A place for river lovers!
Mark was so quick to respond to my spontaneous, day of, camping request. I had never camped on someone's private property before so I didn't expect much but was very pleased at the beautiful lay of the land. It's a breathtaking place! All tent sites are right on the river and private. We stayed at site 1, which is the closest site to its neighbor #2. However, the owner put up a fence that blocks any view between, that was just perfect! The firepits are a great touch as well. The restrooms (portapotty) were well maintained and stocked.
My only recommendation for future campers that book tent site 1 (the best spot in my opinion), be sure to bring a mat or air mattress as there's some uneven and rocky spots on the tent pad. This site is also the furthest from parking so if you have a lot of stuff, I'd recommend site #4.
I didn't use the sauna bc it's not my thing, but I'm sure it will get it's use and is s lively addition to the grounds. The hot tub wasn't going (last weekend in August), and it was too hot to use anyway but I can't wait to come back in the fall/winter and sit in there, it's right on the river too!
