The shed has an easy to use composting toilet with clear instructions if you’re a first timer. Also, “Ms Pacman's Backyard Glampsite” is a converted shed, so be ready for some lower ceilings and narrow spaces. The lofted full bed is cozy, so don’t bob your head on the way out! The bed has a six inch memory foam mattress with extra blankets and pillows available. Everything is washed with free and clear laundry detergent for any sensitivities. We provide a small refrigerator, a 2 burner stove with pots and pans for light cooking, coffee making supplies (reusable keurig pods or pour over coffee along with creamers and sugars), wine openers, dishes, and more. We have 2 tables where you can enjoy meals and games either indoors or outdoors. You will be one block away from Highland Park which has a tennis court and baseball field. Less than a mile north, you can explore the West Duwamish Greenbelt Trails. Only two blocks south of the property is Westcrest Park that hosts a community garden, a dog park, and small trails in their greenbelt. You’re also walking distance to downtown White Center, which has a microbrewery, a roller skating rink, a gay bar, a plant store, and plenty of coffee shops and restaurants.

The historic Johnson Farm and Museum can be a great place to sample island life from 100+ years ago. Pay extra for use of the twin electric bikes to ride the many quiet, scenic roads around the island. These roads can take you to the hikes, the store, cafe, or sample the sights like the 1928 ferry "Ocean City" slowly sinking into the mud in Oro Bay. There is often deer, hawks, eagles, coyotes, bunnies, and sometimes humpback or orca whales, all within sight of the cabin. It's a great place to escape the hectic pace of the city and enjoy the solitude interrupted only by the sound of the birds, and perhaps the distant trains about 3 miles away. Writer looking for a spot to focus on your next book? Reader wanting to finish a good book? Both are a perfect fit. Dogs are welcome but cannot run free due to the native animals that call the area home. The ferry is a 1 hour walk so cars are recommended. The Steilacoom ferry to Anderson Island leaves from the wonderful historic town of Steilacoom which is also well worth visiting. The *Purple Cottage* -- was found & salvaged (recycled!)-- moved onto the back of my property in 2012. This 16 X 12' place has been my studio in the past, but has offered overflow for friends & ; family. Nestled in the woods and ever-so-private, the cottage has a pull-out double futon, plus a small sleeping loft and can accommodate 1 -2 nicely (we will consider 3 if you have a small child, but it would be a tight fit!... There is a very small sleeping loft in the cottage.). There is a “en suite kitchen in the cottage that has a small fridge, microwave, and two burner stovetop cooking unit. The cottage offers privacy in a wooded garden setting. The bathhouse, with hot shower, vanity and; toilet --are all steps away (and covered) from the main cabin. The Purple Cottage sits on a shy wooded acre, with greenbelt buffers all around, maximizing the sense of privacy. our vintage Shasta Trailer across the driveway of the Purple Cottage is currently used as a music studio (and rarely as family/guest overflow), and I have my own small Artist Studio located also on the back of the property. Even with all the little enclave of buildings, The Purple Cottage retains a private feel all to itself, with reliable Wi-Fi available at the cottage. . It is located in a quiet little neighborhood, about 6 miles from Langley & 6 miles from Freeland.. Private beach access is across the road and a 15 minute walk up the street, where you can beach comb & explore the shoreline out at our little point. The private deck off the side of the Purple Cottage offers views of the gardens & flora, and has a little gas barbecue. There is also a delightful hot tub on the deck, which is a wonderful feature. An outdoor kitchen on the edge of the woods allows a roomier “camp cooking” experience with Colman stove & cold running water (season permitting). We are located 6 miles from the picturesque town of Langley and equal distance from Freeland, on the south end of Whidbey. Our area is very *bike-able* and either direction will get you to town! The Purple Cottage offers a rustic retreat in a place that feels far away, but is an hour & a half from the bustling city of Seattle!

This cabin was cozy and relaxing. It is surrounded by trees with a nice view of s cool rock cliff. You can hear the creek burbling a few dozen feet away. The location felt very secure and calm. Dave was a very responsive host, provided clear and helpful instructions, and my trip went smoothly. I am excited to return in the future.

Weekend Trip to Valhalla Tree Farm

We had a wonderful weekend at the A-Frame on Huckleberry Hill! This cabin is super cute, exactly like the photos/description. The view is beautiful, and it was very private, we didn't see anyone else while we were there (you can just barely occasionally hear the campers at the next site over, but they weren't the least bit disruptive). It was very peaceful, falling asleep to the sound of the frogs and crickets, and occasional owl call! Few notes to future campers: the cookware is mostly mess kit-type pots and pans with a cast iron pan or two, so bring your own if you if there's something specific you're expecting to cook with; we had excellent cell service; the town of Granite Falls is only a 12-15 drive from the campsite; we were in a Nissan Juke with AWD and had no issues with the driveway, but I wouldn't want to try it in a sportscar; there are not any places to hang a hammock at the site, we were glad to have brought our portable hammock stand. Weekend Trip to Simple Roots Ranch

We had a lovely time at Sharon and Dave’s potting shed. We got to walk the lovely walking trails, the cooking area had everything we could need, they provided a hammock for lounging and corn-hole, as well as some outdoor swings. The cabin was clean and perfectly spaced for 2-3 people. Would highly recommend and definitely come again!

2 nights at Cedar River Retreat

I’ve stayed at different sites at Cedar River Retreat on several occasions and enjoyed my stay every single time. Brittany is a pro and seems to just know how to make our stay comfy and homey. Everything is obviously well thought out, from the great value extras available, to her responsiveness; we feel at ease and relaxed. Not common for a property just 45 minutes from Seattle. Oh, and the cabin has a new little handy pump (?) sink next to the composting toilet! The firewood available for purchase on site, the other amenities, and the useful extras available for purchase, have us looking forward to our next Cedar River Retreat always. Thanks, Brittany!

Loved this spot! I wish I could have stayed longer. The hosts are so welcoming and there’s so much to explore on the property. Clearly so much care went into this space. As a solo traveler I felt very safe and it was so cozy. Fell asleep to the sound of frogs and owls.

As always the trip was so peaceful, the cabin is great. We enjoyed watching the Falcons and Hawks. The outdoor shower gets nice and hot and has an excellent view. The wood stove kept us nice an toasty at night.

Weekend Trip to Cole's Cabin on Anderson Island

It was a wonderful quiet peaceful retreat. We didn't do much of anything except enjoy a beautiful view, have warm bare feet finally! and enjoy each other's company. We will return in a more adventurous time. Fred was a wonderful host & yes, the brownies are good, especially with a cup of mint tea before bed!
