Cute little wood cabin on a large, quiet lot, with covered porch looking out towards the water near the end of Cole's Point. Gravity fed fresh water at the sink on the porch. Inside, includes couch, queen bed, twin bed, fridge with chilled water, freezer, microwave. Nicely heated in winter and stays cool in summer. Sitting in comfy camp chairs on the covered porch can be magical during a spring rain. Outhouse with nightlight and composting toilet. Firepit with kindling and firewood in winter. (Summer fires are not allowed.) Short walk to the beach to the north. Short walk south to the edge of the Oro Bay as well. Kayaks can be rented on island. (Not related to the host.) Multiple hikes / walks within Jacob's Point, Andy's Marine Park, and 7 other parks on island. One wonderful little grocery store on island for fresh or incidental items along with one cafe, and one restaurant. The historic Johnson Farm and Museum can be a great place to sample island life from 100+ years ago. Pay extra for use of the twin electric bikes to ride the many quiet, scenic roads around the island. These roads can take you to the hikes, the store, cafe, or sample the sights like the 1928 ferry "Ocean City" slowly sinking into the mud in Oro Bay. There is often deer, hawks, eagles, coyotes, bunnies, and sometimes humpback or orca whales, all within sight of the cabin. It's a great place to escape the hectic pace of the city and enjoy the solitude interrupted only by the sound of the birds, and perhaps the distant trains about 3 miles away. Writer looking for a spot to focus on your next book? Reader wanting to finish a good book? Both are a perfect fit. Dogs are welcome but cannot run free due to the native animals that call the area home. The ferry is a 1 hour walk so cars are recommended. The Steilacoom ferry to Anderson Island leaves from the wonderful historic town of Steilacoom which is also well worth visiting. There is no smoking of any kind in the cabin or on the property. Also, “Ms Pacman's Backyard Glampsite” is a converted shed, so be ready for some lower ceilings and narrow spaces. The lofted full bed is cozy, so don’t bob your head on the way out! The bed has a six inch memory foam mattress with extra blankets and pillows available. Everything is washed with free and clear laundry detergent for any sensitivities. We provide a small refrigerator, a 2 burner stove with pots and pans for light cooking, coffee making supplies (reusable keurig pods or pour over coffee along with creamers and sugars), wine openers, dishes, and more. We have 2 tables where you can enjoy meals and games either indoors or outdoors. You will be one block away from Highland Park which has a tennis court and baseball field. Less than a mile north, you can explore the West Duwamish Greenbelt Trails. Only two blocks south of the property is Westcrest Park that hosts a community garden, a dog park, and small trails in their greenbelt. You’re also walking distance to downtown White Center, which has a microbrewery, a roller skating rink, a gay bar, a plant store, and plenty of coffee shops and restaurants.

The highlight of the cabin is the log bridge across the creek! You will feel like you are on an amazing hiking trail or in a fairytale on the rainforest-like grounds with a babbling brook or rushing creek running through it depending on how much rain we have had. Our property is directly across the street from access to the national forest service roads with miles of roads and trails. PLEASE NOTE BEFORE BOOKING: The cabin is older and rustic, and we are renovating it over time. There is a very steep/narrow staircase that excesses the second floor, and the twin bed artea is part of the lofty and is not an enclosed bedroom. The living space and kitchen are open concept, and there is seating for 4 at the dining room table and 2 countertop barstools as well. The adorable farmhouse style kitchen has everything you need to cook meals during your stay, including all cooking essentials and basic spices. We also have pancake mix and quick oats for our guests in case you forgot to bring your own breakfast. If you are lucky enough to stay in late summer, you can walk across the street to pick wild blackberries. The living room has a large TV and a nice selection of DVDs to choose from. We also have Starlink for both internet and streaming services. Cell service can be hit or miss depending on provider. The bathroom is on the lower level, as well as the first bedroom which has a queen bed. The 2nd bedroom opens up with a barn door and also has a queen bed as well as beautiful views of the creek and trees. For this reason it is my favorite bedroom! At the bottom of the stairs is the mud room which is a an enclosed patio and is a great place to store recreational equipment or wet/muddy items. It also allows excess to one of the decks which features outdoor seating and a bbq.

Weekend Trip to Cole's Cabin on Anderson Island

Fred’s cabin is magical! My partner and I live in the busy city and it was so healing and fun to spend time quality time at the cabin with our two dogs. The cabin truly has everything you need and it’s very cute and cozy. We spent a lot of time down at the private beach as well and never even saw another person. We will definitely be making a trip back to stay at the cabin.

Gorgeous, super cozy little treehouse! The host, Mokey, was so kind and welcoming. Absolutely recommend the wood fire hot tub experience. We loved our stay and will be coming back!

2 nights at The Kings Cottage-Adventure awaits!

This is an incredible spot clearly built as a labor of love. Even on a rainy day where we couldn't do much outside, we stayed in warm with the cozy woodstove + sitting in the sauna in the rain was pretty magical. The outdoor kitchen has everything you need, there was plenty of wood and propane, the beds were extremely comfortable, and overall we were just happy to hang out here with our dog. Looking forward to coming back!

Weekend Trip to The Plank and Pillow on Pirate Cove

This spot truly is a treasure. Warm lake, private little inlet with lots of options no matter the age. My kids loved the pirate theme and had a few treasure hunts; my teenage daughter stayed on the paddleboard. The kids were up early to fish and went to bed wiped out every night. It is hard to entertain the entire family, but this place has pretty much taken the pressure off and provided a special experience for everyone to enjoy the time spent here!

Weekend Trip to Alder Grove Retreat

My husband and I had a wonderful time at the Alder Grove Retreat. The property is an oasis, so well conceptualized and crafted. You walk down a lovely trail past the sauna to the secluded cabin with an extraordinary view and all the amenities one would want to make it a comfortable getaway. We loved that the sauna is wood fired, that there's a fire pit, and that the cabin was so cozy with large windows. The whole space was exactly as you see and much better in person. Thanks, Dawson!

The property is on a quiet street in a quiet neighborhood, cozy, and well-stocked with everything needed for a comfortable stay! I loved the little patio for morning coffee, and really liked the comfy loft bed.

1 night at Cole's Cabin on Anderson Island

Cozy cabin in a private setting with a view of the sound. Super comfy bed. Quiet, a nearby walk to the beach. The chocolate chip cookies were a bonus, and Fred is friendly, can talk about the island, lives next door but makes himself invisible.

Weekend Trip to The Village at Rainier

Super cute little cabin! Just as described, it’s perfect for a solo traveler or a couple. Plenty of amenities were provided. Theres a toaster oven in the room and a portable single stove. Dishes, bowls, cups and cooking utensils are all in the room. You’ll have to bring your own towel though. Firewood was also sold on property. Really close to the Longmire entrance of Mt rainier national park.

I loved staying in this cabin! Location is close to a couple lakes we fished at during the day. Cabin included a kitchenette, bathroom, small couch, heating, and a loft bed. Hot tub was amazing and we also had a fire at the fire pit.

It’s beautiful and quiet here. The cabin is cozy, super comfortable beds and couch. We slept so well- it was utterly quiet. Fred gives very clear directions and is helpful with ideas of where to visit.

Weekend Trip to Alder Grove Retreat

Despite a slight mixup at the start, Dawson was a very gracious host and we had a comfortable stay at the Eagle View Cabin. The quarters are cozy with mini-kitchenette, bed, and loveseat all within arm's reach of each other. The outdoor rear porch shower & composting toilet worked fine. The propane room heater gets the cabin quite toasty, even on cool nights. If the weather is good, the front deck is fun for eating or watching the sky.
