Hello friends! We are a small organic family farm enjoying life in the woods. We have 25 acres of pasture and forest for you to enjoy. Rv hookup has water and power in the pasture. There is a fire pit with wood for you upon arrival. It is just a short two minute walk to our goats, chickens and turkeys. Collect some farm fresh eggs from the coop for breakfast or go forage some mushrooms in the backyard forest. There is tons of wildlife on the farm and you may even wake to some deer out your camper window, as they love to bed down in the pasture at night. If you are here for the outdoor activities, our location is right in the middle of Coeur d'Alene and Sandpoint. We are a 10 minute drive to Farragut State Park and Bayview. About 15 min to Round Lake State Park and Lake Cocolalla. Enjoy fishing, hiking and biking at all of these beautiful places. We have fishing poles, paddle boards and kayaks for rent if that is something you are interested in let us know. We love to share this dream we are living so come enjoy a night on the farm :)

This is a very private and quiet place, more of a sanctuary and not a party place. The only thing you hear is nature, a breeze through the pine trees, the birds, and the creek.
This property was and is an organic permaculture farm in the forest. There are two orchards and an organic garden. The water is from a spring. The La Luna cabin is no longer off grid, but if the power does go out, it's a great place to be.. Hot Showers at my cabins are private and outdoors. There's nothing more wonderful than a hot spring-fed shower. The toilets are composting. (No water is wasted here)!
Two of the cabins were built from the trees on the property by the first family that lived here in the earlier 1900s. The Birds Nest cabin was originally a tool shed that needed a LOT of Love to be in the condition that it is today. It does have power, running water and wi-fi.
There is the option to take an acrylic painting class, banjo, guitar or fiddle lessons, paddleboard lessons, and have a real old-timey campfire with a glass of wine or two with live music performed by our famous Fiddlin Red on the fiddle, banjo, and guitar. Your experience here may change your life forever!

It's four miles up a county-maintained dirt road and one mile to a non-motorized lake.
I can't see my neighbors, but they are awesome artists and musicians and some of them are off the grid!
If you're bringing a pet, they must be on a leash and be quiet pets. If you are bringing a child they also need to be quiet and respectful. I want to keep my neighbors and my other guests happy with a peaceful atmosphere. Thank you!

Our first trip out in our trailer and it was perfect. Such a nice shaded, clean, level spot with everything you could need.
So close to Farragut State Park for a day in nature, but also close to a grocery store for the things I inevitably forgot.

Absolutely perfect long weekend at the Mad Moose! From the warm friendly conversations with our amazing hosts, Ron & Vicki to our great spot (B) with a fantastic view for watching stars and wildlife! Very relaxing area for reading and just chillin. Farragut State Park is just a short drive, great afternoon exploring the museum and park. The search is over! This is the ideal spot!
Ron and Vicki were so kind, helpful and easy to communicate with.
They met us as we arrived and even shared some of their homegrown garlic with us!
This was our first experience using Hip Camp and I can’t imagine it getting any better than this.
The location was easy access to Farragut State Park, Sandpoint, Coeur d’Alene and other smaller towns in the area.
The campsite was spotless and extremely quiet and peaceful.
There was even a porta potty nearby with a hand wash station.
If you are in the area, I highly recommend booking your stay here and even adding on a couple days just to enjoy the peace of the campsite. Thank you again Ron and Vicki for providing such an amazing place!

We booked site B and our friends booked site A. There are no other sites on their 20 acre property so it felt like our own private campground. Ron and Vicki were welcoming and friendly and greeted us when we arrived to check us in and go over the campground rules.
This is a lovely property, close to Sandpoint, Lake Pend Oreille (Farragut SP), and hiking. We rented a pontoon boat in Bayview which is a great way to see the lake. There is a very clean outhouse with sink in it next to the camp sites for those who may not have bathroom facilities in their RV or who are tenting. Each site has its own picnic table as well.
We would definitely stay here again. Thank you Ron and Vicki!

A quiet getaway for our family. The stars were amazing at night. Our tent was surrounded by nature's beauty with wildflowers and greenery everywhere. A quick trip to Sand Point was easy and convenient for a short exploratory afternoon away. Lori was very friendly and gave a quick tour upon arrival.

This is a fantastic site. The sites are large and level. It has a super clean porta-potty if you need. The hosts are incredibly friendly. This is a great location that is super convenient for Silverwood, CD’A, Sandpoint, and Farragut State Park. I highly recommend this site.

This spot is a gem. Ron and Vicky have put a lot of work into a shaded, level full hook up camping heaven. Spots are well shaded, with minimal bugs, and very quiet. Very close to Lake Pend Oreille and farragut state park. We watched wild Turkeys roost in a tree next to camp and deer graze behind our trailers. Good hiking in the area as well as miles of excellent bike paths. This was our third visit and there will be more.

Oh my gosh! If you can you should absolutely stay here! We had such a nice time. Easily accessible, full hookups, easy to back our 28’ trailer into, quiet, and clean! We booked this site because we wanted to use Farragut’s facilities but couldn’t get in. Honestly, it’s so close and so much quieter I didn’t mind paying the $14 out of state day pass fees each day. We had our dog with us and since he was not allowed at Beaver Bay we utilized Willow Day Use area and beach to kayak and swim. (We launched from Eagle launch and paddled all the stuff for the day over). Ron and Vicki were so welcoming and Vicki even gave us some Bok Choy from her garden. Very kind people and we can’t wait to stay again!

Ron and Vicki's Mad Moose Ranch was perfect for us. The sites are very flat, nicely maintained and situated away from their home, allowing for privacy for both campers and for Ron and Vicki. The port-a-john is very nice, with a sink, and super clean. The location is perfect for day trips to CDA and Sandpoint. We were visited by deer, rabbits and turkeys during our stay, and Ron said we missed the Elk come thru while we were out for the evening. The 2 sites are immediately next to one another, perfect if you have a group with 2 RV's and book them both but could be awkward if the sites are booked separately and the other party has different camping habits. There was no one in site A when we stayed, so we didn't have this situation. Overall, we would highly recommend it and will stay again if our travels take us back to the area.
