our 25’ trailer with a 4’ bike rack attached on the back. Clean quiet setting on gravel farm road. Less than a mile from 95. FANTASTIC gravel riding right out the door. Hiking at Moscow Mountain 15 minutes - dogs were off leash. 10-15 minutes to university area. Highly recommend. Thanks Nicholas!!!!

As a, Van life traveler this was the most perfect campsite situations I could think of. I mean, if I owned a home with an extra plot next door, I would do the same thing! This was perfect for our van and so easy. It was quiet, peaceful, and highly recommend it to anybody passing through!

I really enjoyed my stay at Shelley’s property. I booked the stay with the intention of scouting turkey hunting spots in the nearby area. Shelley and her young children were very pleasant. I ordered up the French press and pastry option (highly recommended). This is a perfect mix of farm style pace while still enjoying modern amenities such as hot shower and bathroom. I would rate my stay 5 out 5 stars.

This is a small(by MT standards) working cattle ranch that also keeps some chickens. Be prepared to be surrounded by curious cows and awakened by the rooster. We also had a bull expressing its frustration at not being allowed in to service the cows(yet). Views are beautiful. Site was easier to level RV at than looked like it would be- not an issue at all. . Feet of you and your pets get muddy in the wet sawdust and hay. That are more prevalent than green grass in boondock area, at least in mid April. We have a Keystone Cougar 25 FKD travel trailer and a 1 ton Denali. We wouldn’t advise anything much bigger going down the curved driveway to the boondocks sites, but the full hook up sites are on pavement, level and do not involve any curved road. On the plus side there is an extraordinarily friendly cat, cute week old calves, and whole place reminded us of where we lived for 20 years before moving into town. Our corgi enjoyed the cat and the cows even though we were careful to not allow him under any fences. Barbara was friendly and communicated quickly and pleasantly. There is good potable water easily available. We didn’t try the farm fresh eggs because 2 different people at home had brought us some in exchange for extra strawberry plants I was giving away. There are only 2 of us and we don’t eat as much as we used to now that we are 75 and 81 years old. We were only boondockers there April 20.

Angela was a great host! We felt very welcome and enjoyed our stay. The view, watching the chickens in the morning, and close trails nearby was the perfect easy getaway. We have two large dogs and the 4 of us fit perfectly in the tent.

Great stay! The spot is lovely and has a great view with full hookups. Close to town, only about a five minute drive to the grocery store/town area. It was pretty windy and rainy when we visited but we were here to see family so not a huge deal. Will stay here again when we’re back in town!

Cute place! Adam was great. We loved the trees and how quiet it is at night. A few minutes drive to fish lake as Adam suggested and walked along part of the walking path. Angie and crew exceeded expectations as our Hipcamp hosts! Everything was so lovely but their hospitality really added to our experience. The farm is wonderful and the tent/deck was a magical little space of our own. Really felt at home here! It’s a great place to relax and unwind for sure. Lots of thought and hard work has gone into this space. My daughter loved feeding the chickens. And, who doesn’t love farm fresh eggs! Breakfast was magnificent as well.
